Noun
[/center]A Noun is a word that describes a person, thing or place, and can be the subject of a sentence.
EG. [Noun = Dante] Dante fought valiantly, but his efforts were in vain.
In that sentence, you are the subject, the Noun.
Pronoun
[/center]A Pronoun is something that can replace a Noun in a sentence, as long as it still remains the subject, the sentence can remain complete.
EG. [Pronoun = She] It was a hot day out, She decided to relax at the beach.
In that sentence, She was the pronoun, and the beach was a regular noun, because it is a place.
Irregular Nouns
[/center]Irregular nouns are the nouns that need something extra to be added to the end of it, or changed to be made plural (more than one of said object, person or thing). These are generally small, but if the extra is not added, it is an incorrect word.
EG. [Irregular Noun = Hero - Heroes] The Justice League is a collection of Heroes trying to protect the earth.
Words such as Heroes, and Cactus (Cacti), and Appendix (Appendices) are all examples of that, so be wary.
Verb
[/center]Verbs are doing words, any word that describes an action is a verb, when fighting in Roleplay, verbs play an active roll.
EG. [Verb = Kick] Rogue went to kick the child in the face, it was truly irritating her with its complaining.
In the sentence, the action of going to kick the child in the face, and the action of the child complaining were both verbs.
Adverb
[/center]An Adverb is a word that describes a verb, unlike an Adjective, which describes nouns, the moment the word describes a verb, it becomes an Adverb. These sometimes modify adjectives too.
EG. [Adverb = Very] The child was severely injured.
Severely is an adverb because it was describing how the injury was were, they were severe. injured is an adjective because it describes what the child was, the child being the noun.
Adjective
[/center]An Adjective, as mentioned above, are words that describe nouns, and are commonly used in Roleplay to describe the environment, and help paint a better picture.
EG. [Adjective = Beautiful] The painting on the wall was truly beautiful.
Adjectives do not have to be next to the Noun they are modifying, as long as the subject is stated, the adjective can modify it anywhere along the sentence.
Preposition
[/center]A preposition describes where a Noun is in a sentence, and can be used to end a sentence.[/b] There is no agreed upon rule stating it cannot, however, many people agree that it should not be used. So don't.
EG. [Preposition = Down] Heero sat down and rubbed his temples as he stared at the computer screen in exasperation.
Heero was down, stating where his position was, as he is the Noun in the sentence, the Verb was sat, and the preposition was down, because that was his positioning at the time. [/blockquote]
