Name: Gate Duty
Rank: D
IIC Length: 2 days
Difficulty: Easy
Description: To simply put it, we are putting our Genin[or any willing] to work. This will be a great practice test for those fresh out of the Academy, for you will be given the position to hold a point and secure it for two days. This is to make sure you can watch out for intruders, and keep traffic under control. This is a easy task, however, you will be provided with two ANBU who already hold the gate to some degree. It is but training, but paid training at that.
Objective: Keep the gate secured for more than two days. Write a decent amount for each day. The more descriptive, and the better written your mission is, the less chances of encountering any NPC troublemakers [played by either myself, or a Staff]
Reward: 1500 Ryo [500 Ryo per tango killed, 700 Ryo per pc tango killed]
It was a nice and clear morning outside today in kirigakure. It was a bit off since usually the place is filled with hanging mists. The normal mists were surely to return later throughout the day. The mists always show up even on seemingly clear days. A boy walked up the large gates of the mist. The boy had light blue skin and his hair also had a blue tint. A member of the hoshigaki clan left him being part shark. He was a genin of the village.
Today the boy wanted to start out a mission to get some experience. Earlier he was assigned the mission of gate duty. His amber irises darted to the gates. His circular eyes showed that he was a bit nervous. He was sure he’d do fine. It was just meeting new people wasn’t the easiest for him. Tsuyu went up to a gate guard.”Ex-excuse me. I’m a genin that was assigned to gate duty.” he explained. The guard immediately understood. Telling Tsuyu the hoshigaki boy what the duties of being on gate duty is.
Tsuyu was to only allow people into the village if they were on official business or if they were mist ninjas returning back to the village. Entrance to the village of people who looked suspicious or were not on official business with the village The only time he was to use force was when people tried to force their way into the village or sneak inside the village. He was supposed to report things first however if he sees a spotting of anybody trying to sneak in.
Tsuyu stood out at the gates to start his duty. He had to do the gate duty for two days so starting in the morning was a good way to get the first day started. He looked forward out to the path the leads to the gates. Nobody or nothing. Things seemed to be moving quite slowly this morning. Than again its not like a parade or people will be walking up to the gate expecting to get in he thought. So he kept standing out there.
At the same time he looked around to make sure nothing else was going on in the background. No things seemed quite normal out here. This was he duty and mission so he kept up with it. This was after all a way to protect the village. He hoped things wouldn’t go wrong. He had the other guards as well to help him out. After all they wanted completely leave things to the hands of a genin. He just needed to e more confident in himself.
It seemed like he stood out there for another hour. Then he saw something making its way towards the village gates. It was a man on a wooden carriage being pulled by a horse. It seems the carriage was carrying something. The other guard said that he will show Tsuyu how proper procedures are done. The man continued they’re way and stopped the horse Tsuyu walked to the other side next to the other guard. The man pulled out a paper showing it to the guard. The man aid that he permission to go in the village to bring seasonal produce and herbs to the village.
The other guard examined the paper and showed it to the paper and how it was official and showed him the proper signatures that made it official. The guard handed back the paper to the man. The gate opened and the man commanded the horse to trot through the gate. Then just as the man suddenly came he disappeared into the village and gate closed after him.
Several more hours passed after this. Tsuyu taking a small lunch break then returning back to his post. More people came to the gates. Mostly merchant’s or people who came from neighboring towns asking for ninja delegations for assistance. Tsuyu watched how the other guard handle things the first few times. Then he let Tsuyu try the next time. His first chance was to allow some people who live outside of the village to visit their family. The people seemed nervous as Tsuyu walked up to ask for what they were visiting for and clearance papers.
Tsuyu figured they seemed nervous because of his shark like appearance. He was nervous too but he tried holding it back. The people went through the village. Through the rest of the time it seemed mostly returning mist ninjas were going back to the village or out of the village for missions. He spent a lot of time out here but the boy thought to himself that he might have gotten a little used to it already.
