Effect: A technique that allows the user and the animal to better communicate with one another by understanding what they would say without words.
Special: ---
Drawback: Animal will not understand the user what so ever and will not be able to perform tasks. May only learn once per animal. If user gets a new animal user must relearn the technique for that specific animal.
Description: A user and the animal are like two peas and a pod. It becomes an understanding of interpreted friendship. A user can give commands, telling the animal exactly what to do however the user must be specific. The user is able to understand what the animal means when it reacts, and the animal understands the user when he/she speaks. If user has a Small Animal Companion, the user must learn the technique "D" Rank. If user has a Medium Animal Companion, the user must learn the technique "C" Rank. If the user has a Large Animal Companion, the user must learn the technique "B" Rank. If the user has a Huge Animal Companion, the user must learn the technique "A" Rank. If the user has a Gargantuan Animal Companion, the user must learn the technique "S" Rank. If the user has a Colossal Animal Companion, the user must learn the technique "S + B" Rank. This means that the user must first learn "S", and then learn an additional "B" because its such a huge creature.
Limit: Must know Doubutsu Kougi 動物交宜 (Animal Friendship), or Doubutsu Shirei 動物司令 (Animal Control)

Akiko stood next to Hayate, trying to fit a saddle she had crafted for the oversized bird. Over the past who cared how long, she had been riding the bird bareback, which, while easy enough once she got used to it, was still rough on her backside. The saddle that she had crafted was designed especially for Hayate, and for her, complete with reins, a bit, and padding for the rider's posterior. A handy thing to have, all told.

However, Akiko had very little idea on how to put this thing on, and was left only to guess, while struggling to make a rather uncooperative bird understand that it would help them both in a number of ways. The saddle was composed almost entirely of leather, with a hard frame and padding for the seat. Attached is a long set of overlapping hardened leather plates ending in a hardened leather helmet. The helmet was secured under the chin, with the reins attached to the sides of the helm to help steer, as a traditional bit, like those on a horse's reins, wouldn't work based on the shape of Hayate's mouth.

However, Hayate wanted no part of this. Either that, or she thought this was some sort of game. Either way, Akiko wasn't having an easy time getting the gear on her. "Come on, Hayate, this will make it easier for me to ride you." Hayate just Kweh'ed while looking at Akiko with her big brown eyes. Akiko sighed with exasperation, it had been like this all day, but she didn't want to ask for help from her AnBu shadow. She preferred to pretend they weren't there, otherwise it just felt uncomfortable.

Then again, it was somewhat difficult to ignore their presence when they were sitting in the shade of the nearby archery range's awning, enjoying iced barley tea. Those guys are almost comical in their uselessness. Akiko sighed and turned her attention back to Hayate and the conundrum of trying to get this blasted saddle on her. Every time Akiko charged straight at her, the bloody bird just skipped away. That's right, skipped, not ran, as if to mock her. And of course, but this point, Akiko was bound and determined to get that saddle on that bird.

The question was 'how?' For the past few hours, Akiko had been trying in vain with every possible angle and strategy she could come up with, and that blasted bird just danced around her every time. It felt like a Wile E. Coyote re-run. And being cast in the roll of Wile E. was not a fun position. No no no, most definitely not.

That blasted bird was just too aware of it's surroundings. Even from behind, it always heard or saw her coming. Just how on earth was she supposed to get this blasted saddle onto this blasted bird? Akiko sighed in exasperation and decided out of desperation to try explaining the situation, though she was unsure if Hayate would get it.

"Come on, Hayate. I'm trying to fit this saddle on you to make it easier for me to ride you. No offense, be it's somewhat uncomfortable to ride you bareback, and this has some light armor for you to boot. Please try it on Hayate? I can adjust it to make it more comfortable for you too." Hayate looked almost like she was thinking it over, then walked over and gently butted her head against Akiko's.

"You mean?" Akiko asked hestitantly. "Kweh~" Hayate cooed in what seemed to be agreement, so Akiko walked over to Hayate's side and attempted to put the saddle on her. Akiko started by adjusting the belly strap, pulling it tight enough to be perfectly secure, without being uncomfortable. After checking to make sure it was comfortable enough to Hayate, Akiko placed the helm section on Hayate's head and secured it around the large bird's jaw and throat. The reins hung loosely, reaching the saddle with just enough slack. Though it lacked any saddlebags, it was good enough. The footloops were adjustable too.

Description: The user focuses chakra at a certain point on the target and creates a small amount of friction in the air, sparking the area. This can be done almost instantaneously, but causes almost zero damage due to the small nature of the spark. It cannot cause paralysis or blindness, nor any other sort of damage. Usually a prank children use on each other like a game of tag, but with sparks for a small kick.

Now that Akiko had finally gotten the saddle on Hayate, she was able to relax a bit. As the tension left her, Akiko found herself reminiscing about her days in the academy. Back then she did little more than train all day. Akiko had only recently learned how to mold chakra back then, and was focused on mastering it. She didn't have any friends back then, Aniki was always doing missions, and 'Baa-san was busy with work. So Akiko spent lots of time alone, with nothing to do but read or work on ninjutsu. And by the time she had started attending the academy, she had already read nearly every book that Obaa-san had. The only ones left were college-level books and above, and considering Akiko was only around eight at the time, they were a little much.

So an Akiko who looked only months at most younger than she does now sat with a book on electrodynamics open in front of her. She was a very well read child. The chapter she had open was an early one, defining the nature of electricity, and how it worked. Her goal for the day was to learn to generate and manipulate electricity in such a way so as to create a small ion trail. In theory, it wouldn't require much energy to generate, but at the same time could provide ample applications, and it would prove to be an efficient, if menial, task on which to develop her ninjutsu skill.

Akiko ran over the procedure in her head, Electricity is caused by the electrons in atoms being separated and jumping from one atom to another. The electron would cause an excess electrical charge, causing an electron from the new atom to jump to a neighboring one, and so on. To create an electrical circuit, one has to create a circular matrix that allows the electrons to flow full circle. This is how a common electrical appliance operates.

They take power, either from an outlet or batteries, and uses that to operate their mechanism, for example, by running it through a narrow filament, as in a toaster or a light bulb, or by running it through wires around a magnet, as in a motor. Once the electricity has flowed through the system once, it will then return to it's source, completing the circuit. This is why most electrical plugs have two tongs. The optional third tong is used as a 'ground' to safely dissipate a surge of electricity, as is the case with high-usage devices. A material's electrical resistance is based on how readily it's electrons will jump to another atom. A material's temperature also alters electrical resistance, with higher temperatures reducing conductivity.

At the moment, Akiko wanted to be able to generate a static electrical charge with her fingers, and somehow create a path for it to follow. In theory, that path would travel from the source of her electrical charge to the destination of her choosing, where the electrical charge would flow through their body into the ground. The pathway itself would be composed of chakra molded in such a way as to improve the conductivity of any air within it's borders. Not such a hard feat.

Akiko closed her eyes and focused on warping her chakra to warp atoms and adjust conductivity while at the same time building an electrical charge's two halves in her thumb and middle finger. As the charge built, a small spark jumped between the two fingers, while the trail of air between her fingers and her target, a rather round rock, began to shimmer.

Akiko clicked her fingers, producing a rather loud sound. But the initial burst of sound was not her target. Rather, she was after the bolt of electrical energy that flew through the air and struck the stone. The stone blackened where the bolt hit, showing Akiko that her jutsu was a resounding success. As for the bolt, as it transversed the distance, it super-heated the air, causing a bright white flash that, from this close, seemed to be a simple white flash instead of the irregular bolt of electricity everyone recognizes. All the same, an almost deafening crack of thunder erupted as the air rapidly expanded from the heat, compressing the air around it and causing a loud reverberation as the air rapidly vibrated.

Effect: A technique that allows the user and the animal to work together as a team. The user is able to ommit a few words here and there without giving full descriptions allowing the animal to attack with the user or how the user instructs.

Drawback: Animal will not work as a team with the user in combinations as well as using lesser commands. May only learn once per animal. If user gets a new animal user must relearn the technique for that specific animal.
Description: Ever seen an animal and master work with one another to the point where a word or two is uttered and they work in sync. This allows this to happen. The user is able to utter a word or two command as the Animal Companion follows. Sometimes the Animal Companion may react already knowing what user may wish for the Animal Companion to do. This allows such feats. If user has a Small Animal Companion, the user must learn the technique "D" Rank. If user has a Medium Animal Companion, the user must learn the technique "C" Rank. Akiko lay in the shade as she snapped back to the present. A faint glow surrounded her thumb and middle finger, the two pressed together. Apparently, in her reminiscence, Akiko had begun reenacting her steps, working through the process of learning the jutsu. She let her chakra return to it's normal state and stood up from where she had taken a break. "Hey, Hayate," she called to the rather large bird, who was currently enjoying a snack, "Lets work on our mounted combat."

Hayate got up from her meal, carrot greens sticking out of her beak. The overlarge avian looked straight at Akiko with her large eyes. After a moment of staring at her, she wolfed the carrot down and screeched a loud "WARK!" The large yellow bird trotted over to Akiko and squatted down for the young kunoichi to climb on. Akiko swung one leg over Hayate's back as she pulled herself on. She then took the reins loosely in hand and tried to get comfortable as her mount stood up.

"Ne~ lets start by walking forward," Hayate began to walk forward at a comfortable, smooth pace, "good, now when I pull on one rein, can you turn the way I pull? And when I pull both, I want you to slow down. If I keep pulling them back, I want you to stop, and if I don't stop pulling them back once you've stopped, I want you to turn around. Do you have all that?" At this point, Akiko was only regurgitating basic command information she had memorized from an equestrian book she had read in the library.

Nevertheless, Hayate nodded, and slowed to a stop, prompting Akiko to add one more command to the list. "If I flick the reins, I want you to speed up. The harder I flick them, and the more I flick them, the more I want you to accelerate, ok?" Hayate nodded and warked in an obvious agreement, so Akiko decided it was time to try these commands out. Gently flicking the reins, Akiko tried to prompt Hayate into a walk, but Hayate instead shifted into a trot. Not a big deal, but Akiko might need to work on that later.

Akiko next pulled on the right, then left reins, slowly guiding Hayate to a line painted in the dusty dirt track normally used for training horses. As they approached the line, Akiko pulled back on the reins until Hayate stopped. Akiko let the reins go slack, then pulled on one side, then the other, both to make sure that Hayate knew to turn in place, and to line them up perpendicular to the painted line. Once Hayate was properly positioned, Akiko began to add in a second set of instructions.

"Good job Hayate. There are a few more commands I'd like to give you, in case I can't use my hands. Ok?" Hayate warked again. Akiko ran over the instructions she would give Hayate using her legs. She'd clamp her knees down to steady herself while they rode, so then Akiko could just lean the direction she wanted Hayate to turn. If she wanted Hayate to go faster, she would poke the bird's belly with her heels. To stop or slow down, she'd just use the reins, she could still give that command with just one hand without much issue.

"Okay, lets go Hayate!" Akiko kicked her heels and flicked the reins, prompting Hayate to took off at top speed. The sudden acceleration knocked Akiko off balance, causing her to lean back. But with effort, she managed to pull herself upright and lean forward. As they approached the bend, Akiko pulled on the right rein as she leaned to the side, directing Hayate into a turn around the track. As they straightened out, Akiko marveled at how fast they were moving. The only time Akiko had been moving this fast, she had her ATs on.
