Name: Granny Needs Help in the Garden

Objective: Do whatever Old Lady Mushi requires of you.
Description: Old Lady Mushi is trying to prepare a great feast of vegetables and other types of crops and animals for the ninja of the Hidden Waterfall Village to show her appreciation to them. However, she is very old, and can't do it all by herself, so she has requested the aid of 1 - 3 young, strapping ninja to help her with her task. She will need things ranging from running to the Village Center to get items, planting seeds, feeding the animals around her home, tending to crops, and the like. Help her for the day, and you will be rewarded with knowing that you helped to prepare a feast for your comrades.... Oh, and maybe some money too.

Kanae headed to Old Lady Mushi's home immediately after leaving the Takikage Tower. Her first mission had been a success, and she was eager to start on her second one. When Kanae arrived, she knocked loudly on the front door. She waited a few seconds, but there was no answer. Kanae knocked again, but no one answered this time either. Kanae decided that Old Lady Mushi was probably doing some work outside, and headed to the back of the house to check.

Kanae found Old Lady Mushi hard at work in her garden. Kanae walked over and introduced herself. "Hi, I'm Kanae. I'm the ninja who was sent here to help you with the feast." Old Lady Mushi continued working as she replied, "Ah, yes. You can get started right away. Grab some gloves from that shed over there and come help me weed these vegetables."

Kanae did as she was told and walked back over to Old Lady Mushi. Old Lady Mushi began explaining what she was supposed to do in more detail. "You can work over here by the carrots. The carrots plants have two long, thin oval shaped weeds. You want to leave those and pull up everything else." "Yes ma'am," Kanae said as she got to work.

The carrot shoots were still very small, so Kanae had to be careful not to crush them or pull them up on accident. Most of the weeds were very easy to pull up. There weren't either; it was obvious that Old Lady Mushi took care of her garden. Kanae put all of the weeds she pulled in a large pile to the side of the garden. Old Lady Mushi said that she would take care of the weeds later. There were several rows of carrot shoots, but Kanae was finished weeding them in less than an hour.

"I finished the carrots," Kanae informed Old Lady Mushi. "Would you like me to start on another plant?" Old Lady Mushi slowly stood and walked over to the carrot section. She smiled approvingly as she checked Kanae's work. "Good, good. That looks nice. I don't need anymore weeding done today, but I do need some items from the Village Center. Come into the house with me."

Kanae obediently followed Old Lady Mushi into the house. The old lady grabbed a basket and some money and handed it to Kanae. "I need: chicken feed, cow feed, a bag of potatoes, and two different types of lettuce seeds. This money should be enough to cover the expenses. Do you remember everything?" Old Lady Mushi asked.

"Chicken and cow feed, potatoes, and two kinds of lettuce seeds, right?" Old Lady Mushi nodded and Kanae started walking towards the Village Center. Kanae was familiar with the Village Center, so she knew where everything was located. She decided to get Romaine and Iceberg lettuce seeds. Kanae placed all of the items in the basket and brought them to the cashier. It turned out that Old Lady Mushi had given her the exact amount of money that she needed. Kanae was impressed.

When Kanae was almost back at Old Lady Mushi's house, she smelled something delicious. The old lady must have started cooking when Kanae left. Kanae knocked on the door and a voice called, "Come in!" Kanae opened the door and walked into the kitchen. "Where do you want me to put these?" Kanae asked.

"Take the animal feed and go feed the animals. Just put the entire bag in the feeding trough. Do the cows first, and check for eggs when you feed the chickens. I have a special basket you can use to collect the eggs. Just leave everything else on the counter." Kanae removed the feed from the basket and to the egg collecting basket from Old Lady Mushi. This basket had paper in the bottom with indentations so the eggs wouldn't slide around.

Kanae headed back outside and headed to the animal enclosures. She set the chicken feed and basket outside the enclosure and walked in. She poured the food into the trough and securely shut the gate when she left. One of the cows looked at her disinterestedly before slowly heading towards the feed.

The chickens were a lot more lively. They all swarmed the feeding trough when she poured the chicken feed in. Kanae was able to find a dozen chicken eggs in the enclosure. When she left, she made sure she locked the gate back. When Kanae walked into the house, Old Lady Mushi greeted her. "Thanks for bringing the feed bags back. Just place everything on the counter over there."

Kanae put the items on the counter and asked Old Lady Mushi what she wanted her to do next. "That's all for today, sweetie. You've been such a big help. Thank you so much!" "You're welcome. Goodbye!" Kanae replied. She left Old Lady Mushi's house and headed towards the Takikage Tower.
