Kanae reread the mission slip as she walked out of the Takikage Tower. It looked like she could choose to be a delivery person for one of three places: a florist, ramen shop, or shipping store. After thinking for a few moments, she decided to help the florist. She quickly made her way over the quaint little shop.
When she arrived at the shop, she was greeted by the overpowering smell of a large number of flowers. Kanae was glad that she was helping out by doing deliveries instead of working in the shop. Kanae made her way to the cash register that was located in the back of the shop. A blonde girl about her age was seated there reading a magazine.
"Hi," Kanae said, standing in front of the girl to get her attention. "I'm supposed to be helping you guys by running deliveries." The girl looked up disinterestedly and pointed to a door on her left. "My dad's in that room over there. He'll tell you what you need to do." Without waiting to see if Kanae followed her instructions, the girl went back to reading her magazine.
Kanae headed towards the room the girl pointed out and opened the door. Apparently, this room was a work area. Ribbons, stems, and petals littered the floor. Kanae carefully picked her way through the room, trying not to step on anything important. She had noticed an middle-aged man in the back corner making bouquets.
"What can I do for you?" the man asked as she approached. "I'm the ninja who was sent here to help you with some deliveries," Kanae answered. "Oh yes, we've been expecting you," the man replied. "I have three deliveries for you to make today. Do you think you can handle that?" "Yes sir," Kanae answered, flashing the man a confident smile.
"Good, come over here," the man said, standing up and moving to a different part of the room. He picked up a box with several bouquets arranged neatly inside and set it on a nearby table. "I need you to take these flowers to the nursing home. An anonymous person ordered and paid for them. Anyway, I'm busy back here and don't have time to deliver them myself, so I need you to do it for me."
"Alright," Kanae said as she grabbed the box. "I'll get going now and come back when I'm finished. See you in a little while!" Kanae left the shop and began traveling to the nursing home. Kanae had gone to the nursing home a couple of times to visit Chirin's mother, so she knew where the building was located. Thankfully, the box wasn't that heavy. Kanae wondered why she always ended up taking missions that involved manual labor.
After about 20 minutes of walking, Kanae reached the nursing home. She headed to the front desk and sat the box on top of it. "What's this?" the assistant asked, surprised. "An anonymous person bought and paid for these flower bouquets to be delivered to the nursing home." "Oh how nice!" the assistant exclaimed, delighted. "Thank you for bringing them here, young lady." "No problem."
It only took about 10 minutes for Kanae to arrive back at the flower shop. Since she wasn't carrying anything, she had been able to run. Kanae headed straight for the side room and announced, "I'm back." The man looked up from where he was working and motioned to a potted plant that was sitting next to her. "That plant is for someone's mother who is in the hospital. All of her information is on a card in the plant. Just give it to a nurse and have her deliver it." Kanae nodded, picked up the plant, and headed out the door.
The hospital was only about 10 minutes away from the hospital. Kanae gave the plant to a nurse at the front desk and told her who it was for. The nurse smiled and promised to make sure that it was delivered. Kanae thanked the nurse and headed back to the flower shop.
"Back already?" the man asked when she entered the room. Without waiting for a reply he said, "There's you're last delivery." He was pointing to a box that contained several individually wrapped flowers. "The ninja academy ordered those so that the students could give the flowers to their parents. I assume you know where the academy is?"
"I do," Kanae replied. She picked up the box and started walking to the ninja academy. The academy was about 30 minutes away, the farthest of her deliveries. When Kanae arrived, she took the flowers to the front office. She gave them to the person working at the desk and left.
When Kanae arrived at the shop, the man thanked her for her help. "You're welcome," Kanae replied. Seeing that there was nothing left for her to do, Kanae headed to the Takikage Tower.
