Description: The hospital is under staffed and needs a helping hand. Help move patients, administer medications, deliver lunch, and cleaning. Various tasks are available for both medics and non-medics so help in anyway you can!

As Kanae walked out of the Takikage Tower, she replayed the assistant's words in her head. “You are aware that Takigakure does not have a hospital and that the temporary hospital is just a few meters down from the Tower. The head Medic, Amanda should be expecting you. Just hand her this slip and she will take care of the rest.” The first thing she needed to do was find the hospital. Kanae assumed the hospital would have some sort of sign. She resumed walking, keeping an eye out for the temporary hospital.

When Kanae found the hospital, she walked in and immediately headed to the front desk. "Good morning," Kanae greeted the woman sitting at the desk. "Do you know where I can find the head medic?" The woman smiled and said, "Amanda's with a patient right now, but she should be finished in a few minutes. If you take a seat right over there, I'll let her know you want to see her."

"Thank you," Kanae replied. She sat down in the area the lady had indicated and waited. About five minutes later, Kanae saw a woman with long blonde hair and glasses walk up to the front desk. She had an aura of authority about her and Kanae guessed that this woman was Amanda, the head medic.

Her suspicions were confirmed when the lady at the front desk motioned for her to come over. "I understand you were looking for me," Amanda said when Kanae was in earshot. "Yes," Kanae began, "I'm here to help out the hospital." Kanae handed Amanda her mission slip and continued, "I'm not a medic, but I was informed that there were tasks for non-medics to do as well."

Amanda quickly scanned the mission slip and said, "Excellent, follow me." They passed several rows of beds and rooms that were sectioned off by navy curtains. Kanae didn't have much time to look around the hospital because Amanda was walking so fast. Amanda led Kanae to a room towards the back of the hospital. She handed Kanae a pair of thick yellow cleaning gloves and explained what she wanted Kanae to do.

"Do you see those sinks over there?" Amanda asked. Kanae looked where she was pointing and saw several metal objects with what looked like blood covering them. There were so many of the metal instruments that they filled up one of the sinks and spilled over onto the counters.

When Kanae nodded, Amanda continued speaking. "All of those needed to be thoroughly washed with soap and water. Once you're finished washing them, they'll need to be boiled so the doctors will have sterile instruments to use. There's a stove over there and you should be able to find all of the supplies you need in this room. When you're finished, go back to the desk and I'll let you know what you need to do next."

"Yes ma'am," Kanae said as Amanda left the room. She put on the yellow gloves and got to work. The first thing she did was locate all of the supplies she would need. Kanae found soap, towels, and rags in the cabinets above the sink. Several large pots were in the cabinet next to the stove. Kanae grabbed one of these pots and filled it halfway with water.

She scooted some of the metal instruments over and placed the pot on the counter next to her. Then Kanae poured some soap in the sink, making sure the drain was in place. She filled the sink with about 3 inches of warm water and began washing the metal objects. There were several blades and scalpels in the pile.

Kanae carefully removed the dried blood and grime from the objects with a rag. Next, Kanae washed them off with warm water from the faucet. Then Kanae placed the clean blades into the pot with water. Whenever she spilled water on the floor or counter, Kanae would quickly mop it up with a towel. She didn't want to slip and end up having an extended stay at the hospital.

Blades and scalpels weren't the only things Kanae washed. There were scissors, needles, and tweezers as well. Most of the items were sharp, so Kanae had to be careful not to poke herself. When the water in the sink got to dirty, Kanae removed the sink drain and let the water drain out of the sink. Then she wiped around the sides of the sink.

Kanae washed out the rags she was using as well. Then Kanae would replace the sink drain, add more soap, and fill the sink with three inches of water. When the pot was filled with utensils, Kanae carefully carried it over to the stove. She got a new pot from the cabinet and filled it halfway with water.

It took Kanae a while to finish since there were so many things that needed to be washed. When Kanae finally finished, she cleaned the sink and counters. There was a linen basket in the corner, so Kanae put the towels and rags she had used in there. Then Kanae turned the stove on so the water in the pots would boil.

Kanae stepped back and looked around, making sure she hadn't forgotten to do anything. Everything seemed alright, so Kanae headed back to the front desk. This time Amanda was already there. It didn't look like she was waiting for Kanae to finish though. It was much more likely that she had work to do at the front desk.

"You finished just in time," Amanda said as Kanae approached. "We're about to give the inpatients their lunch." Once again Kanae followed Amanda as she walked through the hospital. This time they ended up in the kitchen. They walked over to someone who was shouting orders at the other people working in the kitchen. Kanae assumed that this was the head chef.

"Amanda!" the head chef shouted when he saw us. "What can I do for you?" Amanda didn't seem to be surprised by the chef's loud voice. Even when he was talking normally, it seemed like he was shouting. Kanae resisted the urge to massage her ears.

"This girl is helping out the hospital today. Since it's just about lunch time, I thought you could use some help with delivering the patient's meals." The head chef smiled as Amanda spoke. "I sure could. Thanks!" With that, Amanda left and the head chef began explaining what Kanae was supposed to do.

"The meals have already been prepared. They are all on that cart over there," the head chef said, pointing at a nearby cart full of covered trays. "All of the patients get the same meal, so it doesn't matter what tray you give to the patient. Remember to greet the patient when you give them their food. A simple 'Hello' or 'Good afternoon' will suffice. Place the tray on the table next to their bed and move on the next patient."

Kanae nodded and asked, "Where are the patients located?" The head chef walked out of the kitchen with Kanae and gave her directions. "Go straight down that hall, turn right, go all the way down, and turn left. You need to give food to all of the patients on that hallway. Some of the rooms are empty right now, but there should be the same amount of trays as there are patients."

"Alright, I'll get started," Kanae said walking back into the kitchen. She walked over to the cart with the food trays and began pushing it. Kanae was surprised by how smoothly the cart rolled. It seemed like this hospital took good care of their equipment.

Kanae followed the directions the head chef had given her. Finally, she ended up in a hallway with room on either side. Kanae parked the cart between two of the doors so it wouldn't get in anyone's way. She took the top tray from the cart and held on to it carefully. The head chef had said that there were exactly enough trays for the each of the current patients.

Kanae knocked on the door with her free hand and entered the room. "Hi, I brought you're lunch," Kanae said smiling. "Thanks," an elderly lady said, looking up as I entered. I set the tray down on the table next to the bed and replied, "You're welcome."

As Kanae left the room and closed the door she thought, this isn't so bad. The next two rooms were empty. Kanae continued greeting patients and bringing them their food until she reached the end of the hallway. The last tray went to the patient in the very last room. Like the chef said, there were exactly enough trays.

Kanae was impressed. Not only did this hospital take good care of their equipment, they also didn't waste. Kanae rolled the cart back to the kitchen and put it back where she had found it. "I'm finished," Kanae said, bracing herself for the chef's loud voice. "Well done," he boomed, "you can go back to Amanda now."

Kanae left the kitchen and headed back to the front desk. On the way, she ended up getting lost and having to ask a nurse for directions. Kanae eventually arrived at the front desk, but Amanda wasn't there this time. The lady at the desk told her to sit down and wait for Amanda to come back.

Kanae had just sat down when Amanda appeared. "I'm glad you're finished. Follow me." Kanae followed Amanda as she went a short distance from the waiting are to several rows of beds. Patients were in some of the beds sleeping or resting. Other beds had rumpled blankets and sheets, but no one was in them.

"Several patients have started checking out," Amanda explained. "I need you to place the used sheets in the linen basket and put new sheets on the beds. Don't worry about the beds that have patients in them or the ones that look like no one has used them. Remember to put on gloves before starting." After explaining what Kanae was supposed to do, Amanda left, presumably to attend to other duties.

Kanae put on a pair of disposable gloves and walked over to the beds. She decide to take the dirty sheets off of all of the beds first. She could carry the sheets and blankets from most beds in one trip without any problems. For some beds, though, she had to make two trips. Once all the sheets had been removed, Kanae began wiping down the beds with disinfectant.

Next she put pillowcases on all of the pillows. Once Kanae finished, she started making beds up one at a time. For each bed she used a fitted sheet, a regular sheet, and a blanket. Kanae made sure that each bed looked neat, but didn't spend too long on one bed. The beds didn't have to be perfect, and besides, new patients would be messing them up soon.

Kanae ended up removing and placing new sheets on about 20 beds. After she finished, she went to the front desk to look for Amanda. Amanda was at the front desk this time, and smiled at Kanae as she approached. "Thank you for all of your help today. That's all I need you to do for right now. By the way, what was your name?" "Kanae Sankuchi," Kanae replied. "Well thank you, Kanae." After their conversation, Kanae left the hospital.
