When Dawn is not out on mission or training he can be seen wearing a shaolin monk blue robe. The robe is made of water resistant cloth allowing him to swim in it without getting soaked. He let his hair down letting it cascade down to just below his shoulders. When his hair is down it gives his body a feminine look causing most to mistake him for a girl.
Background:
Dawn was born into the Jengu clan of the Village Hidden in the Waterfall. He lived a good life when he was younger. He was very much a “momma’s boy” he loved Ushi (his mother) much more than his Kisho(his father) because they were so alike. He was her spitting image of her. Dawn had an older brother(Hiro) who meant the world to him as well. He and his father just never could see eye to eye seeing as Dawn was head strong like his mother.
Around the time of Dawn’s eighth birthday Hiro was caught while out on a spy mission. He had been compromised and captured while gathering Intel for the village. Instead of sending a rescue party to retrieve his beloved older brother he overheard the elders of the village talking to Ushi about sending an assassination squad. He stormed into the meet begging and questioning the elder’s motives for this. They simply threw him out and told him it was none of his business.
He ran home crying his eyes out. His mother found him in his room she took him in her arms. He notices she was wearing her own Ninja outfit. She told him that she was going to try and rescue his brother and that if she didn’t make it back that she wanted him to be the kindest person he could be. He never saw her again after she left the village nor did his brother return.
After that day his father was never the same. He became bitter and cold toward Dawn. Kisho blamed Dawn for Ushi’s death. He could have overcome Hiro’s death on it’s on but coupled with that of his wife’s he lost his soul. He truly wish to fulfill his wife’s dream of their son becoming a great Shinobi so he trained Dawn but he didn’t go easy on Dawn. He would beat him if he failed. This made Dawn despise and respect his father.
Dawn also kind of blamed himself for his mother’s death as well which is why he vowed to help anyone and everyone he could. Because that is what his mother did for him and Hiro. So he puts up with his father.
