The Story begins. [Training/Private]

[Muraku]

*OOC This post is to just establish the relationship between Muraku and The Ryuukaze so that Muraku can have a master for Protegra. *

The sun shined through the clouds that were few in the blue sky, The world was pretty silent due to the barren land around Muraku. The few birds that were around were predators that every once and awhile glanced at him as if debating if he would be a good meal, Muraku picked up a stone and gladly slung it at the birds causing a flutter of wings and a lot of noise making. Muraku smiled and stretched out his arms as he continued to walk the land, He was told about a week ago that if he wanted to learn Protegra the defensive sword fighting style then he was going to have to find Ryuukaze, Who is supposed to be an old man that wears a simple white Gi with a Black armband symbolizing his rank as Nushi the highest possible rank in Protegra. Muraku was glad he decided to wear his blue shirt and gray shorts or else the sun would be baking him, He decided to sit under a shelf of rock that provided some cover from the sun.

Out in the distance, Muraku thought he saw a man preforming some kind of movements. He rubbed his eyes to make sure he wasn’t seeing some kind of mirage from being out in the sun for so long, But the figure was still there. This interested Muraku like no other, *Could this be the famous Ryuukaze?* He began his walk towards the figure who as he got closer more details could be picked out. It was male wearing a white Gi, gray hair, getting up there in age, but that could only be told by the wrinkles on his face because his movements were fluid and strong you could obviously tell that this man was in top physical shape. Muraku only knew some techniques that orginated from Protegra and this man was doing all the base techniques that went with the style. The one thing that Muraku kept looking for was the Black armband that symbolized the rank of Protegra Nushi which would make this man the Ryuukaze.

The man turned towards Muraku and there on his right bicep was the black armband, Muraku immediately bowed to the Ryuukaze out of pure respect. The man was kind and smiled returning the bow, “Rise young one, What has brought you out here into the barren wasteland?” Ryuukaze spoke with a gentle voice. Muraku stood straight and in a position of respect, he spoke quickly out of excitement, “Ryuukaze, My name is Muraku Ogame I have been searching for you for quite some time so I may learn from the best the Style of Protegra.” After realizing how he just blurted out his thoughts, Muraku out of habit smiled and rubbed the back of his head.

Ryuukaze just smiled and looked at the boy, *He has a good build and seems able to handle my training routine.* Once he had looked over Muraku he asked some simple questions, “First question, Would you rather have power to take or the power to give?” Muraku was confused on this kind of question, *To take? Does he mean to kill, and to give, surely he means to protect.* Muraku took a deep breath and simply stated, “I want the power to give.” Ryuukaze just went straight into the next question taking note of his answer, “Why do you want to learn the way of Protegra?” Immediately Muraku blurted out, “With a strong defense, One can defeat anyone.” This actually made the Ryuukaze smile, He nodded his head and looked at the boy once more, “Final question, What is your goal in life?” Muraku almost blurted out how he wanted revenge against the mercanreys that killed his family but he stopped himself and really thought about what he wanted. After a few moments he looked at his katana and then back at the Ryuukaze and said, “I want to be the Greatest Swordsman in the Shinobi world, Being able to protect those I care about and to defeat the enemies that plague this world.”

Nodding to Muraku’s answer the Ryuukaze looked at the boy in a new view, *This boy could be the one that finally learns all that I have to teach.* Smiling The Ryuukaze simply stated that he would train Muraku in the way of Protegra but his training was not to be taken lightly. Muraku almost jumped out of joy when he heard these words, instead he simply smiled and bowed towards his new master. “Thank you Ryu-senpai.”

Description: The user swings the katana back over his head quickly, blocking a strike from behind. He then carries forward with momentum, swinging forward and downward to deflect another strike.
Limit: Must learn from a Protegera Tatsujin or higher. Must know Protegera Shi-Shu Stance.

The first technique that Muraku was going to learn from the Ryuukaze was the Sumasshu Ono, It was a basic technique that lets the user block a strike from behind and then using the momentum from that to swing your katana forward and block the strike from the front. Ryuukaze had shown him the basic movements and had pounded into his skull and body the reaction time needed to do this movement over the past couple of weeks. Muraku walked into the clearing where he had normally did his training and waiting for him were two fellow students that had agreed to help him learn this technique. One was not allowed to unsheathe their katana till they rose to higher ranks in the Style of Protegra so for now Muraku was not allowed to take his katana out of his sheathe and would have to master the Sheathe techniques before he could learn more advanced techniques.

Muraku bowed to the two other students and took the Shi-Shu stance which was the base for most of the Sheathed techniques. The two students were going to do two different strikes one would attack with a upward slash towards Muraku’s back and the one in the front would perform a simple sword thrust towards his stomach. The point of this is for Muraku to be able to reach his katana behind his head and block the upward slash from the opponent in the back then use that momentum to swing his katana forward with enough force to deflect the thrust in the front. Muraku replied the movements over and over in his head till he thought that he had gotten it down.

He signaled to the other students that he was ready to begin and prepared himself, gripping the hilt of his katana tighter then he should have been. The attack from the rear was quicker than Muraku had expected causing his movements to be tense he was barely able to make the block behind his head, the moment he had blocked the attack at his back his katana flew out of his hands he wasn’t relaxed enough to carry the momentum needed to block the thrust in the front, The student that was performing the thrust stopped the attack just a inch away from muraku’s stomach and stepped back shaking his head. Muraku retrieved his katana and stretched out his limbs, loosing up his muscles and relaxing his mind. As long as he could keep ahold of his katana after he blocked the back attack he would be able to smoothly transfer the momentum to deflect the thrust from the front.

Muraku took his stance once more replaying what he had done wrong in his head and then replayed how to correct his mistakes over and over till he knew his body would act the way it needed to. The students took their places and waited for the signal from Muraku, He took a deep breath and gave the signal. The back slash came faster this time then last but Muraku was ready he brought his katana behind his head smacking the attack down and used the momentum from that deflection to grip his katana in both hands and bring it down fast and strong enough to easily deflect the thrust towards his stomach. He smiled as he realized that he had just performed the technique without any problems.
Muraku spent a couple more hours going over and over the technique till his fellow students begged him to stop because they were getting more worn out then he was, Muraku smiled and simply told them one more time. They set up, but this time the two students switched spots performing two different strikes. Muraku settled into his stance and waited their attack they had stopped waiting for a signal from muraku hours ago to simulate the feel of real combat. The student in the back performed a thrust towards Muraku’s spine and the student performed the same move towards his left ribcage. Muraku’s movements were smooth and well trained, He brought the katana down with enough force to almost knock it out of the student’s hand and quickly used the momentum to smack the thrust to his ribcage out of the way. Muraku smiled and started laughing, walking to his fellow students patting them on the back and thanking them for their help.

The sun beat down on the creatures of the desert and anyone that happen to be caught out from under shade, Muraku still kept his smile on his face as he headed back to the clearing that had become known as his training area. Waiting there in the clearing was a buff looking student that was to help him learn a technique for deflecting a strong frontal attack. He had spent hours watching other students and the Ryuukaze perform this technique, Muraku had also spent hours trying to mime the movements which didn’t really help him at all. So he enlisted the help of a senior member to learn this technique.

He bowed to his senior and took the basic Shi-Shu stance that was now natural for him to settle into, The senior member had shown him the movements necessary for this technique and Muraku kept playing the moves over and over in his mind, you had to spin your arms making sure to arc out your katana smacking away the frontal attack the ending position should end with your arms making a cross on the right side of your body, of you then uncross your arms and return to the basic Shi-Shu stance waiting for the next attack.

The senior student began his attack with a simple overhead slash, Muraku brought his katana up first in front of him arcing out till contact with his opponents weapon then quickly spun his rear hand that was farther down the sheath causing his katana to successfully smack his opponents attack out of the way but Muraku’s grip was to loose and once his hand got to the cross position, his katana keep going and spun out of his hands almost smacking his thigh and landed on the ground. Muraku muttered under his breath at his mistake and before he picked up his katana he did his typical punishment for losing control of his weapon which was doing 50 push-ups, once he had finished he picked his katana up dusted it off and bowed to his senior.

His senior shook his head at him for carelessly making the mistake of letting his sword leave his hands against his will. A swordsman life was his sword without it he was nothing as was his sword without him, Muraku settled back into the Shi-Shu stance once more ready to try again making sure that he kept in mind he had to have better control of his sword or he was not going to be able to accomplish his dream. He nodded to his senior and once again they began the training. The strike was the same and Muraku was ready for it he made sure to keep a tighter grip this time on his Katana, Swinging the sheathed blade in a arc while he twisted his arms he allowed the end of the blade guide the strike out of the way of his body then quickly his main hand in a tight circle and upward he used the hilt of the blade to smack the attack the rest of the way.

Muraku grinned at the fact he finally was able to successfully perform the technique as it was might to be, he uncrossed his arms and returned to the Shi-shu stance nodding his head towards his senior signaling that they were nowhere near done with the training. His senior shook his head not in shame but in admiration for the young student that was so enthused to train. Muraku and his senior trained for hours on end till the sun dropped into the horizon and the stars filled the sky. Only then did Muraku stop his training the movement came naturally to him now, he was more than confident that he would be able to perform the move in combat if he had too.

Today was the day that Muraku’s master promised to teach him a high class technique that would deflect a high classed strike from any direction, this made Muraku brim with excitement and it clearly showed all throughout the day. The sun was covered in clouds this day and for once the air was decently manageable not to dry not to humid just right for training, creatures of all sorts were taking this chance to move about the land without being burnt to a crisp. Smiling as he finally arrived at the appointed place set by his master he surveyed the area to see if his master had arrived yet but sadly he hadn’t so Muraku decided to get in some extra training while waiting. Spending the next fifteen minutes he practiced his swordplay versus mental enemies, this helped him get into the right mind set for his training and it also helped his body reacted faster and smoother to his movements.

Finally his master arrived with a senior student following him, Muraku guessed that this would be his sparring partner since the fellow student was known for having a strong strike and a canny ability to move his sword to strike from just about any angle or direction. Bowing to his senior and master he patiently waited instructions how the technique that he would be learning today, his master spent the next hour explaining the movements and skills needed to be able to perform this technique. As the time went on Muraku’s excitement continued to grow upon hearing that this move in a great way of defending against strong opponents that could attack from any direction, Smiling he eagerly listened to what he needed to develop to begin learning this technique.

The movement contained the user beginning and ending in the same stance which would be the Shi-Shu stance, you would hold your sheathed katana in front of you making sure to grip it tightly so that you didn’t lose your holding on it while executing the move or making contact with the opponents strike. Moving in a tight circle with a dancing motion you spun quickly to bring the force and momentum upon your opponents attack batting it away from you and finally ending back in the Shi-Shu stance which you began in ready for any other kinds of attacks, there was seven to eight steps to performing this movement properly which once put all together would make it smooth and fluid even in the worst conditions.

First Muraku was tasked to work on making a tight circle that was smooth, fluid, and efficient which when he first heard this task he thought of how simple that it would actually be, *I mean honestly spin in a circle, How hard could that be?* Taking the Shi-Shu stance he prepared himself to begin his long training, he master quickly scolded him for thinking he was ready to even try using the stance to begin his movement, “You will begin as any newborn, No sword only using your body till you can naturally perform the movement efficiently.” Grumbling he settled his Katana next to his master for safe keeping and walked back to his starting position to which he kept replaying in his mind how exactly his master did the movement, Master’s feet moved in a dancing motion that spun his body quickly in a tight circle that left no openings for attack.

Beginning off with a simple mimic he couldn’t quite get it down on how his master moved so quickly, he would bring his feet closer together only to step on them and trip. If he widened his stance he would be to slow and wouldn’t be able to get enough speed to deflect the strike, instead of getting depressed and annoyed Muraku started to smile at the complexity of this simple movement. He would practice this part of his training till the stars fell from the sky if he had to, as he spun and spun trying different distances of his feet he started to get dizzy and winded making his concentration slowly drop. His mind was distracted and he stumbled reacting naturally he planted his foot on the ground twisting instinctively he spun in a tight circle resembling the one he had watched his master perform earlier that day. Muraku stopped for a moment and waited till his mind cleared and sipped on some water to rehydrate, replaying how he had somehow performed the movement he couldn’t quite understand how he did it.

Beginning once more he tried leaning forward to add weight and momentum to his spin then just as the turn would start he would switch his backward to the other foot which caused his center of gravity to shift spinning much faster than what he was use to he completed two rotations before he realized what had happened smiling like a fool he realized that now he had finally gotten the hang of the first step on the training to be able to spin in a tight swift circle now all he needed to do was to make it apart of his natural movements if he couldn’t do that then learning this technique and being able to perform it in combat would be impossible. Spending the next 3 hours spinning in tight circles took their toll on his body causing him to be dehydrated and dizzy beyond belief, He had to quit for the day in danger of passing out or stumbling and causing himself harm. Muraku’s world spun as he laid upon his back looking to the stars that looked as if they were falling around him, *See I told you I would continue training till the stars fell.* Sleep crept on him and he rested for the day, His master had a smirk on his face as he looked at his young pupil, “This boy has great potential, someday maybe he will be my successor of the mystic arts.”

[Muraku]

The sky was filled with clouds providing some shade for the Muraku while he entered his training area. He had spent the day before getting the beginning movement for the technique down and was ready to learn the more defined movements to make it smoother and more natural to him. Muraku set his stuff down and his katana alongside it and walked to the middle of the clearing replaying the simple movements that he had performed the day before, A simple dancing spin motion that would give him the basic momentum and power to deflect an attack from any direction. He took a deep breath and moved extremely slow going through the dancing motion to perfect any kind of random errors that happened to occur he made sure to remember the exact moment when he would need to transfer his weight to his back foot to gain that extra momentum on the spin and how far his feet needed to be apart when he took his step.

Smiling as he continued this exercise for about 2 hours refining his movement, Muraku gradually increased his speed till he finally got up to the speed that his master had performed the day before. His body was more use to the spinning motion and his endurance to the technique had greatly increased, but he honestly needed more endurance to be able to use this technique more than once in a battle so he figured that today he would spend his time working on endurance building. Muraku had already figured that he need to strengthened his calves, arms and lower back since these would be the major muscles groups that would increase his power and mobility in the technique. So already having a exercise prepared for his calves he walked over to a three foot high rock that was flat on top that would be prefect for calf dips and jumping onto that would build the explosive power of his legs.

After moving his gear over to the rock he did some practice jumps making sure that he was able to even get up that high which thankfully it was a decently easy task that would offer some challenge along the way as he would grow tired and sore. Muraku spent a good fifteen minutes stretching out his muscles so that he would cramp up during his exercise causing him to have to sit out on his training longer than needed. Smiling he began with a simple jump that would have him land on the top of the rock with only the tips of his feet on it making sure to stand up fully and do a quick calf dip he jumped down and performed this exercise doing it as a 15 repetition per set and the final set amount being five.

After completing this exercise and sipping water he assumed the push up position and would first start off with slow pushes that once you reached a certain height you would push up with a great amount of force and quickly clap your hands together working on both reaction time and strength. He would do six sets of twenty of this exercise, the first two sets gave him trouble due to him not being able to get his hands back in time to catch himself before he reached the ground. Once he got the initial rhyme of the exercise he performed this till about the fifth set where his arms burned from the strain that he was putting on them but gritting his teeth he made sure to finish strong with plenty of grunts and curse words trying to motivate himself to push past him limits and become stronger.

The final exercise that would strengthen his lower back would be a exercise where you lay on your stomach with your hands flat to the ground and touching your ears you would quickly lift your legs, upper body and arms off the ground as if you were trying to bend your body in half this would be called a king cobra due to you bringing your hands back and aligned with your shoulders which also would work your upper back muscles but not as much as your lower back.

Muraku spent a good forty-five minutes on this exercise since this would be a max set of repetitions, rolling over from the strain in his back and his other muscles he stared up into the sky smiling at the fact that he had just finished the first set of exercises he still had to do this work out three more times before he would allow himself to leave for the day. Spending the next 5 hours doing his best to finish every set of each exercise he finally finished his work out regime and decided to take a good thirty minute break letting his body cool down and stretch out to that nothing would cramp up and cause all his training to be for nothing.

Sipping water he stood up and moved to the middle of the clearing stretching out his arms and back as he made his way over there, he took the Shi-Shu stance that was the beginning point of his technique. Focusing on the needed movements he quickly acted, moving as smooth and fluid as his master had he quickly noticed the improved reaction and speed to his spin and smiled glad to know that he had found the perfect work out regime to train his body for this technique he made it a vow to continue this work out and practice the spin till it could be performed second nature this caused a lot of weird looks from the fellow villagers but he didn’t mind if it meant he would get closer to his dream he would do anything he could to accomplish it.

Upon the dawn of the next day Muraku was back in his clearing and finishing up a simple warm up routine that would get his blood pumping and get his muscles loose and limber, smiling as he watched the sun rise as the day begun he walked over to his supplies and began to sip some water and replay the day’s routine that would help him improve his reaction time for his technique. The ability to block a very strong attack from any direction means he needed to be able to reacted quite fast to anything that would pop out at him, so he had taken it upon himself to ask for help from some of his fellow students so that the attacks would be different and varied.

Muraku had spent the day before running around doing odd jobs to get the favor of his fellow students so that they would be able to take the needed time to help him with his training. For today he wanted to feel like he had majorly accomplish something which for him would be to be able to sense an attack coming or at least be more prone to moving faster to a sudden attack. His plan for the day and tomorrow would to have these students attack him suddenly with different attacks whether it be rocks, swords, sticks, etc. Muraku figured that if he could at least be able to move in response with a sudden attack then using this technique would be more usable in combat, as in a sudden attack on his life while he was walking down the street and he had to sudden use this move out of the blue.

He spent a majority of the morning explaining how he wanted things to be acted but he left what times they would strike up to the students and how they would do such up to their imagination. Smiling he would spend the next hour going through a side exercise that would work on his speed and flow of his spin which had almost become second nature to his body. He hung some logs from string at various heights to simulate different attack angles, he planned on adding a ducking motion to his spin as to get the attacks from below so that he wouldn’t be caught off guard by a low strike. Using the lower hanging logs he begin the motion with bringing his feet close and putting his weight on his front foot making sure to bend his knees and keep his center of gravity leveled so that he didn’t fall backwards while ducking and when he reached the moment when he needed to transfer his weight to his back foot to get that extra momentum and force needed to deflect the oncoming attack he made sure to rotate on the heel of his foot giving the stability of the movement and giving him a sense of joy from being able to adapt the movement to different attacks.

The next thing he would work into the movement was a backwards spin to stop attacks from the rear, just in case of the scenario of a sudden back strike. This gave him more trouble than what he had thought Muraku had to figure out a new distance for his feet and the timing to transfer his weight to his other foot to give the extra force to the movement, thinking about the movement as it normally was performed he kept mimicking it backwards making a mental note to transfer the weight from the back foot’s heel to the front foot’s upper part pretty much on the balls of the foot that would be the lead foot. He spent about 3 hours working his timing and flow of the movement in this new direction, smiling he had started to get the timing down and once more his body would simply adapt to the change in direction due to his previous training in spinning around the village like a top making the movement as if part of his natural walking habit.

Once he got the timing right he spent another hour adding to the speed and tightness of the spin making sure that it wasn’t going to leave some huge window of opportunity of attack in combat, once he was satisfied with his training he walked over to where he had put his belongings and drank some cool refreshing water. Wiping the sweat from his eye he heard a crunch of a twig behind him, startled he turned quickly and leaned back wards as the tip of a broken branch came swinging down at him, just barely dodging the attack. The holder of the weapon was a fellow student that had a grin on his face, “Well Muraku you told us it was our choice when we could make our moves.” Muraku smiled back at the student and started to prepare himself for the next stage of his training.

Muraku had sweat pouring from his body due to the intense activity that he had been put through in the past three hours, his fellow students seemed to have more of a grudge against him then what he had originally thought because they had been continuously attacking him since his first encounter back in the clearing. They all wore smiles and smirks that showed either their clear excitement to be a part of the training or maybe the burning desire to smack Muraku with something hard. The point of this stage of training was to utilize his technique of doing a quick spin in a dodging method so that his body would be trained to move and use it in combat situations in the future, the extreme downside to this training style was that Muraku could seriously get hurt by a stray hit if he didn’t keep his body on full alert.

After losing his pursers by performing the dancing motion in a clock wise then counter then clockwise once more to swerve inbetween different attacks and move smoothly across the field, Muraku took this chance to think of different ways to use this training to improve his technique, Granted this would help with his reaction and his ability to actively use the spin motion in combat but he didn’t even have his weapon so he wouldn’t be able to work on how to properly hold his katana during this stage. Muraku made sure to remember to include using his Katana next time he went through this kind of training at that time he heard a whistling through the air rolling to the left a shuriken implanted itself into the tree he had been sitting against a second ago. Pushing off into a dash he made a bee line for the thicker areas of the forest which would make it harder for his pursers to use weapons that needed to be thrown. Taking a second to sip some water he surveyed the area to look for any hidden enemies in the area, immediately he noticed about 7 students slowly closing on his position from all different angles.

Muraku immediately thought about just breaking straight through the line and getting some distance then he remembered that if he did that he wouldn’t train his technique any so moving into a slightly more opened spot he settled into the Shi-shu stance and awaited for them to surround him. The grins of the students showed their excitement and this made Muraku happy too so calmly he smiled and said to them, “So everyone having fun?” There was various snickers and chuckles from his students then the air grew tense and still, Muraku kept on full alert looking for any slight movement that would give away who was going to attack first which would happen to be the student to his back left swinging downward at his shoulder. Choosing to spin in a counter-clockwise motion to spin around that attack and to move to the right of the attacking student, Muraku quickly moved his hand out and touched the student indicating an attack this did not stop the training it was just for more mental training. Thinking to himself Muraku noticed that if he increased the distance of the steps he could easily put himself in a advantageous position for a counter attack, *Maybe I’ll see if there is some technique for that from master after this training.*

The circle formed back around Muraku and this time two students decided to attack from the front and then the direct right of him, In a heartbeat Muraku decided to dash forward inbetween the space between the students instead of using his spin to dodge, Pivoting on his lead foot he performed the spin swinging out his hand to the back of the neck of the student that had attacked him from the front once again indicating an attack. Smiling he decided to make a run for it since he was starting to get tired and he could hear the sound of more students making their way towards the group. * I need to get to my Katana so I can get the timing and power of the swing needed to deflect the attack down.* Moving towards the clearing that his stuff was at Muraku made sure to cover his tracks and continuously sipping water so that he didn’t suffer from a heatstroke during this training.

Stopping just before entering the clearing he quickly poked his head out from behind the tree to make sure it was clear, which thankfully it was making sure to plot a direct path to his gear he dashed forward toward his katana when suddenly a side ways attack came swiping from the right he quickly dropped to the ground sliding under the attack and then extending his distance by incorporating a roll into his movement he was right beside his things. Not taking a moment to look back at his new opponent he quickly snatched up his Katana and settled into the Shi-shu stance ready to begin his next stage of training, Smiling he could hear something being swung through the area at a high speed he decided to bring his lead foot back and quickly spin on the heel of the lead foot and the ball of his rear foot and begin to bring his katana around to smack the attack away as the technique was supposed to be used.

His timing was slightly off and the attack sent pain through his hand but was still deflected so it was a half and half success, he gripped his wrist and started to rub the pain away as he looked at his fellow student who happened to be a previous sparring partner earlier in the week.“So trying to get revenge from our last match?” Eyes darting around the clearing as more students begun to show up, Muraku knew that he had to hurry and leave or he would be in a disadvantageous position and it would be a cold day in hell if he would ever allow that to happen.

Deciding to take the initiative and instead of waiting for the opponent to strike he moved forward and once he saw the swing begin he started his spin making sure to place his feet correctly and keeping a firm grip on the hilt of his katana he swing it with such force he felt the students weapon leave his hand taking this time to run for an opening in the circle. The gap was actually a trap laid by the students the moment he broke through the line he was instantly surrounded by another circle made up of higher leveled students who knew to attack in pairs and even threes, Using the spin to dodge the first strike he shifted his weight and ducked underneath the second swing, The third attack was a low sweep with a staff instead of just ducking low and using the spin Muraku jumped over the attack and rolled upon hitting the ground.

Standing up he noticed that there were a lot more students in the clearing then there had been just a second ago and Muraku’s stomach started to fill a bit uneasy by the sheer number of opponents that had shown up. “Umm Ok guys this might be a bit much.” His fellow students chuckled but didn’t show any sign of stopping their movements. “So you guys really want to push me to my limits huh?” Smiling and with his mind snapping into an simple thought process of combat Muraku settled into a slightly lowered stance of Shi-shu this didn’t give him any kind of benefits or anything it was just what his body told him to do. Muraku was done trying to just train one technique now his body would react in a natural pattern fit for combat. This would be a simple test to see if he could even use the techniques that he had been training for so long, the air filled with tension and everything was still.

The students slowly closing the circle to trap and limit Muraku’s movements, waiting and watching the students he waited for the first attack his body growing restless and tense ready to spring at the first sign of attack. Everyone was still for what seemed like an hour but was only about 2 minutes and then from his right a student attacked stepping back and towards the student he brought the hilt of his katana right into the nose of student knocking him out, this caused the circle to erupt in cries of rage. Using the spinning technique Muraku deflected an attack to his rear using the momentum to transfer to the side of a student on his back right he threw an elbow into the ribs of a student causing him to bend over which Muraku slammed his head into the temple of the student dazing his opponent and ducked underneath another attack from his left. “The score is 2 to 0 you guys.” Spreading his stance wider he spun on his knee and smacked away an attack that was aimed at his legs from the right. Hooking his katana around a opponents leg he pulled towards him throwing the student off balance and just as the student landed on the ground Muraku brought his sheathed katana down on the students chest knocking the air out of him.

That was the third student out of 25 that had shown up, Muraku had gotten some blood on his face and this made him remember that day in the classroom with that snobby rich kid that beat his only friend. *More, Destroy and defend.* This thought ran through Muraku’s mind as he stood once more resuming the Shi-Shu stance.

His mind had regressed to a simpler process, his movements were smooth and quick. There was hardly any window of attack, all the training Muraku had put himself through and the extra training that he pushed himself through every day and every night shined through at this time. Having made remarkable progress in his swordsmanship he was a deadly force to be reckoned with when he was like this. Sitting in the distance was his master watching his pupil with interest, he watched silently and analyzed the situation of his students there were 22 students still standing but Master had a feeling that in a few moments that number would shrink quite a bit.

Punch after swing after kick Muraku moved like a leave in the wind striking as quick as a cobra and with the force of a swinging hammer, He got stuck in the same motion for quite a while he would simply spin in different directions changing his movement by moving his upper body in different angles. This baffled the students because they would accidently hit each other every time they tried to strike him, Muraku kept using the dancing motion of the technique to improve his dodging ability he was still grazed every once and awhile when he would forget that this was a fight and not some spar. He continued to wear that gleaming smile of his as he ducked a sideways swing and smashed the hilt of his sword into the chin of a student, quickly leaning to the left he avoided a high kick letting his body sink to the ground he planted one hand on the dirt and swung his body around clipping two students legs out from under them. Standing once again he resumed his Shi-shu stance, the total of students still in this fight was 21. The students moved slower now cautious of Muraku due to his quick and agile movements that seemed to avoid any kind of attack they used.

Suddenly three older students moved to the front of the group slowly approaching Muraku their experience obvious in their movements, watching for their attack he still wore his smile. The strike came from the front it was a simple downward slash thinking of just smacking it away Muraku moved to use a high block but suddenly the slash seemed to move direction and was coming in from the side twisting his upper body as quickly as he could he felt the tip of the sheathed Katana rip his clothing and cut his side slightly, still focused on the first attack he almost was struck with the second attack that came from the right in a thrust. Quickly he just fell to the ground in a push up position to dodge underneath the thrust, the third strike was a low spinning swing from the left, rolling backwards he did his best to distance himself from his new opponents.

Standing once more feeling the annoying pain from his cut on his side he resumed the Shi-shu stance more focused and cautious of these three students. Deciding to take the initative he dashed forward and made as if he was going to swing from the top down at the student to his direct front, he begun to pivot on his lead foot to spin to the left to deflect an defensive strike from the older student. Muraku had managed to smack his opponents katana wide enough for a quick thrust to his chest knocking the air out of his opponent’s lungs and causing him to stumble backwards, taking the momentum from the strike he followed with a quick knee to the lowered face of his opponent and successfully knocked out his opponent now there was only two of these students that he really had to worry about.

*I’m going to have to take them out one by one quickly and swiftly before this mob decides to join in.* Making sure to keep from the edge of the circle that was tighten on him so that he wouldn’t get randomly struck by the students that were watching this new development he moved slowly towards the other two students. The amount of students now was 20.

Moving with the intent of killing his opponents Muraku dashed to the left of a higher student and quickly pivoted and dropped his weight doing a backwards spin, making sure to have his katana gripped in his hand he combined the momentum of the spin to knock one of the legs of the student out from under him. Twisting some more he managed to keep the momentum and swung his katana upward towards the chin of the student successfully clipping it and knocking the student out. Now there was just one higher student that Muraku had to worry about and the mob was getting restless sensing their time to attack closing in, Smiling Muraku walked calmly towards the last higher student and suddenly pointed to the sky with a look of disbelief on his face hoping to catch the higher student off guard it almost worked the student turned his head just enough to drop his guard allowing Muraku’s sideways swing connect against the back of his skull causing instant knock out.

Standing over the student making sure he was still breathing and that he hadn’t accidently killed the guy he threw out his hand as if he was tossing a shuriken towards the mob a slight hole in their defense opened and once they realized that Muraku hadn’t thrown anything they prepared themselves for the him to try and break through the line. But to their surprise he was running towards the other side and the students on the other side were taken by surprise and dropped their guard, ducking low under a strike he brought his fist back up into the jaw of a student, leaning to left he avoided a downward slash at his back and followed it with a roundhouse kick to the students temple. Hearing something whistle threw the air he quickly used the spinning technique to deflect a strike from a large student a jolt of pain surged through his arm and he had to duck low to dodge the next attack.

Smiling he swung his leg out to try and sweep his opponents legs out from underneath them but the student just jumped over his attack. Rolling backwards he managed to get enough distance from his attacker and had to quickly roll to the side to avoid another strike from the other students. Standing up he quickly settled into the Shi-shu stance and began to spin around attacks and deflecting some as he quickly knocked out five more students. The count of the remaining students was eleven now and their confidence was starting to fade. They expected to be able to use their numbers to wear Muraku out but they didn’t account for the fact that Muraku spent hours upon hours training his body to go past its limits.

His breathing starting to get heavy Muraku would have to rely on perfecting his movements and not using any big and flashy attacks. He smiled thinking about how this stage of training would be the one thing that would train his body to react in dire situation. Muraku just hoped that he would still be able to use the spinning technique in case there were any more strong students in the mob that hadn’t come out yet.

Muraku took a deep breath trying to slow his heartbeat and focus his thoughts. *Eleven students,* scanning the field mentally tagging the closest ones to his person, *Under half of them remain and one of my arms is becoming numb.* Squaring himself up to the closest student who was slowly approaching Muraku with the remainder of the students carefully tightening their circle. Nervously, no cautiously they moved eyes darting from him to each other watching waiting coordinating realizing that if they acted foolishly, they would allow a junior beat twenty-five fellow students, at once at that. This was something their pride would not allow nor, would their teachers understand it was a mixture of fear and pride that spurred the Senior disciples to finally become serious.

Muraku kept himself in the Shi-shu stance studying, watching, waiting and slightly hoping for a mistake somewhere in this tightening circle. *I won’t make it out easily that’s for sure.* Sighing he braced himself to make a mad dash through the circle if he wasn’t able to escape then things would get grim for him quickly. Quickly he turned towards the youngest looking disciple and sprinted straight at him trying his best to sell his intent to break through the circle by using his body if he had to, to slam this kid out of the way. Muraku looked at the edges as the circle closed to follow him and just when he started to put his shoulder down to bull rush his target he saw the moment he was looking for as the student to the right of his target moved to shoulder check Muraku in an effort to counter his charge seeing the student fully commit to the charge. Muraku put his left shoulder onto the charging student and used that push to spin himself along the student’s body and turn himself through the newly opened gap in the circle giving him the distance he needed to finally go back on the offensive.

The back of the circle flowed around the two stunned students and gave chase after Muraku, the sensastion of someone breathing on his neck Muraku ducked low as he could in a full sprint just barely getting away with a slight clipping on the back of his head. *Any later and I’d be sleeping right now* Reaching out for the over stretched student’s arm he grabbed ahold and pulled the arm towards him and spun clockwise then slamming his full body weight onto the students back in an arm bar takedown hoping to have taken that one out of the fight. Muraku rolled sideways off the body and quickly got to his feet moving to the right diagonally of the group slowly chasing him. He had enough time to square up to the first chaser and blocked the downward strike of his opponent with his sheathed katana parallel with the ground smoothly allowing the left side angle downward so the force of the strike would cause the opponents weapon to slide to the left, twisting his body as he pushed the weapon toward the intended trajectory Muraku completed his rotation bringing his weapon to come swinging into the back of the students head making contact causing instant knock out.

Returning to the Shi-Shu stance Muraku heard more then anything the next attack jumping as high as he could another student’s weapon grazed this time his left leg calf causing pain and slight cramping causing Muraku to hobble a bit when he landed, acting more on instinct then thought he thrusted his weapon straight at the attackers head effectively nailing the guy’s head just above the ear. Gritting his teeth Muraku settled low beginning his spin as he caught out of the peripheral of his eye the movement of what looked to be another attack, catching the opponent’s weapons at the cross guard Muraku completed the move and used the force to pull the weapon out of the attacker’s hands. Moving close enough to smell the guy’s breakfast Muraku headbutted the student in the nose causing blood to splatter on his face and the satisfying crunch of broken cartilage. *More.* Muraku was trying to stay focused on his training but he was starting to wear out and beginning to rely more on his street fighting then his training. *Just a bit more and I can be done.*
