Guardian of the Stones (Event Main Thread)

Name: Guardian of the Stones

Plot: Located deep within the land of bears is a small village that isn't on most maps. The village has no official name and is only really known for the temple it is built around. In the centre of the temple is a chamber containing a collection 6 stones. Each stone is placed on a pedestal keeping the balance with each unique power. More than just keep the balance each stone has the ability to boost the strength of who ever trains with it providing its within the correct release. These stones are little known but very powerful and one night a group of rogue ninja banded together to break in and steal them.

All but one of the stones were taken weakening a majority of the ninja there. The only ninja strong enough to defend it were those with the sound release. Five generals of the rogue ninja took a stone each and the 6th was killed. The ninja tried to chase them but with the stones powers their strength was already increasing and they escaped. All was not lost though as the final stone was still within the temple along with a rogue ninja that had been trapped. The reasons for stealing the stones were unclear and interrogation wasn't working. The remaining ninja weren't strong enough to do the task. They did however find out that all 6 were needed for the plan and that more ninja will be back to collect the final stone.

Worried about this they sent a message to the lord of the land of Bears who then passed the message out to all Shinobi nations. Help was needed for the land of bears and stopping the threat there may help stop it spreading to other nations.

Your task will be to Guard the remaining stone, Locate and retrieve the five stolen and interrogate the ccaptured ninja for more information. To do so upon arrival you will be split into teams to either guard, interrogate or search.

For the past few days since the letters were sent Kora has been awaiting the ninja from a top of the temple. Being one of the few shinobi who can still fight to a high standard she took sole gaurd duty of the final stone. Meanwhile two other shinobi were currently trying to get information out of the trapped shinobi but to their dismay they couldn't get any out of him. They decided to give it a little break and await the shinobi who were hopefully going to arrive shortly.

After hours of interviewing locals about the location of the temple that he was searching for, he finally found himself in a clearing where a small village seemed to be built around a large temple looking structure. The crazy old guy he had asked was apparently right despire his doubts. Due to Akira's Tasukeru he was the perfect ninja to send on a mission like this. Anything within 50 meters of himself he can see, so finding missing stones would be on his strong suit. He just hoped there would be other ninja to take on the brunt of battles, as he was not feeling up to long dangerous fights with powerful ninja.

He approached the main entrance and walked inside, hoping that he wouldn't have to activate his Tasukeru just to find the people he was reporting to. If he wasn't able to find them through looking around aimlessly, then he would eventually activate his Tasukeru and search for the person who looked most concerned, the person of authority that is.

Assuming that any combination of attempts to find this person succeeded he would approach that person and introduce himself. "I am here from Otogakure, you sent for help?"

She made her way to the top of the impressive stone temple. Her being was void of weaponry. Her skills and charm were all she really needed anyways! Her bubblegum pink hair streamed around her shoulders like ribbons. When she saw another female at the top of the stones she broke out into a smile. It was nice to see more females! There was also a boy there, she spared him a quick glance before looking back to the woman. "Hi there. I'm Ran, here to help out. My friend Yuuki should be here shortly!" She explained as she awaited a run down of what was happening, perhaps even directions on what to do.

Upon the winds of rumor, Reuna had searched for quite some time and questioned a few friendly citizens of the country about the small village’s whereabouts. Indeed,, as they said, it was not on any map, so even if she had searched for it using a map… she wouldn’t have found. But, once she had followed word from mouth, eventually a small village and temple loomed out over the horizon. Ah, almost there. She hurried along her pace, allowing her anticipation to excel her further along.

Once she was along the way, she could spot figures around the top of the temple. So then she wasn’t first? Well, somehow, she felt good about that. A mission request for shinobi where a regular citizen supposedly showed up to do the job first? It wouldn’t have set right with her. It then occurred to her, that she should check amongst her equipment. Hm… it seemed all she had was 7 kunai, 2 knives, and a short sword. At least, that was the only thing worthy for combat that she carried. Everything else seemed to be useless junk. Hm… well, an investigator didn’t have to be equipped for war, as an investigator would usually have some form of team around her to work with, but she’d have to fix this at some point.

As she made her way up the foot of the temple, she would wave to the people up at the top. No identifiable shinobi gear could be seen on her, as well no headband, as she didn’t have one. She only hope she wouldn’t be turned away, once they found out she was no shinobi. This just seemed too much fun to pass up. Maybe she’d after this case with a few friends. There wasn’t as many people around as she thought would show up for request, but perhaps these were simply the earlier comers. “I’m Reuna, from Moyoushi’s Bureau of Investigation and Security. Please to meet you. If it wouldn’t be too much of a bother, could you recap on everything that’s happened, once we believe everyone is here?”

Somehow I managed after many attempts to catch up with Ran, even though by the number of people present we had already arrived. I rushed up to the top of the temple and put a hand on Ran's shoulder.

" Sorry. I got lost while looking at the things around me." I explained while I was out of my breath. Then remembering the people around I hid behind Ran and whispered a quiet "Hello!" to everyone. I felt unprepared when I looked at them.

My robe covered my butt bag that had some necessary equipment I didn't even know how to use and well covered me pretty well too. I was afraid not to get sunburned. I just hoped I could be a little useful to the people here and hoped I'd get instructions as I'd be lost without them. I kept behind Ran looking curious around. What had I gotten myself into ?

Kora looked down from a top the temple noticing 4 strangers, she leapt off the top and landed near the four with her hair not moving an inch out of place. She held her flute in hand and was in her typical kimono looking the 4 stangers up and down Hello, my name is Kora. You must be here about the letter sent out? Assuming their anwser was yes as there would be no other reason to arrive she began to go through what had happened.

Two nights back a group of rogue shinobi attacked our village and made with 5 of our 6 ancient stones. Each stone provides a shinobi of the corrosponding release a large amount of power. Luckily we managed to save one stone, the Sound stone. She looked around making sure everyone was following. They split off into different directions but during the fight we managed to capture one of the shinobi alive. To be frank we need these stones back, and i would do anything to get them back. he speech was oddly out of character due to the worry for her village and stones.

Let me get right down to the point, they have split off taking the stones in different directions. as far as we know there is one general who carries the stone and some 'grunts'. You can either split off and go invidiually or go as a group but please, we beg of you, we need those stones back soon. Her eyes reflect the natural worry she had for the village's well being. I can stay and guard for now and will hold back maybe one or two more shinobi if they turn up, i will need their help interrogating a prisoner, that is unless one or two of you would like to do that? She was being very direct around this emergancy situation and was awaiting their anwsers.

There were four of them, and a total of 5 stones missing. One was held by the enemy leader. If they knew the directions each grunt went in it would seem natural to send one ninja for each grunt, then team together to fight the leader, if all assumptions pointed that they were completely seperate. However their informant didn't appear to know a ton of information about who these bandits were, more importantly how strong they were. Akira didn't know the strength of his comrades either, so it was would be too much of a gamble to go out individually. He concluded that they should stick together, however because of the prospect of a 6th or 7th bandit coming to take the sound stone, defense should be considered. He wasn't sure if it would be best to make a 3-1 split on offense defense, or the even 2-2. He was a quick thinker, so the thought only took a second or two to be concluded.

He turned away from his teammates putting his hand to his chin to show he was in deep thought, while he was really turning to hide that he activated his Tasukeru. He scanned each member of his team for bloodlimits, he wanted to know which ones had them even though he probably couldn't figure out they exact nature of each. Ran and Reuna had different bloodlines while yuuki was normal. He also saw the weapons they had hidden. Ran was the only one not carrying any weaponry, which meant as long as she was a semi competent ninja, she focused in either ranged ninjutsu or a hand to hand fighting style. He deactivated his Tasukeru and turned toward the three girls to tell them his thoughts. "We should split into two group, three of us should stick together and find the missing stones while one of us stays with Kora to help defend and interrogate. Splitting up entirely would be too dangerous when we are outnumbered as it is." His voice expressed little emotion and made clear his detached nature from things. He awaited their response. As an after thought he considred splitting up 2-2 and having each group go for two different stones to speed things up while Kora stayed and defended the remaining stone. He would wait and see what his team had to say before giving any more input.

If they agreed with him then he would volunteer himself as one of the search party members because he had tracking abilities that were better put to use out there than as a defender in the temple.

He also noted to himself that he was the only guy in the whole group, which he found odd since there tended to be more guys in the overall ninja population than girls. It caught him off guard as he realized it, but showed no outward expressions that signified this.

Tasukeru (Seeing Life)
Rank: C, B, A, S
Skill: Doujutsu
Effect: Allows a full three hundred and sixty (360) degree field of vision and some predictability to physical attacks. Unlike Byakugan, the user sees life in its normal colors during this tech, no details spared. Signs of life, thermal readings and X Ray vision is near perfect. Can also read and determine the difference of a regular shinobi to that of one with a bloodline or if they house any foreign presence by the different chakra waves displayed when observed through Tasukeru. This does not mean one knows the BL right away. Must have encountered the BL before in order to know exactly who they are. The ‘C’ ranked version grants the user up to 50 meters of observing. Each new rank for the Jutsu will add 50 more meters. This can be trained multiple times after all the ranks are achieved in order to add 50 meters onto one’s total. Each extra training is worth an S ranked training.
Special: Although one is born with this jutsu, one must activate the eyes through training.
Drawback: Heavy chakra drain over time, especially when multiple phases of the Tasukeru are accessed. While Taijutsu can be predicted, the Onigami are not designed to have fast twitch muscles. As such, perfect blocking simply won’t happen all the time.
Description: Summoned through will, the scarlet eyes of the Onigami will grow a very vibrant neon red and all life becomes theirs to fully observe. Once activated, the user has a three hundred and sixty (360) degree field of vision, as well as the ability to see into other people’s bloods. For those allied to an Onigami, this jutsu is revered for making the Onigami known as the ultimate scouts.
Limit: Must be part of the Onigami BL.

As soon as Zeakash arrived in the land of bears he had gone straight to the local inn trying to get a sense of where the hell he was supposed to be. He knew he was late and because of that he was rushing more than he should have, hopping from place to place trying to find a local who knew where the stones were kept. He had been directed to a small village, which had been marked on his map the entire time, where the temple was located. Cursing for his stupid he rushed deeper into the land of bears towards the small temple village. This time using his map as the guide.

About an hour later Zeakash reached his destination, he walked into the perimeter of the village it dawned on him that this was his first ever mission. He checked all of his pockets in his black cloak, making sure his four frag grenades, sixteen kunai, three knives, and twenty fake explosive tags were all in their respective places. Moving a hand to his back he would feel his large scythe attached there. Happily realizing that he was all ready for battle he moved closer to the temple. Nodding his head to the few locals he noticed on his way there. They weren't as surprised as Zeakash thought they would be, sense they were in such a small village he doubted the villagers had ever seen ninja before.

Pushing the thought to the back of his mind Zeakash began to quickly run up the grey stone steps. Around halfway the ninja would begin to tire, having traveled almost full speed from Konoha to this small village his energy wasn't at the highest it could be. And as he reached the top of the stairs his dark skin would glisten with sweat and his small dreds would flop down over his forehead to his eyebrows. He would spend a few moments at the top, hands on his knees, bent over and breathing heavily before he would look up and see the assembly of people already there.

From what he could see there were three girls, one with bright pink hair, another girl hiding behind her, with robe. A third girl would be standing nearby. She had long black hair, with a red bow, Zeakash couldn't really see any faces sense he was behind the group. There was one boy, or what Zeakash thought was a boy. He had medium sized white hair, and seemed to be a tad younger than Zeakash. Moving up so that he would be to the left of the male Zeakash would see another person, she was beautiful, with long flowing black hair, and a white kimono. She was carrying a flute on her and she seemed to have just finished speaking about sometime, as she looked expectant.

Taking this moment to speak Zeakash would clear his throat and say, “Hello, I'm Zeakash Genkyo, from Konoha, sorry I'm late. How can I help?” His first mission had begun.

"I don't know exactly how helpful I would be in a fight... but interrogation really isn't my style." She looked back to her new friend and smiled. "What do you say Yuuki? Up for some more adventure?" She asked. Looking back to the guard she regained a seriousness upon her face. "Do you know where the headed? Or are we just supposed to fumble around the globe asking for rumors about a stone?" There was no judgement in her words, just an honest question that would decide just how difficult this trip would be.

The first of the two later arrivals seemed to be pretty shy. Even though she was about her age, she hid behind her friend, the pink haired girl. No one who had yet to arrive seemed to be too old. Everyone appeared to be a few years older or a few years younger. But everyone seemed receptive, so… perhaps it was fine this way? In either case, as per requested, the kunoichi explained the situation for all who were present. She could tell a great measure of distress in her words and expressions, but like some of the others had pointed out, there wasn’t a great deal of details about their opponents, aside from the fact that they took off, and would eventually come back.

“Well, if you guys would like to go off and search aimlessly, be my guest. I’m not necessarily too great of a field fighter, so I suppose I could stay here. Or I could go. I work well with support, and my abilities won’t suffer as long as there are shadows. But someone should definitely stay behind to help. Any volunteers? If not, I suppose I’ll stay.”

She counted the heads, coming to a grand total of 5, including herself, but she wasn’t concerned with telling anyone with what to do. Rather, she still didn’t exactly know what they were going to do yet, granted, they’d just arrived.

I smiled at the people around and looked at Ran.

" Well I'm not really a good fighter and not useful either in battle, but if I'm allowed, I'd really like to stay with Ran and so go searching. I guess I'm up to some bit of adventure."

I turned my head towards the other and while playing with my black and white hair i asked

" Ummm well you know .... I hope it doesn't bother you.. or inconvenience..or well umm... If it's not ok tell me what to do and I will. An also if i do something wrong"

I looked down suddenly worried about my lack of skills and waited for an answer.

Welcome, thanks for coming. She spoke to the new arrival then turned hearing someone offer to stay behind. That would be amazing. As she spoke a hawk egan to circle above the group before landing on Kora's arm squaking. Ths is the hawk that went after the fire stone... If your going, follow it, it will lead you on the way. If your staying please come with me. She was being very direct as she knew she had to be in this situation.

She sent the hawk into the air and it began circling most of the shinobi before flying off towards the general who stole the fire stone. Follow the hawk, he will guide you, she pointed at the final person and gestured for her to follow. Let me take you to the prisoner, he is held within the ruins.

Based on each individual's confidence in their abilities as a whole the team did not seem promising. Hopefully they were just being humble, otherwise this might indeed end up being a more difficult mission than he anticipated. He looked at the others, they had enough people that one or two could stay behind, the kimono girl was staying at the temple, one more could stay if they wanted and it wouldnt be a huge hindrance. He didn't care enough to make a point of it though.

He nodded to Kora after she gave instruction to the group on how to get to the fire stone. Follow the bird. He gave no warning as he made a few leaps down the stairs of the temple and with or with out his team he was running in the direction of the bird, keeping a pace to stay just behind it enough to see it without straining his neck.

Looking at the small group of people around him, Zeakash wondered how he would ever complete the mission. None of them seemed exceptionally strong, of course he wasn't the strongest ninja around either. The woman had been talking about a fire stone. Zeakash figured that it was one of the stones that the mission had been talking about. Saying, “I'm sorry but I'm not to good at staying still, I'll go after the stone.” She said to follow the hawk to its destination, and looking up Zeakash saw the said hawk flying away.

Turning to follow it Zeakash sprinted down the stairs and jumped into the nearby pine trees, using the branches to keep a bit above the ground, but also staying a little bit behind the bird, so that he could see it without looking up to much. He was guessing that he would need to retrieve the stone and bring it back. So he would, without fail. He couldn't fail his first mission.

"Yeah Yuuki stays with me." Ran said decidedly. "Let's get going." She said with a look back to Yuuki and a smile.

Reuna watched as everyone else began to depart for their respective targets, following a hawk which supposedly knew the path. Being the part of their party that would stay behind, she watched until either the group disappeared, or the chuunin began to lead away. “Lead the way, Kora-san. I don’t know how well of an interrogator I’ll make, but I’ll do whatever I can.” As she followed the shinobi, she’d try to glance about and get a good feel of the environment. She’d monitor the amount of light, the approximate area, and the number of entrances there were. After all, it was very likely this place would come under attack. It would be better to know what kind of area she’d be working with now, rather than later.

“Excuse me, Kora-san. But, has the captive revealed any sort of information? And what kinds of interrogation have you tried? Oh, also, where is the last stone kept? Is it a place that can be defended easily?” When they made it to the captive, Reuna would remain calm, composed, and quiet, while she tried to observe the captive and see what kind of conditions he was currently held in.

I hurried after Ran and smiled to myself and slightly looking back over my shoulder at the one that decided to stay. Then I put my eyes on Ran's back and followed her.

Kora lead the way after a quick farewell to all the others and walked alongside Reuna. We havent had any information out of the man yet, we have tried various types of interrogation including the more drastic sorts. The only thing we havent used is genjutsu as aside from me there aren't any genjutsu users. The last stone has is currently being held in a pouch around my neck. and i am keeping it safe.

Shortly after they arrived in the heart of the temple where in a cage above a spiked pit a captive was held. It was primitive yes, but it was also effective. I know its barbaric but it is the best to do for now, tell me when you're ready and i will get the captive lowered for you

Tonou Hozuki would arrive finally with all his gear on, a grey tan robe cascaded over his earth tone outfit, and the Kage's hat on his head. He would rise up the steps of the Great pyramidal structure and make his way over to the entrance where he would find thing's to be already underway. Tonou would take his hat off at the entrance and seek the people who would send the ninja to their proper divisions.

"Hello, My name is Tonou Hozuki...I am going to help out with your peril's...What do you need of an extra hand?" Tonou would say this while taking his hat off and letting it hang by the string around his neck. He would look around the inner stone structure of the pyramid and be slightly reminded of his own homeland of stone. He wondered if any other's would show up from the village as he had sent an village message for any who wwanted some adventeure outside the dreadful village.

Reuna had carefully tried remembering the path throughout the temple that had gotten her here by Korra’s guiding. It didn’t seem too hard of a task to get here, so she was relieved a bit. If she needed to leave and give chase to someone, it shouldn’t be difficult to do so, unless the target was fast. It bothered her a bit though, to be so deep inside of such a place. The closeness wasn’t something she was too fond of, but she’d deal with it for now, since she came here of her own volition. Once they got to the cage which held the captive, Reuna listened in on how they had carried out their operation thus far.

“I see. And the reason you haven’t tried genjutsu yet is because as the stones protector, you can’t get too involved, right?” At least, that was the assumptions she had made, which would have made sense to her, if Korra didn’t wish to jeopardize the last stone. “It’s alright, don’t bother lowering the cage for now. I can start trying from here. And if he’s a prisoner and attempted thief he doesn’t need modern accommodations, if you were to ask me.”

The right sleeve of her kimono slightly wafted upwards towards the man in the cage. After settling for a moment. A few specs of black would form out her loose fitting sleeves, quickly forming into a sort of black mist within a moment’s time. The mist would emit a low buzzing sound as hundreds to thousands of tiny wing beats would fill the air. The mist was, in fact, Reuna’s kikaichu. The swarm of bugs would fly upwards around the cage, encircling it loosely.

“Mr captive,” using a semi sweet tone, she’d call upwards over the sound of the bugs, “would you mind telling me you name? It seems I’m to interrogate you, but my bugs appear to be more interested in a meal. Perhaps you can talk to me for a bit while they feast. Is that alright?”

With that said, she would instruct a few of her kikaichu to start biting into the man as if they intended to eat him. She’d wait for him to respond to her initial question, but if no answer came quick enough, more of the kikaichu floating outside the cage would begin swarming aside every 20 twenty seconds until a reply was given. They’d attach towards the skin on his arms and neck initially, if it was exposed and begin eating his chakra afterwards, they’d begin biting into the flesh until the man began to talk for about a minute.

Without losing the sweetness of her tone, she ask again. “So, is there anything you would like to tell me? Quickly now, or they’ll get more restless. Maybe, you might want to tell me about your comrades? Who are they? Where are they from? Maybe how many of them there are?” If there were still no answers, more of the swarm would gather upon his body. “Ok, that’s okay. But how’s this? Ever minute that goes without an answer, more of these bugs will swarm upon you. They’ll crawl under you clothes and begin eating your skin. As time passes, they’ll cover every inch of skin and when they’ve finished that, they’ll begin burrowing into your body. I can only imagine what they’ll do at that point.”

“Oh, well, hello Tonou-san. I’ve never interrogated a shinobi before am I doing it properly.”
