Weapons
Primary Weapon:
Secondary Items: CLOAK TYPE 3*
Kunai (Overview) (2 slots)
Rank: "C" Rank
Type: Secondary, 2 per Slot, Piercing/Slashing, Knife
Effect: A digging tool, a bit like a trowel. The blade was soft iron and unsharpened because the edges were used to smash plaster and wood, to dig holes and to pry. Also used as a knife.
Special: ---
Drawback: ---
Description: The kunai is conventionally wrought in ranges from 6 to 8 inches, with the average at 7 inches. The kunai was used by common folk as multi-purpose gardening tools and by workers of stone and masonry. The kunai is not a knife, but something more akin to a crowbar. The blade was soft iron and unsharpened because the edges were used to smash plaster and wood, to dig holes and to pry. Normally only the tip would have been sharpened. The uses to which a kunai was put would have destroyed any heat-treated and sharpened tool like a knife. There could be multiple kinds of kunais such as handless ones, or even double sided kunais as long as they are within the same length.
Limit: These types of items may be capable of being bought inside any Weapon Shop.
Cost: 1,000 Ryo per Slot, or 500 Ryo Each.
Hira-Shuriken (Overview) (8 slots)
Rank: "C" Rank
Type: Secondary, 15 per Slot, Piercing, Shuriken
Effect: Is a concealed weapon that is generally for throwing, and sometimes stabbing or slashing.
Special: ---
Drawback: ---
Description: Hira-shuriken is constructed from thin, flat plates of metal derived from a variety of sources including hishi-gane (coins), and kugi-nuki (carpentry tools), and generally resemble popular conceptions of shuriken. In modern popular culture, these are called "throwing stars" or "ninja stars". They often have a hole in the center and possess a fairly thin blade sharpened only at the tip. The holes derive from their source in items that had holes - old coins, washers, and nail-removing tools. This proved convenient for the shuriken user, as well, as the weapons could be strung on a string or dowel in the belt for transport, and the hole also had aerodynamic and weighting effects that aided the flight of the blade after it was thrown. There is a wide variety of forms of hira-shuriken and they are now usually identified by the number of points the blades possess.
Limit: These types of items may be capable of being bought inside any Weapon Shop.
Cost: 1,500 Ryo per Slot, or 100 Ryo Each.
Bolas - Boleadora (3 Weights) (Overview) (4 slots)
Rank: "C" Rank
Type: Secondary, 4 per Slot, Bludgeoning/Slashing, Soft Weapon
Effect: Throwing weapon made of weights on the ends of interconnected cords, designed to capture animals by entangling their legs.
Special: ---
Drawback: ---
Description: A cord with weights attached to the ends for throwing at and entangling an animal. The cord is up to 2 meter in length while divided into 3 parts and attached to 3 - 10 gram weights that is 1.5 inches in diameter.
Limit: These types of items may be capable of being bought inside any Weapon Shop.
Cost: 2,000 Ryo per Slot, or 500 Ryo Each.
Lock Picking Kit (1 slot)
Rank: "C"
Type: Secondary, 1 per Slot, Accessory, Tool Kit
Effect: A tool Kit used for opening Locks.
Special: ---
Drawback: ---
Description: Picture There are different things within the Lock Picking Tool Kit. The tension wrench, is used to apply torque to the lock plug to keep pins from being pushed back down by springs after they are correctly set at the shear line. It is usually anywhere from 1/16th inch to 1/8th inch wide, bent into an L, and occasionally has a quarter twist on the long side. The hook pick is self explanatory, it is similar to the half diamond pick, but has a hook shaped tip rather than a half diamond shape. The hook pick is sometimes referred to as a 'feeler' and is generally used to lift the pins individually, rather than 'rake' them simultaneously. A warded pick is a device for opening warded locks. It is generally made to conform to a generalized key shape relatively simpler than the actual key used to open the lock; this simpler shape allows for internal manipulations.
Limit: Universal Item. Capable of being bought anywhere that is a shop.
Cost: 2,000 Ryo per Kit
Non-Weapon Items
Cloak Type 3 (Overview)
Rank: "C"
Type: Main, Tailor, Slot Holder, Holds 15 Slots (15 for Items of Scroll Length), Cloak/Harness
Effect: A Cloak that holds an amount of items inside without giving a hint that the cloak may actually hold items inside.
Special: ---
Drawback: ---
Description: Picture A Harness and Cloak that attaches to one another. This harness is attached to the chest to be held up right that have long strips of leather reaching down to the cloak that attaches to the end of the cloak. Consider each strip to be a thick belt that attaches to the chest harness. Each harness has 5 pouches that holds 1/2 a slot each. Personality:
Appearance:
Background:
Akira grew up as a fairly normal child other than his red eyes. His brothers had black hair while he had white, but it was not seen as a defect, just simply something inherited from his mother’s side of the family. His grandfather had naturally white hair. His father came to hidden leaf as a refugee from a ninja village in the land of moon, after he and his clan was betrayed. He was the only one to survive the massacre. About a year later the village got information that the premises for the kill order on the Shimura clan were false. The Shimura clan was well loved by a majority of the village for their chivalry and virtue but the Kage at the time defended his decision even in the face of obvious evidence he was wrong. Civil war erupted and the the sides became clear, but at the end of it all, no one won. It was a three day war that ended with the Kage using a powerful kamikaze jutsu killing not only the enemy ninja, but his own loyalists. The village was left basically uninhabitable in the state it was in from the destruction of the jutsu and the survivors were too few to rebuild, so they moved to the tourist cities toward the center of the island, leaving it in ruin and rubble but still remaining true to what it was, hidden and untouched by all but the moon light.
His father’s goal was to restore the village, but after having a family his priorities changed. He wanted a good life for his wife and children, to raise them to become good honorable men. He always told stories about the Hidden ninja village in the land of moon, about dangerous missions he was sent on, his father the head of the Shimura clan and leader of the jounin council. He told him of the wonder days he spent sitting by the beach under the moon light on the beautiful Island that was the land of Moon. He spoke so fondly of it, slowly it became a part of Akira’s dream to restore the village and bring it back to its former glory and at the same time restore the Shimura clan. His father stopped telling stories about it when Tekato was old enough to hear them out of request of his mother and his father’s own personal decision of no longer dwelling on the past. Akira held on to the dream through his youth though, but in secret because he did not want his father to know until he was going to make a move to get it done. After training from the time he was 5 in the art of Gyakusatsu until he was 12 and passed his father’s test he graduated at the top of his class at the academy and was assigned to a group of genin. A nara, Yamanaka, and the jounin who was a medic. He went on the team was successful but held back from the chuunin exams twice because they were not yet mature enough in the eyes of their sensei to advance. To become stronger Akira and his teammates trained eachother, the nara taught Akira some of his clan’s basic jutsu, and the Yamanaka did the same. In return he helped his teammates formulate better battle plans and helped them train their minds to create ones just as good. When Akira turned thirteen everything seemed to go to hell. His brother Tekato was going to graduate from the academy in a few months, but their father was becoming weak from an illness. Akira knew the illness was probably a temporary flu, but his father was a powerful ninja who made dangerous enemies just by being the man he was. He was a man of good moral and ethical character and took action by it. Naturally his enemies became the evil men he acted against. Akira was the only son who knew of this secret and never told his brothers. He knew at his weakened state there was a good chance ninja would use this as a chance to strike him down, so he trained every day, woke up earlier and went to bed later, and trained twice as hard so that he could defend his family if he needed to.
Only a week after his birthday he and his team were sent on a B ranked mission which turned into an A rank. It was a relatively simple mission, take out a group of bandit scoundrels held up in the woods 100 miles outside Konoha. The intel that didn’t seem to make it to the Hokage’s ear was that they were a group of Jashinists, faithful ones at that, who were just able to maintain the appearance of lowly thieves and highwaymen. When Akira’s team confronted them, they found that their offensive jutsu and weapons didn’t seem to have any effect on their health. Akira even decapitated one but he just laughed at Akira’s horror as his head rolled on the ground. Akira’s team were far more skilled than the bandits but they had them out matched in endurance (and they were skillful enough to stop themselves from having most of their limbs cut off). Akira’s team was quickly out matched. His team leader initiated retreat. They regrouped and ran off back toward konoha, but the Jashinists made haste after them. They seemed to have ninja among them that were faster in speed than Akira’s exhausted team, they were gaining. Akira’s sensei told them to go on without her, she was going to hold them off for as long as they could. Akira and his team reluctantly followed her orders. A minute later they heard a faint scream in the distance behind them. Akira had never felt so scared in his life, it was like a horror movie, they were catching up and they couldn’t run forever, it was just a matter of time. His teammate naru a member of the nara clan knocked out Akira while they were running and hid his body in a hollow tree. His friends Naru of the Nara clan and Lira of the Yamanaka Clan were just about to find hiding spots themselves when the enemy caught up to them. They stood their ground there, but their bodies fell limp no farther than 5 meters from Akira’s body. Akira awoke to darkness, it was pitch black night time. He knew what happened, Naru knocked him out to hide his body. Akira figured Naru was thinking that Akira would never agree to hide so he had to make a decision, which was probably true, akira would have rather fought than hide. Akira hoped his teammates found good hiding spots too, but it was questionable since he remained unmoved from his hiding location while unconscious. With that in mind Akira slowly and silently moved to a position where he could see outside the opening in the tree. He saw his friends hanging on trees by nails stuck in their hands while jashinists did their sacrificial ritual on the ground. He was wrought with anger and suddenly his Onigami blood limit activated in his eyes. He was suddenly able to see… everything. Each of their positions, their chakra, and even the ones who had rare blood limits. He got up and used the chance to surprise his enemies, with his sword in hand he decapitated two of them at once before the group realized what happened. He knew that their heads didn’t automatically get sewn back on when they were sliced off so he could at least disable them. He also knew they were not skilled and if they were normal people he had a decent chance of taking them on by himself anyway, they were just tough to kill. His new eyes allowed him to see there every movement more clearly and react to them with more efficiency. He had no trouble finding openings in their defenses while he kept up his. He decapitated all 13 of them one by one, then buried their head in different spot about 100 meters away from their body’s location. Each one was yelling and screaming so he gagged them with shreds of the garb’s from his dead comrades, so they could symbolically avenge their own deaths. Each head was buried about 5 meters apart with no headstone (pun?). He then proceeded to cut up the remaining bodies and bury those as well. His Tasukeru deactivated and he felt drained afterward, it was a chakra intensive technique it seemed. He gathered the bodies of his comrades sensei and hid Lira and their sensei’s body in the hollowed tree. He took Naru’s body back with him, Naru was his closest thing to a friend he had. No tears shed on his journey back to the village. He tried activating his Tesukeru but was unable to. He let the hokage know what happened and the ANBU went and got the other two bodies. Akira attended their funerals, and to some people’s distaste, he showed no sign of tears or intense sadness. He looked solemn as he stared at their caskets being lowered into the ground. He felt no sadness, and no urge to cry, only a the familiar feeling that he got at the end of a good book. There was no bond strong enough to make him cry, though he did wish they were still alive. He wished for it greatly, but no matter how much he wished they wouldn’t come back.
Akira went home and said nothing of it to his family, about what happened or about his eyes. His father knew but didn’t confront him about it, knowing his son Akira would talk to him when he needed to, and was emotionally stable enough that he wouldn’t need to if he didn’t. Akira was put on vacation by the hokage, not being sent on missions until his brother’s graduation. Akira spent his time off training his eyes, in attempt to learn how to activate them whenever he wants. He was finally able to take control of the Tasukera and activate it at will.
A few days later the disaster struck. Akira came home from his first solo mission since the and his little brother Hiro was crying over the bodies of their mother and father. Akira ran and grabbed his little brother and ran out the door. Who killed them, why was Hiro spared, where was Tekato? Those questions raced through his mind. It was very late at night, no one was up. He ran toward the Nara clan household, he was close with that clan and knew them well. His mother was a member and lived there before she married his father, so he was actually related to the Nara clan. Tekato and Hiro didn’t know this yet, Akira was told by his mother, and as a graduation gift allowed to train asa clan member and learn their techniques. Tekato just graduated and had not been told yet, and Hiro was obviously in the dark. Half way there a dark figure appeared in the street in front of him. It was fast. The figure was tall and wearing a large hooded coat covering his body. He had two blooded swords drawn. Akira glared at him and his eyes began glowing red. Hiro started crying because he recognized the hooded figure as the man who killed their parents. Akira heard the sliding of metal against metal and the blades he carried shot up into his sleeves. The man chuckled and turn away from then, and moments he later vanished from sight.
Akira rushed to find Tekato, using his Tesukeru to track down his location. It took about ten minutes. He was at his usual training spot, unconscious, there was another kid there who he didn’t know. He put a blind fold around Hiro’s eyes to protect him from the sights. When he arrived his mother and father were hanging by trees, and to their right another unknown family hung lifeless. However there were two other bodies, he immediately recognized them as lightning struck and lit up the area. They were Akira and Hiro, or bodies that looked like them anyway. Akira took a kunai and made a cut on his own leg; it remained Akira which meant it wasn’t a normal clone. He heard a subtle swoosh from behind him and he looked at the man who murdered his family. “Those are real, as far as anyone knows you’ll be dead.” Akira’s eyes widened in fear and anxiety. This man seemed to be looking through his soul, and knew him better than he did. Why would the man think that Akira wanted to disappear. He was right, this would be the first step to restoring his village. What was with this guy. “Who are you?” Akira asked him.
The man didn’t say anything. He just smirked and said. “I could use a good apprentice…” it was dark male voice, perhaps manipulated to sound like that to mask his real voice.
Akira held on to Hiro tighter and pointed his kunai to Hiro’s throat. “I’d rather he die than go with you.” His eyes narrowed as he stared at the hooded man.
The man just laughed and was instantaneously in front of Akira and had his hand around his arm, disabling him from moving it. He threw Akira to the ground and knocked out Hiro. Akira activated his Tasukeru and got up to attack him with his sword. The man vanished and he couldn’t even track him down in the area with his Tasukeru. He was gone. Akira fell to his knees, staring at his own hanging body. Why is this happening…? He thought. He got up and walked over to Tekato.
He looked at Tekato who was unconscious about 10 feet from another black haired boy who he remembered seeing graduate at the top of Tekato’s graduation class. They must have been sparring because the scratches and cuts on them appeared intentionally not lethal. Apparently they knocked each other out. Soon they were going to wake up to the horror before them. Akira’s heart began to race, what was he going to do. Tekato was oblivious to what happened. His eyes widened and his breathing was heavy.
Akira looked down at his younger brother Tekato. A tear rolled down his face as he realized his decision. He took his still drawn blade and sheathed. He walked away from Tekato’s unconscious body knowing he would wake and be under the impression he and Hiro were dead. Tekato didn’t need the burdens that would have existed if he stayed, and he needed to leave anyway, this was the perfect opportunity. He loved his brother and wanted to be happy, his path to joy would be here. Akira’s journey, was not.
Akira grabbed a black cloak from his house and wore it over his shoulders. He put the hood up to cover his identity and then left the village. In case he was followed and someone saw his face under his hood he wore a mask and a blind fold. He would be able to see through it easily with his Tasukeru. He jumped on tree limbs to run so he wouldn’t leave any foot prints and was soft in his step to leave no marks. He used his Tasukeru to check if he was being followed periodically. No one followed him, he must have left unnoticed. He eventually came to a village called Rashtan 30 miles or so outside Konoha. He knew a man who lived there that he could spend the night with and confide in. He was his great uncle on his mother’s side.
He spent the night there and the man offered that he could stay for as long as he liked, and advised he at least stayed a few days to collect himself and plan his first move. Akira agreed and ended up training with the man for a while (about 4 months all together) until he got his uncle’s approval to leave. While staying in the village outside Konoha he often went into the village to tail and check on Tekato, to see how he was doing, he realized Tekato was going to try to avenge his family and would lead a path of misery that Akira had already decided was his burden, and his alone. So Akira in secret asked an acquaintance of his to perform genjutsu on Tekato while he slept so that he could have a dream of his dead family being happy in the after life, and make him feel more at peace that his family is okay and be less obsessed with revenge. Akira was sure to hide his identity and took on the persona of a messenger from the hokage saying it was an order from higher ups to save help Tekato be more focused on being a ninja and less on revenge. It seemed to work as far as he could tell and since he had learned most of what he could from the old man he would head on his way. He had a few things in mind that he knew he would have to gain. First, was power, if he was going to avenge his family he would need the power to accomplish the act, if he wanted to lead a village and have influence on a mass amount of people, he needed power for respect. Second he needed to know people, he needed to make friends and create a team of people who might share or sympathize with his cause, or if not, sympathize with the pay he could potentially supply. And lastly he knew that not a lot could be accomplished without money, he was going to need lots and lots of money. Eventually he agreed to himself that it was best he joined another hidden village, it was the best way to go for now.
