OOC: First training, apologies in advance to the unfortunate person who has to point out my flaws.

At the north of the village there is lake, cross the lake and you’d find a forest perfect for training. In the village it’s quite hard to find a good place to train by yourself without interruptions. Go south, out of the village via the village gate and you’ll find a swamp. Swampy ground wouldn’t be beneficial to the multiple jutsu I’m aiming to learn.
After a short trek through the forest I find a large clearing which looks perfect. Almost entirely circular, it was clear of trees but had a few relatively large rocks to use as potential targets. The ground was solid so it would be helpful for most of the jutsu I was aiming to learn.
I brought a scroll titled ‘Simple Releases: Earth Edition’, so I could improve on my earth release. I open the scroll and see a ninjutsu titled Deido Nohara no Jutsu (Mud Field) near the top. Perhaps the one jutsu that’d been easier to complete on swampy land I decide to do it here anyway. Chances are I’ll be on ground like this in a battle and if I wasn’t it’d just be easier for me at the time, having mastered it on solid earth.
The handseals were rat, dog and boar before slamming my hands into the ground. It seemed simple enough but I’d have to focus heaps of chakra into my hands before channeling it through the ground.
I started by completing the handseals without putting any chakra into it so I could fluidly complete them without trouble. I then incorporated last part of the jutsu, smashing my hand into the ground. After a couple of times I must have accidently put some chakra into it as I started sinking into the ground, the area under my feet turned into mud!
Uneager to see how far down my accidental mud hole went I waded out before reflecting on it. To make the ground under my feet turn to mud I successfully did the handseals and smashed my palm on the ground; what I didn’t do was send the chakra away from me, I have to channel the chakra through the ground to where I want it to go, not simply release it into the ground.
I now start to practice with chakra, hoping my newfound realization will help in my mastering of the justu. I see a rock some 3 metres away and decide that it’s a good target to start with. I switch my gaze to the ground, willing it to help me somehow. I nimbly complete handseals and thump my open hand into the ground, willing my chakra to travel through the solid surface, all the way to the rock a short range away.
I feel my chakra surge out of my hand and I know that in a split second I’ll see if my jutsu has been successful.
