It was a while since he saw the Krav Maga dojo of Kiri open. But, he couldn't give up the opportunity and had to use it! He loved training so much the last time he was there, and felt like it would be a while before the dojo master would return once more.
Wearing his usual gear, his hair with white stripes and his cloacked body making it's way on the stairs into the dojo. He didn't know many people in the village who did this sort of combat, which gave him an adventage when learning. It was usually so much better to learn one on one with the master.
Sliding the door aside and stepping in. Taking a step inside and giving the place a bow. Looking around to see the master sitting in the middle of the room, smiling at his oncoming student. Kem bowed his head to him as he took off his cloack, tossing it aside and his sword as well. Leaving himself with his jeans, his torso exposed and the scar visible on him. He quickly made his way out of his boots - ready to learn something new.
Standing in front of the master, his feet his width apart, his arms brought to his face and his eyes locked onto the man in front of him. "Ready when you are!" He said, ready to earn his yellow belt, standing in the most basic position, and slowly moving his feet a little wider, his elbows together and hands in front of his face, clenched into firsts.
The master stood up and approached him. "To move, in a fight, one must always return to the basic fighting position" He said and stood into the fighting position in front of the boy, punching the air and moving forward, his right foot kicking off the ground and gracefully moving forward, taking a step closer to him and keeping himself steady. "This, is your goal." He said.
Kem nodded and stared at the master, his left leg slightly forward, bringing himself to the soles of his feet, leaning forward and taking a step. However, the balance was off. The man in front of him gracefully moved aside and tripped him to the ground. "Wrong. Balace yourself at all times." He said.
Kem fell on his back, nodding and quickly standing back up and into the fighting position. His left leg behind his right. Taking a step forward, trying to keep his balance even and returning to the fighting position. "Better." He heard from behind him as the master spoke. "But moving forward is rarely effective." He said and stood in front of Kem. "A good way to decieve your opponent is by moving sideways."
The master took a step back and smiled at the boy. He gracefully moved himself to the right, keeping his balance, and then to the left, returning to the same basic fighting position, allowing himself to gracefully keep himself balanced. "Remember - balance is everything." He said and gestured him to do it as well.
Kem nodded as he brought himself to the basic fighting position. His right foot kicking up and moving himself to the right. his blance still off, but a little better when he returned to the fighting position. Then, moving to the left, doing the same. His balance improving with each time he moved. He looked at the master who nodded and started giving him rythem to move to.
It was easy to count. One...Move forward. Two...Move to the left. Three...To the right. And finally four...Backwards.
It kept on and on. His balance improving with each step he took. Still in the basics, but doing a good job. He was finally getting it. Sweatin some but still allowing himself to understand the basics of the movement. He was doing it again and again, keeping with the rythem the master gave him and brought himself to learn the stance.
Moving in Fighting Stance
Rank: "E"
Skill: TaiJutsu
Effect: Basic principle of movement while in a fighting stance is to start with the forward foot while pushing off with the rear foot, then close the step so you end up in the original stance.
Special: ---
Drawback: ---
Description: Staring Position Left-leg-forward fighting stance. To Advance: Move your left foot forward while pushing off with your right, then bring your right foot forward to return to keep a stable fighting stance. Keep your weight evenly over both feet (more on the balls of your feet than on your toes); don't lean forward as you advance. To go to the right: Move your right foot out pushing off with your left, then bring your left foot in so you return to a stable fighting stance. To go to the left: Move your left foot out, pushing off with your right, then bring your right foot in to return to a stable fighting stance. To retreat Move your right foot back, pushing off with your left, then bring your left foot back, returning to a stable fighting stance.
Limit: Must learn from a Master of Krav Maga.
