Tenzin Ishigawa sighed as he sat on top of a roof near the center of Kirigakure. Dressed in his Genin gear and his Kiri-headband tied around his fore head, the 13-year old ash blone haired boy adjusted his shoulder strap that held his sword and sheath in place on his back. He then cracked his neck as he looked at the scroll in his hands.
"Why do people keep so many pets in thier homes if they can't care for them properly?" he thought in annoyance as he read the scroll.
He had to find 3 rats, 3 cats, 3 dogs, and 3 birds within the day to complete his mission. Though it was a D-rank, it did pay 1,500 ryo and so he couldn't bulk at it. Pocketing the scroll in his cloak, Tenzin looked around for a moment on the roof top when he heard a loud blood curdling scream that made him turn quickly. Leaping from roof top to roof top like an acrobat; he leaped and jumped, and bounded until he came to the source of the scream. An older woman in civilian gear standing in the streets pointing in horror at a small shop.
"What happened here?" Tenzin asked as he landed next to the woman.
"Rats! There are rats in my shop!" she said.
Tenzin nodded in understanding and the luck of his good fortune as he asked, "What do you sell here?"
"Food; a few fruits and vegetables. But mostly cheeses I import from the Land of Fire and the Land of Lightning" the woman explained pointing to the inside of her shop.
A large sweat drop formed on Tenzin's head as heard this and sighed in annoyance. Peeking into the shop, he could see three rats scatter throughout the shop at his presence. Not wanting to tear the shop apart looking for them, Tenzin saw a roll of Gouda cheese that they had been eating as well as some empty crates on the floor. Quickly thinking of a plan he suddenly looked back towards the woman and held up the cheese the rats had been eating.
"Mind if I borrow this?" he asked. The woman nodded, seeing as she could no longer sell the cheese.
Tenzin nodded and then tossed the cheese into the air and unseathing his sword swung iin three perfect fluid slashes that looked like flashes of light to the civialins gathering to watch. Suddenly three equal size pieces of cheese landed in Tenzin's hands. He then placed the cheese on the floor, above which he rigged a a crate tied to some string. Adjusting the string and waiting a moment he saw the rats scurry out and startting eating the cheese.
"Got ya!" he said as he dropped the crate on top if the rats, trapping them inside. The rats screeched a bit, but where unhurt. Walking over, he flipped the box over and covered it with a piece of ply wood, sealing the rats inside. Smriking a bit Tenzin left the shop, with the shop owners thanks and hurried back to the Mizukage's tower. There he walked in and set the crate down on a receptionists desk, casuing the receptionist to look confused and listen to the scurrying inside.
"Those are the rats I was asked to find. Thier collars and name tags were a dead give away. I will return with the other animals soon" he said before taking off.
As noon approached, he was again leaping through the roof tops of the village, coming soon to the park. As he leapt into the trees he looked around and sure enough eating bird seed being tossed by an elderly couple, where three parrots of different colors. Knowing that parrots where neither native to Mizugakure or even common wild park birds, Tenzin was able to put two and two together and realized these where the birds he was looking for. leaping out of the trees to grab the birds, he instead found himself eating dirt as the parrots flew off in various directions causing him to look up annoyed.
"Blast it" he cursed as he looked up at the flying birds.
"Are you okay young man?" one of the edlerly couple asked.
"Yeah I'm fine, just a bruised ego. Those birds you where feeding are pets I'm trying to catch" he explained.
"Well they should be back soon, since they like our bird seed. Perhaps you should wash off your face in the pond over there" the elderly woman said as she threw the seed around the ground again. Tenzin nodded and went over to wash his face. As he did, he suddenly had an idea that casued him to smile a bit.
Shortly after the sun reached it's noon peak, the parrots had returned to scarf down the seed being thrown about by the elderly couple. Watching patiently from a tree, Tenzin smiled his shark shaped teeth and then went through some quick hand signs.
"Water style: Water Clone jutsu!" he said as the water near the pound shot out and formed a clone of Tenzin that ran at the birds.
However as it closed in and leapt into the air, the clone was instantly dispelled forming water that fell onto the birds which started to take off again. Now with thier feathers soaked and unable to fly. The birds hubbled about sqauking much to the amusement of the park attendees as Tenzin ran over with a bag and scopped up the birds one by one, tossing them into the bag. The birds sqaucked and thrashed in tha bag as Tenzin carried it back to the Mizukage tower, again leavng the bag to the tower staff who would see the animals safe return.
Mid day had set in as Tenzin sa on a roof top resting for a moment, eating a power bar and sipping from a bottle of water. He had just finished his snack when he heard a loud meowing noise. Looking down, he saw three cats scurring about some open garbadge pails. Seeing that the cats weren't starys, thanks in part to thier groomed fur and of course tags and collars, Tenzin jumped from the roof top and landed on the ground near the cats causing them to look up from the trash.
"Here kitty kitty kitty. Come to uncle Tenzin, that it's now. Come on you mangy, flea ridden carpets. Let's go" he said holding bits of his power bar out like a treat. However, the cats either didn't like the bar, or they understood what Tenzin said as they hissed and them leapt on Tenzin, clawing and biting him.
"Ow! Hey knock it off! Oh that hurts! Stop it stop it stop it!" he shouted as the cats leapt off him and ran down an ally way. The now clawed, bitten, and scrtached faced Tenzin jumped up furiously and grabbed the hilt of his sword.
"I'm gonna nueter each and everyone of those mice sucking demons!" he shouted in anger. However he released his sword handle as he recalled his mission orders and calmed himself down. Thinking for a minute he looked over and saw a young boy, whistling happily as he walked down the street with a fishing rod in hand, carrying a lot of fish he had caught during the day.
"Hey kid, come here for mintue. How much for one of those fish?" he asked as he called the kid over.
Soon, Tenzin waited on a roof top. Using the fish he had bought form the kid, which he grumbled about being ridiculously over charged, and his trap ready; he waited paitently on the roof top as he lay hidden. Suddenly all three cats emrged from the ally way, recognizing them, he smirked as they went over and together nibbled on the fish. Tenzin then sprang into action and cut a nearby rope that was attached to a trap net he had set up.
The net came down and trapped the cats, which meowed in surprise. Jumping down, Tenzin smiled evilly at the cats as he walked over and tied off the rope lifting them up into the air as they again hissed at him.
"Not so tough now are you? Be thankful your owner wants you back safely, or I would be making violin strings from your guts right about now" he said in anger as he brought the cats back to the tower.
Soon as 4pm began to apporach, Tenzin was walking down the streets of Krigakure, holding up pictures of three dogs that he was looking for. A Golden Retriver, a black labrador, and a brown and white beagle. So far he had no luck, but all that changed when he heard the sound of the village's butcher yelling in anger. Running around the corner Tenzin saw the three dogs he was looking for run out of the meat shop, the butcher chasing them with a meat cleaver in hand yelling angrily. Thinking quickly Tenzin leaped forward as the butcher swung his cleaver at the dogs and blocked the strike with a kunai.
"Whoa old timer, now you got every right to make hash out of these dogs, but I got my orders to bring them in unharmed" he explained. The butcher nodded in apology and went back into his shop as the dogs ran off in three different directions. Tenzin again used his water clone technique to summon two water clones form a nearby fountain. Motioning with his hands and giving them orders, Tenzin and his clones ran off after the dogs.
One clone ran after the beagle and using the roof tops to catch up to the small dog, he leapt down and caught the dog in his hands. He then soothed the dog with some friendly petting which caused it to calm down and soon the clone was carrying the dog towards the tower. The clone that went after the black lab used a similar strategy and using the roof tops jumped down on the running dog and tied a rope it had grabbed around the dogs neck like a leash. He too began to lead the big dog back to the tower like an owner walking a pet.
As for the real Tenzin, he went after the retriever and soon had it cornered in an ally way. Nodding to the dog he jumped on it and begin to wrestle with the dog as it jumped and kicked to try and get away from Tenzin. However Tenzin was able to pin the dog down and sub due it by rubbing it's stomach. Soon the dog sat up and licked Tenzin's clawed, and dirty face causing the young Genin to cringe for a moment as he did so. he then grabbed the dog by it's collar and walk it back towards the tower.
Dusk had set in by the time Tenzin and his clones waked into the Mizukage tower with the dogs in tow. He then set the dogs down near the receptionist's desk, as the receptionist looked at the desheveled young man. With a wave of his hand, the clones disapperead into puddles of water as Tenzin looked up with his clawed, dirt covered, and dog slobber covered face.
"Mission accomplished" he said before taking a seat on the floor to catch his breath.
Mission Complete
