Swirling through time and space was one thing... But ending up somewhere you shouldn't be is another. Above a very popular hot spring known by many a mysterious portal magically appeared from nowhere about 10 meters above this hot spring, and soon after Kai warped through it. Caught flying through the air Kai looked around where he was for a quick second before crashing straight into the hot spring below him. "Oh my god this is hot!" Kai yelled out as his head burst out the water. Rubbing his eyes Kai slowly started make out human figures, after rubbing his eyes once again he noticed something about this figures... Jumping back and blushing Kai yelled out loud "HOLY SHIT!", Kai had noticed that all the the figures were girls all dressed in only towels.

Screams echoed throughout the entire hot spring as all the girls had noticed Kai's presence. All of the women charged at him all with furious faces on. Embarrised and ashamed Kai quickly turned to the wall of the hot spring, gathing chakra to his feet Kai ran up the wall and over the fence whilst yelling "IT WASN'T ME IT WAS THE PORTALS!".

Soaked and rather embarrassed Kai fled from the hot springs, his clothes were so soaked now it almost felt as if he had water in his socks. Not only this but going from a sandy desert to a hot spring doesn't make the sand that he picked up feel any better in his shoes. Now that Kai was a good 30 meters away from the hot spring, he found himself in a random part of some town. 'For the love of god where did I end up?' Kai thought to himself whilst looking at how much different the buildings looked to the ones in the sand village. Looking around frantically for somebody to explain to him where he was he noticed a Inn on the other side of the street. Taking every opportunity he could right now he quickly dashed over to the inn, the air drying his clothes slightly making them feel stiff and uncomfortable.

Upon bursting into a sudden dash everybody around him seemed confused, Kai thought of possible reasons why this could be but all he could think about is that they were worried something may have happened. Thinking about it harder Kai realized that they were probably not used to seeing shinobi such as himself dashing through the streets of their village, or maybe it was because he was from the hidden sand. As these thoughts passed through his head he failed to notice the beautiful architecture around him, it was all traditional japanese wooden houses just like it was back in his home town in the land of rain.

Stopping suddenly right in front of the Inn he kicked up a small amount of dust into the air. Flowing through the air it passed by Kai's face and into the sky, causing him to cough in the process. Politely opening the door he walked into the inn, shortly after he was greeted by the owner of the place. "Welcome! Are you here to stay the night?", business appeared to be slow in this inn as there was not many people there. Kai approached the front desk, looking around at how empty it was. 'Staying here for the night doesn't seem so bad...' he thought to himself, after all Kai just loved peace and quiet. 'But first thing is first.' Kai thought, remembering why he entered the inn in the first place. Kai said quietly "Hey. W-what country is t-this?" he said nervously, speaking to others was not his forte.

The man at the desk let out a rather loud laugh at Kai's question. Upon hearing this laugh Kai quickly looked down at the desk in embarrassment. After the man at the counter had finished laughing he said to Kai "This here is Hakone, your in the land of hot springs!". Shocked at hearing this Kai jumped, 'Land of... hot springs? But that's so far away from...'. Kai looked back up to the man, "Thanks, I'll stay the n-night if that is o-ok with you..." He said nervously. Kai got out his wallet and handed the man money for the room, he was then took the keys for the room from the man. "T-thanks.", Kai then nervously walked away from the counter and up the stairs, instantly proceeding to his room. He dragged a chair to the window of the room and sat on it, looking out onto the horizon. "How the hell did i get here?."..

Kai sat down, looking down upon the busy streets of Hakone. After he had washed his clothes, dried them and taken a bath he realized this town was such a beautiful place, it reminded him so much of his own home town back in the land of rain. The buildings made of wood rather than tough sand and bricks, these things he missed the most about his home town. Yes he missed quite a lot, but he certainly didn't miss living on the streets for so long. Back then he survived, it was nothing but survival. The people of his town were so greedy and selfish that even when he was starving on the streets nobody would even have helped him. In fact, some may have even just looked at him in disgust.

But this town somehow felt so much more different to him, the people of it seemed so much more happy. Closing his eyes, Kai remembered suddenly the hardships he had to go through as a kid. And then that was when he remembered that man, the man who picked him up after he had fallen so far down. 'I was dying in the desert, but that man saved me for no reason... why?'. Kai was completely lost in thought, until a flash of sunlight shined through the window directly onto his face. Opening his eyes slowly he realized that things were different now, and he had a place he had to be. 'Speaking of which...' This was when Kai realized he had to get back to the sand village as soon as possible.

Even through this was true the sun still shined so brightly outside, it was such a beautiful day. 'Why don't I enjoy it for a bit before i leave...' Kai smiled thinking about this. It had been awhile since he just enjoyed himself. "Now, what to do first..." Kai said this out loud almost absentmindedly. Standing up confidently, Kai decided what he was going to do first. Looking out the window he had spotted a restaurant, that was apparently well known for their dango. Almost drooling in the thought of eating, and drinking! Kai quickly turned around, rushing out of his room and down the hallway. He was about to jump down the stairs but he came to a sudden stop when he realized that he was in public. Old habits die hard...

Walking calmly down the stairs Kai looked around the Inn, there was only about five people there including himself and the bartender. Some shady guy was chilling with his feet up on the table in the corner, to Kai he didn't seem like the kind of person he should talk to so he just ignored him. Slowly proceeding to the inn's exit Kai felt a sudden shiver go down his spine as he walked past that very same man, 'Who is he?...' Kai thought to himself trying not to shift his eyes in the mans direction. Pressing his hand against the doors handle Kai opened the door wide open, which shortly followed by him walking out the door then closing it.

The streets of Hakone were filled with life. Stands everywhere were selling their goods to the people who passed by, almost all of which seemed to wear smiles upon their faces. Walking down the street seemed strange to Kai, after all he grew up in a dessert so just looking around and seeing everyday plant life seemed weird to him. Kai could see all the beautiful blossomed trees off in the distances, everything seemed so peaceful here to him. Arriving at the restaurant Kai opened the door to the place, people quickly looking in his direction for a breif moment then turning back to whatever they were doing before.

The food smelled absolutely delicious, but the thing Kai loved the most was dango. He craved dango, it was his most favorite treat. Walking over to the bar of the restaurant the young shinobi looked around at the other people in the place. They all seemed like ordinary people just having a good time with their friends, this made Kai smile in remembrance of his team that he had to get back to. Sitting down Kai would begin to speculate on why he was taken so far away from his village by the portals. But no matter how much he did so he couldn't find a good reason the portal would send him to Hakone. Kai was interrupted in his thoughts when a bartender walked up to him on the other side of the bar. "Aren't you a little too young to be drinking kid?", upon hearing this Kai let out a small chuckle. "I'm... not here for achohol... can I-I have a glass of water and some dango please?", when the bartender heard this he grunted a little then walked back through the kitchen door of the restaurant. Kai started to tap his fingers against the bar desk, awaiting both his food and his drink.

Tapping his fingers on the counter of the bar, Kai looked around at the other people in the restraunt. All of them seemed some what upset about something, some of them would quickly glance in Kai's direction then look back to the other people on their table. Could they be upset that Kai was a sand shinobi, or maybe that he was a kid? Questions raced through Kai's head as he tried to imagine why they kept looking back and forth at him like that. Kai thought that maybe it was because he was a shinobi, and not just because he was one of the sands ninja. Kai stopped tapping, hoping that they were only giving him the evils for that reason. But even when he stopped tapping at the bar the people in the place were still looking at him. Kai feeling rather awkward and annoyed, tried to just ignore it for the time being.

Eventually after waiting for fifteen more minutes of awkward silence the man who went into the kitchen before after taking Kai's order came out. Suddenly everybody in the entire restraunt turned back to their food and friends, acting as if nothing ever happened. 'What's going on here...' Kai thought to himself. Before he could begin speculation the man who went into the kitchen to get his food had returned with a plate of 3 scewered sticks of Mitarashi Dango, and a glass of water. He placed both on the table, and before Kai could thank the man he had already asked what the man beside him would like. Looking next to him he saw the exact same man he had seen in the Inn, the shady guy in the corner.

Looking for a closer examination and ignoring the fact the man behind the bar had already taken his order, the man was wearing a straw hat that covered the top half of his face. By looking at how the mans skin looked and how tall he was Kai could tell he wasn't old nor young, he looked like he was maybe in his 20s or 30s. Turning back to his dango Kai picked up the first stick on his plate, then turned back to the man again. Whilst eating his dango, the young shinobi looked at what the man was wearing. He was wearing padded armor like clothing, sandals on his feet all in black. Maybe he was a ninja like Kai? After finishing the dango that was on the stick he was eating from, Kai moved onto the next one then turned yet again back to the man, still interested in who he was. Kai, being thirsty above all after traveling for so long in the desert picked up his drink. Drinking all of it with big gulps then placing it back on the table with a sigh of releif. It was then that the man suddenly spoke, in a medium pitched pissed off tone he said "What are you looking at, kid.".

Upon hearing the man speak to him so assertively, Kai quickly turned back to his dango. 'W-what did i do wr-ong I only looked at the guy...' the young shinobi thought to himself while doing so. Quickly, Kai took the last of the dango he had to eat then ate them with haste. It was then that the mysterious man spoke again "Your gonna' get indigestion doing that you know...". When Kai heard the man say this he put down his dango stick, then turned back to the man. Agressively the young shinobi said out loud "You didn't have to be so rude you know!", after hearing himself say this Kai quickly turned back to his plate which now only had sticks rested upon it. The whole restraunt went quiet, Kai and the man appeared to be the center of attention. 'Where the hell did that come from!?...'.

The awkwardness of the situation had officially gotten to Kai. To him it seemed that perhaps now wasn't the right time to be traveling around by himself, especially since it seemed to attract too much attention to himself. Knowing this he quickly stood up, leaving money on the counter whilst doing so. He then walked over to the restraunts exit, opening the door walking through it then closing it behind him. Now it was time for him to head back home, he was getting kind of homesick on the inside anyway. So, with this the young shinobi asked around a few people for directions then he was off. Back to the land of wind, and back to the sand village.
