Yuki lay down on a rotten wooden floor, covered in nails. She felt sick, tired and weary as she hadn't eaten in days, yet no one cam to feed her. The room she lay in was small, with no furniture and only a tiny window gave a glimpse of light. The yellow wallpaper was patterned with delicate roses, going down in strips but most of the wallpaper had rotted and fallen away, or ripped by what looked like some sort of animal. Yuki was too tired to care about her surroundings though since the only thing that was on her mind was food and water, but not health; health didn't matter to a person too close to death. Besides, when you lived on the streets, health wasn't an option. Yuki wasn't exactly in the streets though; she was in an abandoned motel with a few other kids who wandered upon it but other than that, she was pretty much homeless. While she was thinking about this, someone knocked on the rickety door, startling Yuki by the vibration it sent through her sharp ears.
"Hello, can I come in please?" The voice asked, and one Yuki would recognise anywhere. It was Lily; a 9 year old girl with no eye sight who lived on the bottom floor, usually sleeping in the lobby because it was the nicest and warmest place there. Lily pried the door open and leaned over to peek through the small gap between the door's opening and the wall. Even though she couldn't see, she guessed that as always Yuki was lying on the ground in the middle of the room, but she didn't rush over to her like a normal friend would since Yuki was known for doing nothing - it was all she did. Yuki opened one eye to take a look at Lily's face that was wearing a giant smile, litterally stretching from ear to ear. Lily kneeled down and crawled over to Yuki, feeling her way through the nails. She started chatting about random, off the wall thoughts, all of which Yuki blocked out of her mind. Until Lily started chatting about a fair that was apparently rolling into their neighbouhood.
"Oh yeah, and there's this huge slide too! I think, but it would be really cool to visit sometime, maybe today?" Yuki was never one for trips, especially in her state of form.
