Shouta stands at five feet seven inches tall with an estimated weight of one hundred forty four pounds. He and his frame are rather small, forcing him not to rely on his physical prowess as a ninja but on his unique doujutsu and his ability to use chakra-based attacks. Without much muscle, Shouta is skinny and small-framed. He is young looking for his age; most mistake him for a fourteen or fifteen year old. He has thin, red eyebrows that are high above his head with large, red eyes. They are trapezoidal shaped with small, black pupils. He has short eyelashes that are such a dark red that they are perceived to be black. He has small ears that are hidden by his red hair along with a small plain nose that is nearly sharp at the tip. His mouth is also short, his lips almost non-existent.
He has red hair that he wears at about medium length. He does little to prepare it other than having daily bathing routines. It comes straight down and curls up at the very ends only slightly. Other than that, his hair is rather thick and straight. His bangs come down unevenly on his forehead, coming down to red, spiky tips. The length of his hair reaches the back of his neck. Although he has been prompted by this mother, he refuses to cut it shorter, wear it longer, put it in a ponytail, or do anything else of that type. He considered braiding it at one point, but that was when he was younger and he has grown out of such things.
He has a narrow face which comes down to a pointed chin. One is not able to see his cheekbones which gives him somewhat of a rounded face. He has a longer than average neck as well as not so broad shoulders. His arms are long and skinny and his fingertips elongated. He has rather small hands, but they are quick and nimble. He has an average sized abdomen with average size legs, but the lack of tone and the lack of fat give him the appearance of being younger than he is. His skin tone is very tan from his history of exploring the jungle at a young age. He is not wrinkled in any way but the shadow of smile-lines have begun to appear on his face. This is because he is usually content with his situation and thus, smiling.
Like most civilized people, Shouta wears a plethora of different clothing. To try and describe it here would be to try and describe an entire wardrobe of clothing. But one can identify patterns in what a person wears, and thus show what someone is apt to wear. For example, regardless of the Onigami Doujutsu, Shouta has poor vision. He wears prescription glasses that nearly render him blind if he does not use them. However, when his doujutsu is activated, he has no need for the glasses. He tends to wear black shoes with black socks and shirts with collars. He usually wears more than one layer of clothing in every season.
His clothing usually consists of fine silk garments. He affords these rather expensive pieces of clothing by stealthily taking them from an apparel shop or by "borrowing" the money from some unlucky loaner. The outside jackets, however, whatever color they may be, are usually made of cotton, especially during the winter. During the winter it would not be insane for him to be wearing heavy wool. For his pants, he usually wears light khaki, made from polyester, or denim jeans. However, on missions, he does wear tight, silk pants. They're comfortable and they don't get caught up on anything.

"Hakuna Matata"
"Hakuna Matata"
Shouta is best described as extremely individualistic. He cares about the advancement of himself and the freedom that he has. Anyone trying to interfere with said freedoms would be ignored. He has always had an adventurous personality, beginning when he was a child in Umi no Kuni, and felt more at home when he was not at home. He always escaped during the night when he was a child, wanting to spend time in the great rainforests. It was amazing to his single mother when he showed little fear or care for his health or for danger. Shouta has always had a non-serious, lackadaisical attitude. He does not necessarily like rules or laws, but he follows them only to keep himself out of a jail cell.
Shouta cannot be described as friendly. He can be cruel and unkind if it gets him what it wants, but if he is fond of that person, or he feels he can benefit from a friendship, then he can be a kind person. His lack of seriousness always leads him to be funny at inopportune moments, which sometimes doesn't lead to his favor. Overall, however, Shouta does like the interaction of people. He is sometimes socially awkward due to the fact that he did not grow up around other people, but he is not seen as anti-social or having a personality disorder. He is open towards friendships and relationships with women, although he has always regarded women as forked-tongued snakes. They're worth it in his book. He doesn't necessarily like those in power and those who try to regulate his actions. There is a lack of respect for his senseis, the Kage, and other important political figures.
Shouta is brave and adventurous. He normally won't turn down a challenge, unless he finds it overly boring, unnecessary, or harmful to himself. However, he is very likely to flee in the face of too much danger, even if it means sacrificing his allies to get away. He has traitorous and scandalous tendencies, and will sell out if the reward is big enough. Although Shouta may have these less than spectacular traits, Shouta does not consider himself to be a muderer. He will steal but not murder. He does believe, in the line of shinobi duty, that killing opponents is necessary. He views them as threats to his own health, because the last thing he wants to do is die, and will not hesitate in ending the life of an enemy shinobi. He will not take it upon himself, however, to chase after an enemy to kill him. If an enemy flees, he is, for the current time, no longer a threat and thus is not worth killing.
Deep down, though, Shouta is a good person. There are some moments in his life that he has been selfless to save a friend or to help someone out, but these are rare and fleeting moments. Shouta is not one who will sacrifice himself to save another, nor is he one to be charitable. While he doesn't believe in religion, there seems to be some sort of conscience deep down inside him. This tells him not to murder, not to destroy, and not to be morally evil. Although he can be seen as such by those that are Lawful Good or Lawful Neutral, he feels that what he does is the most right thing he can do in the situation.
He does not trust as much as someone else would because he would not trust himself. He believes that most people are out to better themselves, not necessarily others around them, and so he has always been wary of other people's motives and ideals. For someone to betray him would not surprise him, and so he must always stay on his toes and sometimes betray them before he is betrayed. He does not lie unless it directly benefits them, and his truth can be often blunt. Unless it renders him death or a likewise punishment, he will not be easy with the truth. His braveness, if he does talk himself into a fight, usually stops him from running away.
Child of the Jungle
The reddish eyes were a surprise to the mother. Her entire family, and the fathers to for all her knowledge, had dark colored eyes. There was no history of having red eyes and having those infantile, red orbs gaze into her own was quite shocking to say the least. After the birth of the child, the family relocated to the edge of the rainforest. Shouta's mother collected food from the forest, and it would not be safe to leave the child unattended for hours on end as she walked to and from the forest. Thus, the relocation seemed ideal. Shouta, as an infant, gazed into the forest with childish giggles and laughter. It filled him with wonder, danger, and excitement. At night he would hear calls from the forest that would wake him from his sleep. It was a glorious sound, though, much like one might wake from thunder only to be lulled back to sleep by it's echoes.
When Shouta was three, walking and climbing like a pro, he set off to explore the forest for the first time. His mother was not paying attention and so Shouta snuck off rather easily. He did not wander too deep, for he knew how dangerous it truly was, but stayed within the periphery. He would point at the unique wildlife and hold onto the bases of large trees. He would ignore his mother's nervous and broken calls of "Shouta!" as he journeyed on. He would finally return from his first expedition to a nerve-wracked mother to whom he told the glories of his adventures.
Soon the escapes became daily, and Shouta would travel deeper and deeper. It came to the point where he would spend nights in the forest, sleeping up on the branches of woven trees or up in the vines with other wild animals. He did not grow up with people, he grew up with nature. His mother tried to teach him respectable manners, but it seemed to her that he only grasped a little of it. He was a wild child, and the jungle was his family.Tasukeru
When Shouta was ten, he had an odd dream where he could see everything around him. He would be trapped in the deepest, darkest stretch of the jungle, but at the same time, he could see everything. He used to never dare to go into the places he couldn't see, but this dream dared him on. A daring ten year old, he ventured deep within the forests, thinking it a game to try to find his way out. He soon found himself lost, however, and panic struck him. Just as this panic hit, the dream became reality. The Tasukeru, the doujutsu of the Onigami, revealed itself. He could see everything near his vicinity. Whether it was hidden from his normal eyes or not, he could see it all. Jubilant of his new ability, he raced back to his forest-side hut to tell his mother of his new ability. All the while he kept the Tasukeru activated, seeing everything the forest had to offer.
As he returned home, however, he found himself exhausted. More exhausted than he regularly was. He skipped the storytelling and went straight to an early bed. His mother thought nothing of it. However, as weeks went by, Shouta would come home earlier and earlier, and would sleep for longer and longer. Fearing that he had caught some kind of sickness from the jungle, she decided to move the family so that Shouta could never go jungle roaming again. Under her careful eye, he would not be able to get sick.Otogakure
And so they arrived in Otogakure. Shouta was devastated. His home, his jungle.. he would never see it again. But Shouta's soul was adventurous, and he explored the town in its entirety. The idea of a shinobi was new to Shouta, but so were laws and customs. He quickly learned that doing whatever he wanted would put him in the arms of the angry police force. So he adapted: he learned how to do what he wanted in secrecy. However, he soon found boredom in the walls of a city, and had nothing more left to do. He quickly formulated a plan to run away, to escape, when he happened upon a graduate shinobi, his age. The shinobi told him of his adventures around the world as a Genin, and of the leniency the law gives to ninja. Not only that, but shinobi could receive lots of money doing missions.
Giving up his plan to run away, and with his mother's blessing, he enrolled in the Sound Ninja Academy. He was alien to the idea of chakra and ninja techniques, and so it was slow going for him. His doujutsu grabbed him lots of attention, however, drawing the instructors' eyes. But his disregard for the rules hurt him more than it caused him joy. Eventually he graduated from the academy, at the old age of sixteen. Two years have passed since then and Shouta has realized the power of the shinobi. These new powers that he possessed could earn him money, fame, and women. As he trained his techniques, he kept his dream in mind. One day he will escape this place and use his powers to get all the money, fame, and women he could ever want.
He worried about little else than that.Chapter 1: Sweet Power
From henceforth, I'll be using this to document my journeys and my rise to power should it find me. The first of my days were simply training. I was young and innocent, I knew not what power truly entailed. I trained my sand, mostly, and not much else. Little did I know that I became one of the most powerful sand users alive today. While that's great and all, sand alone will not bring me power. I have to branch out. I've begun to train Lightning techniques. Their power is devastating.
I've seen people come and go. I have yet to make an imprint on this world. I will. I just need more time damnit.
