Minago Monsters: Part 3 [Private]

It was both a good and bad thing that they now had a torch for light. The upside was that they could now see the tunnels before them. The downside was that they could now see the tunnels before them clearly enough to see that they were full of ravenous monsters. Like the vultures outside of the cave these things seemed to be single minded and ravage the clone without so much as thinking about the other two people involved. This made Saeko stop and think for a while on what it could mean.

Perhaps beings made of pure chakra were a magnet for these creatures. Or on that line of thought perhaps he could only see them due to their chakra within his maze. It was food for thought as the battle unfolded. It would seem however that Yuuka was going to be using techniques that made her hand to hand power useless so once more she hung back.

She couldn't help but notice however that Yuuka seemed to be struggling with something. Perhaps she was simply excited about the fight ahead? Shaking her head, Saeko was on guard for more than one reason now. A foreign ninja, a strange lizard woman, and an endless labyrinth full of nightmare creatures at every turn. How did she end up getting so luck with all of this? All she was trying to do was find her way back to the oasis before all of this.

"These things only seem to respond to your clones. Once we finish them perhaps you could make another one and draw them out once more. We could back track the direction they come from and hope it leads us that way." she suggested as she positioned herself behind Minego. If this lizard thing even moved a toe out of line she was going to experiance a five ton punch to the back of the head that would be unpleasant for all parties involved.

Yuuka's inner struggle would be completely missed by Minego as well as the things she had called Chimney Sneaks, none of them possessing the ability to read thoughts. However, all would notice the firebomb that would extend from Yuuka's hand and promptly incinerate the first Chimney Sneak, while at the same time destroying her own clone. The firebomb was capable of melting through 3 meters of rock and stone, a clone made of metal webbing just melted into slag on the ground, still flaming slightly. But that flame was chakra imbued, fueled by its own and the chakra of the clone, and the other Chimney continued to rush forward, screeching horribly as they began to try to eat the flaming mass. Fire would burn them, but they seemed to care not for the flames that licked at their faces, boiling their eyes out of their head even as they thrust forward. Many of the Chimney Sneaks would burn their heads so badly they would simply fall to the ground, completely dead, their last movements only of trying to devour the chakra of the clone.

Minego, in the meantime, was practically writhing with excitement, and from Sir Cuddles nose's perspective, a great amount of lust, "Mmmm. You're getting me hot under the collar there Yuuka-chan~. I love it when you're so vicious! I can't wait to get out of here so we can get really hot and bothered together~." Yuuka's act of violence apparently had turned Minego into a fangirl.

A single Chimney Sneak remained functional after the burning, looking towards the wielder of the fiery chakra, Yuuka. Yet just as it was about to charge forward Minego leapt forward and delivered a swift kick, slamming the creature into the wall, it's exoskeleton, already damaged and cracked, bursting open, a sickening death scent wafting from its twitching corpse. Minego wrinkled her nose as she gave a quick sniff, "Ugh. They smell horrible. Hungry as I am I can't stomach that! Let's leave right now dears..."

It appears that clones are pointless then, Yuuka thought to herself as she immediately began running forward. Minego had proven, at least for the time being, that she was going to be helpful. They would stay in position, except now Yuuka would be in front instead of her clone. Meanwhile, Sir Cuddles would concentrate on the hallway in front of them, leaving only Saeko to watch Minego. At the same time, Yuuka would begin chewing a special kind of webbing once again.

If clones are pointless, then all we have is brute strength right?

It was Chi again. The longer it took to get through this area, the more she wanted to get out and play. Normally a statement like the one Minego had made previously would even make Yuuka a little hot, firing up Cryska (another personality). However, Chi's lust for fighting was so intense that not even Cryska wanted to try to intervene right now. Yuuka Kaguya was all that was standing in the way.

As they ran, Yuuka would shout, "Which way, Minego? And what do we do? I need answers!" Time was running out.

If the caves air wasn't already bad enough, Yuuka decided that burning these undead monsters was a good idea. The smell her firebomb created almost caused Saeko to double over and vomit. Being a medical shinobi she had encountered all sorts of terrible things but this made her stomach churn violently as she breathed it all in. Yet through it all Minego seemed to be enthusiastic about it all, apparently enthralled by the violence. Saeko found it detestable, though there was no way out of this one without some sort of fight.

'Damn it. Trapped in narrow tunnels with giant undead monsters.'

It was not an ideal situation but it seemed that for now Yuuka and Minego had a handle on it. She felt useless even though she too could fight fairly well, she was a close range fighter and would interfere with most of Yuuka's fire power. Gritting her teeth, she resigned herslef to her medical duties, though it seemed they would pull through this one unscathed.

Turning to raise a brow at Minego, Saeko mirrored Yuuka's frustration with the lizard woman. "Let's get out of here? I don't suppose you know how to do that?" she asked, seeming annoyed. Way to tell them something they already knew they needed to do, now was the time for her to remember something useful that would get the three of them out. For the first time in quite some time Saeko found herself not trusting someone and giving them the benefit of the doubt.

"Honestly dears I wonder if human ears work properly. I'm in the same situation as either of you. I don't know a thing besides what I've told you. Besides, what directions do we have available to us besides the door ahead? I think this dusty air is clogging up your senses dears, best to go quickly." Minego said in her sweetly voice even as she insulted the two women for an apparent lack of intelligence. Taking the lead Minego would step past the corpses of the foul-smelling Chimney Sneaks and run into the darkness beyond the door, not even bothering with light. "Come on dears, we should hurry!" And with that she would turn one of the corners in the tunnel and be gone from sight unless the women were right on her heels. Ironically she could be heard making grunting noises when she would bump against the wall as she ran in the dark, although she didn't seem to mind as long as she got the hell away from the stench of the dead chimney sneaks.

There really wasn't anything to do for the others except follow Minego, whether they trusted her or not. Sure they could remain in the room or examine the dead chimney sneaks, but it would provide little information for either of the women. Even Saeko's medical expertise could only tell them what was easily apparent. The creatures were capable of ignoring serious damage, felt no pain, and were very dis... no wait, not disease but poison. The creatures were not subject to some kind of zombifying disease, but some kind of poison instead...

Assuming that the women would eventually follow Minego in her mad dash through the winding tunnel they would find her and themselves back in the main room, Minego walking the perimeter sniffing the various entrances curiously as she waited for the humans to show up. She would turn, averting her eyes from the torchlight in Yuuka's hand for a moment as he eyes readjusted, "Bad news dear. I can't get the scent of fresh air from any of these paths. None of them lead 'up'. Strangely enough each one has a rather peculiar scent different from the rest. There's one that smells of fresh blood, let's stay away from that one shall we?"

There were nine or so choices ignoring the path they had already taken and the path smelling of blood, and Minego would be able to give a general scent each held. She would even go so far as to scratch a symbol into the doorways, so the scent-blind humans could remember which was which...

Soot.
Old Paper.
Damp stones and moss.
Lots of Sand.
Wood and Silk.
Decaying Flesh.
Iron.
Ozone ("That smell you get just after lightning strikes!")
Bone.


Which path would they choose now?

Damn it, more doors, Yuuka thought to herself. She had followed Minego, giving up her position in front. This was not the ideal situation, but could it really be helped? She was clearly an impulsive mutt and if she wanted to put herself right into harms way then so be it. Sir Cuddles was watching her the whole time. Eventually they came to a set of doorways and now they had to make even more decisions.

"We're going with lots of sand," Yuuka said quickly, "Since none of the paths lead upwards, we might as well run in the direction closest to our natural surroundings. But before we do, I want to try something." Quickly, Yuuka would create a few clones made of webbing. In a second she would shout, "They are going to go down the bone, decaying flesh, and iron chambers. If they get to the end then great, they can analyze the situation. If they get attacked then at least we can distract our opponent with multiple creatures. I'm guessing we have a few seconds before he destroys my clones, lets make it count!"

Immediately, the clones would run down the other paths and Yuuka would wait for Minego to start running down their designated path. Ironically, Yuuka still wouldn't ask Saeko what she thought they should do. She definitely wasn't used to taking orders and that wasn't going to change here.

As Minego ran off Saeko did her best to follow along behind the 'woman' as she led them through the tunnels. Despite claims of not knowing where they were headed she wanted to believe otherwise even still. It was hard to imagine that she had not figured out something in all the time it seemed that she had been down here. Pondering this more she decided that for now she would give the woman the benefit of the doubt until she saw fit to do otherwise.

"Sand it is then." she replied almost robotically. In this situation she had no idea what to make of it. Without her compass to guide her she felt lost, more so than ever. "Not a bad plan. Let's just hope that sand also means exit." she said with a half smirk. She was not amused yet she could not help but smile at the way Yuuka took charge of the group. Wasn't she supposed to be doing that? Sure, yet in this alien situation she had no idea what to make of any of this.

"Maybe when we get to the end of this tunnel we can have a little welcoming party of our own if it's the right one." she said with a laugh. She was, for once, eager to put her fist in somethings face. All she wanted was out of this grizzly nightmare as she could not stand the stench of this place for much longer. Running down the sand path ahead of the other two, she decided that she was going to lead on this time. Not content to just sit in the background and wait for things to happen.

"This is taking long enough. Let's move ladies!"

[OOC: Oh crap I am so sorry! I forgot about this thing even existing O.O I'll give you short, sweet, and rushing you right along post.]

The plan was a good one, and it seemed to go off without a hitch at all. Yuuka's clones vanished down their hallways, bumping into the walls as they had to navigate without any light once out of sight of Yuuka and Saeko. With them on their way the quartet would head into their own passage, their single torch illuminating their path. Sand. Minego simply nodded as they decided to choose the tunnel smelling of Sand. It made sense enough, although Minego had a sense of foreboding stirring in her gut. She followed along quietly, her every step still sensual and alluring despite her unease.

It would not take them long for them to completely lose themselves in the long dark tunnel that simply smelled of sand. Eventually they would come to a strange barrier blocking their path. It was like iron bars of a cage, or maybe a jail cell, but each “bar” ungulated in a sickening fashion, seeming almost like an organism rather than steel.

Minego recoiled from the barrier when they saw what it was, hissing in a reptilian exclamation of surprise. “Don't touch that! It's Hrodgar, or whatever it is he uses to keep us down here... the last time I tried to break one it hit me so hard I lost consciousness....”

A voice would suddenly be heard coming from the steel bars, the shape of a generic human face forming itself out of the steel, “You'll go no further this way, ladies. I have much to show you... much to do to you...”

The women could attempt to break their way through the barrier, or they could try and head back to choose a different path...

Finally. The women had all met Hrodgar, or whatever he was using to speak. It had taken them an enormous amount of time, energy, and mental preparation, but finally it was here.

This is Hrodgar? Yuuka questioned, hearing Minego's first statement. The clones were still making their way down the passages unattended. Eventually they would have to come to the end and find something. Minego made the claim that if they were to break the bars in their way, that the bars would hit them. It sounded as if this was based on a close-ranged attack however.

Hrodgar said that he was keeping them down here, but Yuuka wasn't too fond of that idea. "Come with me," she said, and immediately Yuuka would move away from the bars by about 25 meters. "I doubt the bars will be able to reach us from here," Yuuka said, waiting for Minego to say anything if she had any useful information. If Minego were to agree with the decision, then Yuuka would form the appropriate handsigns for the Fire Hydra Technique.

One dragon of pure fire would slam into the iron bars. The second would hit immediately thereafter, hopefully stopping the bars if they made an attack at the group. The third dragon would hit immediately after, being either a) an additional defense against the bars or b) an attack on whatever was on the other side.

Katon Hidora no Jutsu (Fire - Hydra Technique)

Effect: A technique in which the user takes the concept of Ryuuka but is capable of using it more of a destructive manner and more of a diverse manner. Instead of one large dragon like form being shot forth towards the opponent, the user is capable of increasing the amount of them into an amount of three draconic creations with similar devastation.
Special: "Handseals"
Drawback: They are only capable of going in a straight line. Projectory may not change directions.
Description: A Large creation is created as the user performs the necessary handseals for the technique. As the user does, so they raise their hand up over their mouth. By taking in a deep, breathe the user fills their lungs with chakra to in, which ignites the moment they blow the air out. As the user blows out the creation of fire is made taking the form of a giant dragon like creature. The Dragon is quickly hurled towards the opponent as the dragon swivels and swerves moving like that of a Chinese Dragon. Then without notice or movement the large dragon splits into three smaller sized forms of dragons as they twist and turn around one another heading towards the intended target. This technique is used to where the user is capable of controlling each dragon to hit at different times. This means that each draconic form of fire may be one after the other before hitting the initial target. The user is capable of pushing so much power into the technique to where when it touches the target it is needed it is ignited in a mass blaze of glory, creating a grand explosion for each form.
Limit: Must have the Fire Release, must know Katon - Ryuuka no Jutsu (Dragon Fire Technique)

Down the winding path of sand the three of them went, unsure what they would find at the end. At least the familiar scent offered some sort of comfort to two of them as they ran onward. Still Saeko could not help but feel uneasy about this decision. If he was truly manipulating this situation with some kind of technique then it was more than likely that he chose this. A familiar smell would lead them in thinking they were heading towards saftey. Hrodgar would find that they were not so simple, however, and would never easily fall for such a trick.

When they reached the end of the tunnel the women were confronted by a strange barrier. The thing almost seemed as if it were alive and moving. What a sickening sight, causing Saeko to shiver, repulsed by what she saw. "Great. It never ends, does it?" she asked as a voice filled the corridor. This was a dead end as she assumed it would be. Why wouldn't it be considering the winding maze they had just travelled?

For once however Minego had something useful to tell them. She had encountered something like this before? So that was how she had been captured down here. At least it made sense now how she was able to be captured. Snapping from her thoughts, Saeko shook her head and moved backwards down the way they came. Apparently Yuuka had something in mind, though whether or not it would work remained to be seen. Something told her that brute force wasn't the answer to this nightmare either.

"If this doesn't work we should try the route that smelled of old paper." she suggest quietly. There was no real way to tell if he could hear whatever they said regardless or if whispering worked. Whatever the case they could also try and change it up to throw him off anyhow.

[OOC: Welcome Back Saeko. We were worried a bit there ]

The use of extreme firepower, while normally might have been a good idea, was not so much while in a cramped underground tunnel. The previous uses of flame had been much smaller and less powerful, and they didn't need so much oxygen or have the ability to damage solid stone like Yuuka's most recent set of attacks. As the dragon shot forth it took up the entire space of the tunnel directly in front of the shinobi group. Immediately they would feel almost all of the nearby air sucked away and consumed by the eager flame, and its passage would leave them choking as they tried to catch their breath, a powerful wind trying to throw them forward at the same time as air rushed in to fill the sudden vacuum.

The flame dragon would become three smaller dragons, and they would one by one slam into the iron bars blocking their path. Well, the first one would, the explosion of the dragon causing the entire tunnel to feel like it was rattling, and then the bars were out of view as the latter two dragons rocketed forward. There, however, was a curve in the tunnel that started to lead upwards, and the dragons were incapable of changing direction and crashed into the cave floor. More rattling, like a giant shaking them, and the sound of rocks breaking under the force, and then suddenly the way forward was blocked by a wall of shattered and broken rocks.

Hrodgar's voice echoed, sounding incredibly close, almost as if he was directly on top of them, "You have a fiery spirit girl... I'll enjoy breaking that spirit!"

With those words also came a thousand tiny threads of iron, reaching up from the floor of the cavern. A moment for the women to notice them as they seemed to prepare to spring, and then they leapt upwards, attempting to latch onto Yuuka's skin-tight suit at her feet and legs. If a single thread managed to make contact Yuuka would be held in place by her own clothing as the rest of the threads tried to grab hold. The feeling of a thousand needles piercing her skin would follow, the tiny metal threads burrowing into Yuuka's feet and legs, invading her body through pores, reaching deeper towards her blood vessels. So if that single thread managed to touch her, the pain that would follow would be immense, enough to cause most normal people to go into shock. One could only hope that she managed to avoid, or perhaps her allies knew how to handle such an assault!

Whether or not the attack had worked was hard for Yuuka to determine. All she was aware of for the moment is that she could not breathe. Fire had definitely not been the right idea. Immediately thereafter, she would hear shattering and breaking as rocks came falling to the ground. I hope it isn't caving in, she thought simply, until something suddenly occurred.

A shout from Hrodgar. Yuuka was moving as soon as she heard it. There was definitely hostility in the voice, and so Yuuka worked to start creating an armor underneath her skin. This decision was quickly verified, or else she might have changed her mind, when threads popped out of the ground for only a second. Yuuka quickly moved backwards with a Shunshin, hoping that she would get away from the threads. Three of them would be used in quick succession, putting her 30 meters from the threads. Hopefully this would a) give her allies time to help, and b) give her time to prepare. As she did these jumps, Yuuka would think to herself, Well, they don't call me the White Lightning of Sand for nothing.

From here, Yuuka would watch to see if the threads were still coming. If they were, then she'd have no choice but to have her Air Trecks throw up a Wind Barrier for protection. Hopefully this would stop the bars, but just to be sure Yuuka would also start to chew some webbing. Yuuka's only hope then would be that the 30 meter distance and the Wind Barrier would give her enough time to finish chewing, which would take only 2 seconds. After it is done, Yuuka would spit out an enormous ball of webbing, which she would aim at the tunnel walls in front of her. It would burst, sending webbing all over the walls and sticking to everything close by. Yuuka would continue to thicken the empty cocoon, hoping that the chakra filled webbing would trap the threads and stick to them.

From behind, Yuuka would shout to her allies, "Minego, if you help me out of here then I promise that we will torture Hrodgar until he moans with pleasure!" The black threads would convince her that the situation was going down hill quicker than expected, but someone like Minego who had handled it all before might know what to do.

Effect: Wraps opponent in a cocoon. Once he has attacked he adds more webbing.

Drawback: Takes one post to form original attack.
Description: This technique makes a cocoon of web around the opponent, immobilizing them and leaving areas open for other jutsu. The user will first create a large ball of sticky thread, which he will burst to expand and capture his opponent. After catching an opponent, the user will begin to pour on layer upon layer of enough thread to build up a cocoon around them. The stickiness comes from mixing chakra with body fluid. The technique is so refined, that even after having left the body, chakra will still continue to flow through the thread to hold his opponent in place.

The moment the dragon made of flames came to life Saeko immediately regreted moving so that they might allow this to pass. The feeling of the oxygen growing thin in the air was most unpleasant; they were already in a terrible predicament as it was. Yet there was also a slight sliver of hope in the medic that her ally might be successful and that she might leave this place. She had come to sand to find someone and she had not managed to do so. If she died down here she might never truly know how and why her heart was broken.

From the moment it impacted Saeko had been working on a plan to get out of the tunnel quickly. She did not care to stick around once the rumbling had started. It was most curious however that when the flames did end the sound of Hrodgar's voice seemed to be closer to them. The sound appeared to be coming from above them which gave her a better sense of this place than she could have hoped for. If that was the case then one of the tunnels had to have a stairway or else she would have to create her own hole in the ceiling.

Before she could even entertain the idea of moving forward to deal with the cave in something else would assault them. Small wires shot up from the floor, seemingly alive, and seeking Yuuka as their target. Thinking quickly, Saeko would channel the blue chakra of a scalpel into her right hand. Coating her fingers with the chakra, Saeko rushed forward towards the wires while the chased Yuuka backwards. With a swipe of her hand she would attempt to cut them short, hopefully destroying their reach and animation in the process.

If her idea did not pan out Saeko would then turn and quickly shunshin towards Yuuka the full distance of the technique (10 meters).

"We should prepare to retreat and re-think our strategy." she said with a heavy sigh, trying to breath in the now thinner air.

Chakra Enjitou (Chakra Scalpel)

Effect: The user creates a two inch long scalpel of chakra extending from the tips of their fingers.

Drawback: If the user is struck with a C rank or higher technique their concentration will falter and the scalpel will dissolve.
Description: The user gathers a powerful aura of chakra around their fingers, creating a faint blade shape extending from their fingertips and glowing blue. This scalpel is two inches long and, if the user chooses, can be extended beneath the skin, to cut without breaking the skin. This scalpel is as hard as steel and can cut through muscles, arteries, and bones.
Limit: Must be a medic, must know Shosen no Jutsu.

Shunshin no Jutsu - Oshi (Body Flicker Technique - Push)

Effect: A Jutsu that allows a user to rush forward in almost instantaneous speed. Used to draw the user close to the opponent.

Drawback: May use 3 times a day. May perform 1 more each time learned. Passing amount renders the user's legs immobile due to severe pain. Unable to perform again unless gained medical treatment. Must move through an opening. Unable to maneuver around obstructing objects. Can't attack while performing any Shunshin or Variation.
Description: User is able to move forward in a straight line along the ground in almost instantaneous untraceable speed while temporarily masking the user's movements within 10 meters. A puff of smoke is occasionally used to disguise the user's movements. It is accomplished by focusing the user's chi along the ankles and foot. User mostly moves just with their ankles and feet. Jutsu takes up no movements. User may only use this Jutsu half of the movements may allow in a single round while rounding down. Example: User has 5 movements, user is able to perform Jutsu 2 times per round.
Limit: Universal NinJutsu or Universal TaiJutsu.

The threads writhed like angry snakes as they searched for their prey, and even when Yuuka shunshined backwards thirty meters they followed her with unerring accuracy, on her in a moment and trying to pierce her flesh. It was only when Saeko cut the threads with her chakra scalpal that they finally gave up their pursuit, writhing on the ground for a moment before becoming still. The voice of Hrodgar laughed then, both from nearby Saeko and Minego, and near Yuuka and Sir Snuggles.

"Ahahaha...! It seems I should have targeted the other female instead. How cunning of you to hide your abilities, girl... delicious... Just like a true Shinobi... You win your life this hour, but you won't be leaving my domain anytime soon. Go back, and find the pantry. There is food for your kind...

The tunnel that they had been traveling down had collapsed where Yuuka's dragons had impacted, a wall of rock and sand completely blocking their path. Even if they perhaps wanted to try and clear it, the possibility of further damaging the tunnel was a real risk, and they might bring the entire cave system down on them.

For now it seemed their only option was to return to the main cavern, and Minego seemed more than ready to do so, "I'm so hungry...! If I can eat something I'll be a lot more useful, pinky swear!
