Examiner 4- Team 2- Hiroki and Tenshi

[Chuunin Examiner]

The letters given to the applicants scattered them, sending the many people to the far corners of the island that is the Land of Moon, although one team just took a short jaunt down the street to the corner.

Still, though, no matter where they were sent, the address always lead to the same building; a short, squat warehouse that seemed constantly out-of-place, no matter where it was. Rusty metal walls with a tin roof left it looking downright rickety, and the interior was no comfort. A double-wide door would grate horrificly on the concrete floor as it was opened, leading into a dimlit interrogation-style room. A waist-high wooden table, lined with scratches and stains, stood imposingly behind two chairs, with a singular chair behind it. The names of the persons belonging to said chairs was etched in the back, and was visible from the doorway. Behind the table, another door could be seen, likely where the leaders of the exams would enter. But- these were the Chuunins. Expect the unexpected.

Once the ones selected for this made it to their place of coming to, they would open the door of the run down shack to find a air of history flowing from the cracks of the floorboards. There standing side by side,would be two door frames behind the table with the names on them. One was green stone with black cracking though out it, with green blocks on the corners glowing a white. The other door frame is red pine wood with deer hide straps holding the door upright with pegs driven into the floorboards to re-force the standing door frame, this doorway seems to letting off a foul odor from the other side. each door frame has a note on the door frame if they, that are named on the chairs, dare to read them.

It wasn't so much that Tenshi was quiet by nature; more that there was nothing important to say, here in the Land of Moon. She would do as bidden by her unseen guides, simple as that. Her inventory and knowledge remained as before - a map, a lock picking kit, a trio blood clotting pills, flashlights, a wireless radio (she put that on having thought of it), a lighter and a pack of matches - since who really was able to magically master entire new martial disciplines and gain more diverse equipment in the half-minute walk to the awkward warehouse.

The place left much to be desired as far as creature comforts went, but it didn't much matter. She had no intention of relaxing her guard. On the far side, she spotted the twin doors, and their notes. Tenshi, and Hiroki. Well, at least she was with a fellow Waterfall nin. Not that she'd hesitate to smash him into a small puddle if she needed to. Plucking her paper from the portal, she sat in her designaed chair - not comfortable - and read it's contents in curiosity, glancing up now and then to see if she could spot this Hiroki entering, her empty hand hovering in the vicinity of her summoning seal. Silence might be needed at any time.

To say that Hiroki was nervous could be taken as an understatement. If asked, he would deny it even though it showed. Regardless, the boy forced himself to be calm and placed the partial mask of optimism he'd practiced so well after his father's death. Ninja life hadn't been quite as fun as he'd hoped so far but the boy had learned so much.

Now here he was, an aspiring chuunin. He ran his equipment through his head once more, to calm himself down. 15m of rope tied to the left side of his belt with the full quiver of 50 each broad head, bullet head, and blunt head arrows on it's opposite. His buttbag had six different scrolls. Two held his bow and staff, Two others held each 22 knives and 135 hira-shuriken, and the last two smaller scrolls held each 22 knives and 120 hira-shuriken. His radio - which he made a point not to forget - was clipped to his ear.

He walked into the shack, noticing Tenshi already seated. Well, at least he was paired with another waterfall ninja. He spotted the doors next, which seemed to be a bit out of place though the building already had accomplished that. He walked over to the note on his door and picked it up, before walking to his chair and sitting down to read it.

Hiroki was quiet, from both nerves and being busy reading.

The fact two doors were not to be for each ninja would be deciding factor in this game for those two, Hiroki and Tenshi. The two papers would give the following information for the ninja in the room who were reading their papers,

Mission details,

you and the partner that you are paired with, are to steal the stone of power from the small bunker of the group called Jaava. This file contains a envelope of what this stone looks like, and this stone is somewhere on the 3rd floor below ground. Unknown number of guards, and unknown of how secure the building is. You need to figure out who is the leader of your group, and how to execute your plans. If you make it though, bring the stone back here though the door, it will find you. Once you pick this mission, the other doorway and papers will burn to the ground.

Mission details,

you and the partner that you are paired with, are to kidnap a leader of one of the feudal lords when he lands in the port. he is a key peace maker though a bit eccentric with the northern lords, the southern lords are almost at peace with the northern lords, but if this man does not show up, war will start over again. A larger unknown entity wants you kidnap the man so peace does not come about with the lords. There is a envelope that contains a picture of the lord and a small map.You and your partner need to figure out who is leader and how to execute your plans. Also, when your done, your doorway back to here will find you and bring you back here with your person of success. Once you pick this mission, the other doorway and papers will burn to the ground.

Well. Interesting. A retrieval mission. Truth be told Tenshi was more suited to forward assault than anything subtle, but the mission slip said nothing about method. Only to get it done. Simple and to the point.

Taking the initiative with her countryman, she would briefly explain the contents of her envelope. Truth be told she didn't think he looked like much, but had long ago discovered that appearances were merely the first layer of deception, such as her own.

"So, what does yours say?"

If there was to be fighting soon, the blood-eyed girl needed to be unencumbered, and so she would unwrap her scarf from around her face and drape it across her chair, then unzip and strip off her large coat, revealing her minimal garb. This too she would place on her chair. She could come back for them later. She tugged gently at her gloves to make sure they were secure, and waited for Hiroki to do as he would.

"Wait, yours is something different? I guess that explains the last sentence..." He paused, before actually going to respond. The woman shed her coat, and Hiroki finally answered her after hearing her question.

"Mine says to kidnap a feudal lord and help spark a war." That small statement was indeed the best explanation Hiroki could come up with. "So... I guess we have to pick which mission to do then actually do it."

After he finished Hiroki also made mention of the envelope with the picture and map in it.

"I see. A moral dilemma, of sorts," Tenshi noted, pacing about the room now. She couldn't bring herself to remain seated. Neither task seemed like would be easier than the other for her, inherently. She didn't have much in the way of stealth capabilities, excepting Silence's cloaking screen. But she could fight against multiple assailants at close range, and probably win. It all hung on what, precisely, Hiroki's skills lay in.

"Morality doesn't matter. This is a test. One we need to pass. You decide; which would be more suited to your talents?"

Truth be told, Hiroki was trying to figure that out for himself. On one hand, he could probably take out people well if he needed to but stealth on a whole other than what he knew from hunting animals wasn't quite yet one of his specialties. Kidnapping was a whole other story. Tenshi was right, morality needed to go out the window. If they did the kidnapping mission they would be out in the open, and able to move around much better. That thought in mind he told her his choice.

"I don't really think it'll be easier, but I think the mission I read would be better suited."

Tenshi would claim the map as soon as her partner was done with it, to examine the target's location and potential escape routes, as well as determine any ideal chokepoints where she could summon forth Silence from its place in the hidden grove behind her home back in Waterfall Village to block access to wider areas, effectively preventing outside support.

"Keep in mind that though the target and his guard may not have wronged us, if they insist on fighting a battle they can't win, lethal force may be called for. If you can't bring yourself to kill them, don't. Better my own hands are stained. As to the target's extraction, carrying him manually would be preferred for a stealthy escape. If that's impossible, I can contain him with little trouble, but it would attract unwanted attention. Probably a lot of it.

"To recap, our objective is to capture the leader of the Daimyo's ambassador, alive, and return him to this position. Casualties should be kept to a minimum, but don't hesitate to kill if threatened. We go in fast and hard, trying to attract as little attention as possible. You will be in command for the duration of this operation, unless you have objections? However, if I give the order to withdraw, that takes priority or I will knock you out and drag you away myself. Am I understood? Yes? Good. No? Too bad, our course is set. Let's move out."

Without waiting for any sort of reply, she would approach Hiroki's door and attempt to open it, whether by pushing, pulling, or sliding. Perhaps she was a little to gruff? No matter. He'd get his chance to give the orders, prove he had what it took to earn increased authority. She was only here to find the rest of Yggdrasil's crew, whose leafy wings adorned her back and arms. Promotion would simply be a side benefit, if it came.

Should the door cooperate with her, she would enter to whatever lay beyond, wary of potential threats.

OOC; I even said you need to pass though a doorway (portal) that I set up for this to start, people. exiting to the streets means a delay for me to start with this. You guys were doing so nicely too, I had hoped to be able to start this by now. lol

Hiroki nodded as he heard Tenshi speak more. It was good to be working with a fellow waterfall shinobi, made things slightly more comfortable for the young shinobi. He didn't really say much but stood from his chair as well. He thought about her statement about killing the person. "I'll kill, but only if I absolutely have to." He didn't like the thought, but knew that in some cases it was unavoidable.

As they started to move out, Hiro followed Tenshi through the door that would hopefully lead them to their mission.

Walking though the doorway would prove to be a simple matter, as it was just like passing though a normal doorway, the only difference was that this doorway would take the pair to another place and time. When both have exited the door, it would vanish from their sight so going back would prove a little hard. They would find themselves on top of a large white marble staircase on top of a hill, this staircase was 666 steps total, and it had the smooth railings that were about three feet wide with large marble balls on the scroll pattern. Behind themselves, they could hear the marketplace, in front of them was the warehouses and docks. The noises they could hear are normal sounding ones, with kids laughing, the clicking of coins behind them, and the carts moving about.

The villagers are dressed in american colonists clothing styles, with the skirts and long sleeves on the woman, with no cleavage showing at all. The men in their thigh long pants, their high socks, and buckle shoes. This place was about to get important visitor, as he was heading for the castle in the upper left corner of the map. his boat was not in sight though, the ship master may shed some light on this though, though looking around before you set up would be also wise. Which action will you go with?

...Oh. This...could be a slight problem. Tenshi was well used to standing out and being a distraction, based on the way she dressed. She was comfortable with her body, but this...this was very much awkward. Here she stood in a bikini bottom and backless top that had its sides actually receding the closer they got to her neck from its starting position under her ribs, and these people were wearing layers from head to toe! Yes, her outfit generally left little to the imagination, but in comparison with the living history book she'd just walked into she was practically naked. Hell, she'd probably look less out of place if she were actually naked.

The stray thought struck her though, that based on the description received they were looking for an daimyo's ambassador. someone who typically dressed in loose robes to hold pen and ink, and easily conceal small weapons for personal defense. Someone like that would be eqully out of place wouldn't they?

She turned to Hiroki, who was similary underdressed, but not nearly to the same degree as herself. The tiniest hint of panic crept into her voice as she spoke. "I feel we should try to blend in but...I'm not dressed for the occasion, and can't use Genjutsu. Any ideas...Boss?"

Hiroki's usual exuberant smile faded almost as soon as he stepped through the door and noticed the attire worn by basically everyone here. This was both a blessing and a curse, considering the man they were looking to kidnap was supposed to be dressed oddly in comparison as well. That would supposedly make eventually finding him easier. At least, that's how Hiro saw it.

The two shinobi were definitely out of place and Hiroki's first thought was to just use Henge and blend in - though as Tenshi spoke she stated she could not use it. He had to think on his feet, something that missions with his team before the exams had helped on. Once more he was a team leader, so he'd have to play the part. After all, he really wanted to be chunin.
"I can use Henge to blend in, if you can't use it then I think we've got two options. One's obviously just stay out of sight, you could probably use the rooftops of these buildings to do that. The second one I think would be to find someone about the same size as you and knock 'em out and take their clothes."

His pattern of speech was only moderately shaky as he rattled off his plan. One good part about this type of mission is that they were trying to find someone. That was a hunt, and Hiroki was a hunter. Now he and Tenshi needed to figure out how to get to and capture their prey. Their target was supposed to be coming into the port. From their vantage point Hiro looked that way, but could see no ships. Hopefully that meant the ambassador was simply not yet in the city.

Hiroki didn't like sticking out when they were supposed to be stealthy, and with some quick movements of his hands he used the Henge technique, shifting the appearance of his clothing to something that would easier blend in. He looked at Tenshi and then back to the dock area, then back to the town.

"We need to figure out when the boat gets here, but then what path he's most likely to take. If we could get him before he leaves the boat...or...when he's kinda alone it would be best, kidnapping someone important would probably make everyone go nuts. Do you have your radio? Cause if you do we can still talk with each other if we get separated or have to split up."

It was at the sight of the ninja female that other females in the area started to cover their kids eyes as they loudly gasped and backed away from the pair. A few young men, to the right at a open stall with produce from the ground, openly stared at the female as they stopped selling their vegetables. A older man to the left of them with a shiny piece of hardware on his person took a step at them, his bright eyes looked them over before he spoke to the almost naked female as she was more flashy then her counter part,

Salve, qui estis? absque mulieribus et infantibus venisti?

His hands were steady as he eyed the pair, if they could figure out what he meant or even remotely gave a sign of something to the man, he would take abrasive action on the pair to drive them to the water. His hair was white, his top hat was on his head, his skin was tan, and the smell of cooking could be smelled by now over the stench of the area, there are 'dirt' everywhere as the animals were in this market place as well. there was some out of place standing blocks of wood, in a line on the north side, farthest from the water area was this, and behind it was large cages that did not have anything or anyone in them. A boat could be seen now in the distant, in the line that met sea to sky. It could contain the person that they were hunting right this second.

Hiroki took a single step back. Luckily, most if not all of the attention was currently on Tenshi. Sure, they were being spoken too, but thankfully Hiro had the advantage of the active henge technique to help him blend into the crowd. Hopefully Tenshi would be able to handle the situation.

As much as he didn't like doing it, carefully he tried to make his way away from the man who was speaking. Lucky for the young ninja, the man was not blocking the way down toward the docks and the water. Disappearing into the everyday people would be easy if he kept the henge active and did not speak any.

He kept track of what was going on mentally. Tenshi was at the moment a very good if inconvenient distraction. That meant Hiro was alone on this mission until such a point that she managed to get out of that situation. As he approached the docks he could see the boat in the distance - hopefully with the target on board.

Communication would be difficult, especially with this odd language. If there was ever a time for him to think on his feet it would be now. He no longer had the map - Tenshi claimed that. He did have the picture of the target. If it came down to it, hopefully that would be the key to successful communication.

For now, he walked by the docks. Waiting...and hoping for some hint or bolt of inspiration.

Henge had been activated my last post, though i didn't spoiler the tech itself [there was a support topic that said while recommended the technique didn't need spoilered]. Went off the assumption that that technique was successful.

The ship carried the man closer to the docks it can be fully seen now from the shore lines. The docks were kind of oddly built. There was one long strip going down and out to the sea. Here one person would have to walk single file, to get to shore. There was smaller boats tied up along the dock, and the people there were taking turns on coming on and off the dock. There was at the end of the strip of dock was a large floating square of wood that the much larger ships would dock at. There are the normal items that one would fine at a dock though on the shoreline. This was all set out on a opening to a walkway up the shore lines, and narrow path to the top a sheer cliff. If a person was to fall from this cliff they would fall for about 5.5 seconds before hitting the ground.

The path that Hiroki is on currently is leading down along the slope of the cliff with a couple paths leading up and down to the shore lines, this small path is paved with stone leading to the docks.

Suddenly out of nowhere, a doorway appeared behind the woman who was being used for a distraction, as her counter part got away. It creaked and then fell over the woman, making her transfer to another part of the world. It seems Hiroki's picture would be a little outdated now. A voice could be heard for Tenshi alone as she was being transferred,

moving to faze two, Tenshi, you are now person in Hiroki's picture, you are to fight his attacks on your person now. If you wish to fail in your new mission, then just stand around look important.

She would find herself on a boat with herself sitting next to pile of clothing much like the man in the picture was wearing. Her items would still be there but her map of the island would not be there for her. Instead, there was the clothes, a letter, and sealing ring. She had a few seconds to dress up or be found as is. The map would be transferred over to Hiroki person, as a beam of light in front of him with a voice speaking,

faze two has been completed, Hiroki your mission has changed to priority four, instead of kidnap, you are to assassinate the figure in your picture. Please check your picture to see your new objective.

If he looked at the image it would show Tenshi in the man's clothes.

OOC: So the holiday season is brutal, and I have next to no leisure time to speak of for a couple weeks. but now im back a couple weeks before it happens AGAIN for CHRISTMAS. thank you for your patience and understanding in not murdering the shit out of me .-.

UPDATE: so because holiday fuckery and my hosting of the family thanksgiving stuff, my parents have decided to STAY at my tiny little abode until after Christmas. my attempts to secure internet time to myself have met with not-insignificant Parent Aggro, delaying my posting by a few days as I squirrel in a couple of minutes to read and try to write out a post.

So Tenshi was confused, but keeping her thoughts to herself. She and Hiroki had been noticed, naturally, and things just went bonkers from there. A crowd formed, hiroki moved off to handle ground assault, suggesting she move along the rooftops, and just when she was going to comply she was...elsewhere, a voice resounding in her mind. Hiroki was going to attack her? She didn't even know where he was! She didn't know where SHE was! Aside from in a boat cabin, judging by the rocking and the wooden frame. There were clothes though. Assumingly they were a prompt to cover up a bit. There was also a letter, and a ring.


......Oh. Oh, no. That had to mean...


...Tenshi was now the Ambassador. She was the target. Hiroki would have to assassinate her.

If she managed to deliver the letter herself though, perhaps that meant victory of her own? Good, she didn't really want to kill the poor boy. She unclipped her weapons belt, removing her twin crossbows and her butt bag in a single fluid motion and unbuttoned her chaps, which fell to the ground simply due to gravity.

With her free hand, she reached behind her neck and at the small of her back, undoing the small fastenings of her shirt, which also floated to the earth of its own accord. Dressed now in naught but her bikini bottoms, she tried to figure out how to don the complicated mess of fabric she was expected to wear, and made her best attempt at such. The result was rather disheveled, but functional as a man's attire. The top sat somewhat loose, so her small breasts were barely noticeable. At a glance most would probably think her a young boy, if a very pretty and exotic one.

She rolled the letter thinly and slid it into the ring's finger hole without bothering to read it, and placed both it and her old clothes into her butt bag before belting it back around her waist along with her weapons.

It was then she noticed her map was gone. Crap. She didn't know where the meeting was to take place, and was not provided with the escorts she assumed her former target - now herself - would have.

Doing her best to be inconspicuous, she opened her door and stepped out, come what may.

Hiroki stopped on the docks, standing off to the side slightly so that anyone who still needed to pass could do so. The random voice from nowhwere startled him slightly, thank goodness he was disguised to look like he was from this era so standing still didn't make him seem out of place.

The young genin stared at the now changed picture dumbfounded. He was to assassinate his partner? This exam was becoming ridiculous. He looked around before putting the paper and map into his butt-bag.

"No."

His disagreement was clear enough from the look on his face that he would not do it. Even so, he voiced his opinion out loud so that hopefully that the examiner could hear. This mission had turned into a farce in the boy's eyes.

"I will not kill a fellow waterfall ninja." He shifted uncomfortably and started to walk away from the docks. "If it takes killing fellows from my own village to become a chuunin then I don't even want the damned title. This exam is a joke." He understood that as a ninja he was supposed to follow the orders of his kage, but this was something he knew his Kage would never order without good reason.

Hiroki believed that a chunin was a ninja who was supposed to make a hard decision, but above all was supposed to keep his team safe even if it meant failure in the mission. He was sticking to his answer and would not kill Tenshi, even if it meant failure.
