Personality:
It nearly goes without statement but Asa loves animals. Regardless of what they look like or what skills they may have, Asa simply loves them. To see an animal being mistreated or hurt is simply heart breaking for the girl. She is by no means a fighter but when it comes to saving an animal she will fight tooth and nail to do so, as will her friends. People have commented that Asa is mostly useless and her animals do all the work for her, but she would rather surround herself with animals that lover her as opposed to fighting.
Though her full name is Chiasa she always goes by Asa-chan, even at the ripe age of fifteen. She has a very positive outlook almost pushing to the point of naivety and she feels that going by Asa-chan will endear her more towards people. All she ever really wants is to make friends. When it comes to animals she has been known to show a dominant streak, but not in a cruel way. She establishes herself as the boss animal to gain respect and after that they bond in friendship. Many have commented that it was more like she was an animal herself.
She tends to think of human things very loosely. In her speech it is apparent that she is far closer to the beast world than she is to the animal world. She worries about things like winter and food storage even though she lives in a home with a heater and a store only seconds away. It could be said that she is a simple creature, preferring natural things to man-made instruments such as electronics. She is a skilled cook and she can sew and knit with ease. She has learned all of these things to make her life a happy one, not to focus on battles and politics.
Appearance:
Long light brown locks decorate her head. Bangs cover her fore head and the remaining hair is tied down into long braids that fall to her hips. Red ribbons cross across the braids and wrap down to tie off at the bottom. She hears a simple high collared black dress with long sleeves. Her white slip can be seen in the form of lace around her collar and sleeves. Like most females she hears right black shorts beneath her dress for the sake of modesty. Her straight brows rest over brilliant aqua eyes that look on with love and care.
Fine mesh covers her forearms, leading down to fingerless black gloves. A copper coin rests atop her knuckles. A cloak covers her body in a startling shade of red. The hood is often up over her head and clasped across her neck with a leather tie. Throughout the cloak is a great amount of knives store upon her person. While she is not a violent creature she keeps them for a variety of purposes from eating to cutting herbs. She can often be spotted carrying a picnic basket filled with food and herbs to eat or sell.
Often times she can be spotted carrying a large and decorative pair of scissors. Starting blue at the handles and moving from yellow to red, ornate vines are carved into them. The handles have a slight curve upon the top reminiscent of the wings of a butterfly. Most curiously, Asa tends to go barefoot. Her feet are toughened from years of not wearing shoes, though if she is forced to take a mission she will don stockings and thick soled black shoes. Overall she prefers to feel the earth between her toes and likes her legs bare.
Background:
Asa is without family except for her grandmother. When she was younger her parents were killed, both of them were ninja of the Stone Village. Thus Asa went to live with her grandmother. When she was thirteen and completed the academy she got a place of her own. Her grandfather was still alive then and recruited some locals to help build her a cabin in the woods, exactly the kind of dwelling she wanted. It was cozy yet spacious, and close to her grandparents.
It was around that age when she started befriending many animals and thus she needed room for them to be able to come in, thus the spacious set up and very large doorways. When she was fourteen her grandfather passed away. No one was surprised due to his health but it hurt all the same. She visited her grandmother more often now, worried about her living all alone in her house. She often brings food and other various things over, she even goes over on the weekends to help her clean.
Asa occasionally stops in to the village to see how things are going and take a simple mission. She tries to avoid anything that has to do with fighting since she finds it messy and unneeded. Mostly she likes to spend her time reading books, taking care of her animals, or searching for herbs. A lot of time goes in to taking care of the stream of animals she is constantly befriending. She does not have many human connections but the few she has she cherishes deeply so she spends as much time with those people as she can.
