Shaking off the troubles of a year or so of odd jobs for food, water and shelter, Asmire gave a mighty yawn from under his lean-to. Built against the side of a cliff near a waterfall, he found that his faithful companion; the fire toad known as Smokey was gone. "Probably looking for food." The Hyuuga muttered to himself and he took a hold of his jacket, sliding it over his top two arms, allowing the other two sets to slacken. His bottom set of arms moved over his items taking a mental check. Smoke pouches, thirty eight of them inside of his bag on his left hip, along with ten lighters. Two combat cigars laid in this pouch as well, along with 4 packs of combat cigarettes. A pair of soldier pills, a single Kunai, a slot eighty fake exploding tags, two sticky lightning grenades, an Incendiary Grenade and a small scroll rounded out his first bag. His second bag was invaded by his other hand, feeling around. What met him was a slot of lightning tags, a slot of exploding tags, a slot of ice pouches, 5 mine tags, 10 locking tags, a chaff grenade, an ice grenade, a wireless radio and a pair of binoculars with X-ray, Condition, Substance, Camera filters.
Hand moving around his belt, he found Five thermal capsules, four black leaf cigars, five boxes of matches rounded his utility belt out rather well. on to his middle pouch just around his tailbone he felt three type 1 cans of hyoushi spray paint for tagging, and a pair of goggles fashioned into a pair of sunglasses with flash-proof lenses. Donning his type six robe, he found thirty smoke pouches within. Just as he left them. Setting up his pouch projector to his lower set of arms, Asmire loaded it with smoke pouches to the full point.
Rolling his neck around he grinned in a rather macabre way. His white eyes looked over his sunglasses, his incredibly creepy black sceleraed and gold iris'd third eye on his forehead blinked in tandem with the others. Shoving his index finger and thumb into his mouth, he let out a whistle that pierced the serene waterfall shelter. Suddenly from the underbrush Smokey burst forth, waiting in front of Asmire wearing a medium sized saddle on it's back with a large bag hanging off the side of it with all of Asmire's items he rarely used. Thumbing his double Katana on his back, Asmire patted his buddy on the head and mounted the saddle, taking the reigns. "How about we head off to that little town we found in Febuary? There's a carnival going on there. Plenty of food... fun... Women." He laughed a course smoker's laugh as he lit up a cigar and chomped it between his teeth forcibly. A cord of silk thread and another of regular thread. Both barely there due to their clear status hanging off his belt, ready to be used. Whether in combat or in crafting.
An hour or two later, Asmire and his toad rode into town with surprising speed. Dismounting the toad, Asmire secured his cloak's hood over his odd extra eye and pushed his glasses over his Hyuuga bleached eyes and headed off. "Don't get in too much trouble buddy." Asmire chuckled and sent Smokey off on his own. Heading into the carnival, Asmire noticed quite a few games of chance. A roulette wheel, Blackjack, a Clam shell pick stall, a goldfish catch game and even a balloon pop game. Numerous other games he noticed, but didn't give any attention to. Heading toward the one on one blackjack table, Asmire dropped a thousand Ryo on the table. "Hit me." He stated, not even looking at the card that was already there for him. The dealer looked at Asmire and put down a Red ten of hearts, flipping the other card, which was a ten of spades. As the dealer flipped the other two over. "Dealer busts."[/b] Pushing a thousand ryo worth of chips over toward Asmire. "Seems like I just have good luck today." Asmire chuckled, pushing the two thousand back into the pot as the dealer dealt a card to himself and one to Asmire. Quickly, a voice appeared in his head.
"Luck... doesn't exist." a warn out old man's voice, full of rasp and wisdom penetrated his head. Asmire had dealt with hearing voices for years now... this was just another one. "Yes, your suspicions are correct. Just another schizophrenic episode my boy." The card in front of him was another ten, this time of the clubs suit. "I'll hold" Asmire waited. Pressing his luck. The dealer gave him an odd look and drew two other cards, flipping his face down. "25, Dealer busts." Pushing four thousand ryo back to Asmire, who immediately pushed it right back. His eyes focusing on the card. "It's low. Hit twice." The voice told him, the voice of luck being aged and somewhat gritty... Asmire trusted his inner thoughts, the monologue seeming trustworthy. Flipping his own card, he noticed the card was a four of diamonds. "Hit me, twice." Asmire commanded, tapping the table with his index finger twice. Both cards a ten of clubs and a seven of hearts. "I believe that's blackjack..." Asmire grinned, pulling in his winnings. Putting his cash back into a pouch and his chips in a burlap bag.
Wandering toward the balloon popping game, Kunai and senbon were in a tray before him, the air filled toys wobbling before him. Tossing a chip toward the worker, Asmire picked up a Kunai and turned away from the board, tossing it without looking. A resounding pop rang out, followed by four more. Asmire's Kunai had actually fallen and popped every balloon on the way down from the top! "Your 'luck'... is wasted on such frivolous things boy. Real 'luck' is tested on the battlefield. Dodging blows, landing critical hits and breaking bones. Disemboweling." "WINNER!" The worker yelled out, pointing to Asmire and handing him an over sized stuffed Tanooki. "Yo, this thing has balls the same size as me!" Asmire roared out in laughter, almost ignoring the voice, tossing another chip at the worker. Picking up another Kunai, Asmire blindly threw it. This time it didn't even make it to the board. Banking off the side of the stand, it hit a balloon on the blunt side and launched itself up, hitting the supply of senbon and making them rain down upon the balloons, popping every one of them. Thinking to himself, Asmire indeed thought he had good luck.
