Personality:
Outwardly, Setsuko can appear to be a stern and humorless individual - She has a hefty dislike of wasting time or showing disrespect to one's duties. A girl of few words, friendly and casual interactions do not come easily toward her. With a more severe outlook than the average teenager, it often sets her at odds with her peers, as she is dismissive toward those she sees as irritating. Being rather blunt with her opinions of others is another reason why cooperation is often difficult for her.
However, Setsuko is not an inherently unkind person. She will rarely seek out another specifically to belittle them - Somewhat paradoxically, she prefers to avoid internal conflict even though she has a tendency to not sugarcoat her opinions, and seems to not realize the connection between them. She excels, however, at putting her personal feelings behind her while on-mission, focusing only on the task at hand. Toward her superiors, she is dutiful, attentive, and especially loyal to figures she respects. She finds herself able to respect those of her age group who show exceptional talent or strength of character no matter their other personality attributes.
A deep loyalty to the Sand colors most of her severity. While young, she has the determination to put her life on the line for her village's sake. Though she attempts to be as efficient and professional as possible, Setsuko has a deep sense of pride for her status as a ninja and her accomplishments can at times go to her head. She is not quite arrogant, but deeply confident in her own abilities.
Appearance:
Of average height for her age, Setsuko's lithe body shows the serious manner in which she takes her duty as a ninja, with muscles evident and as expected for an active agent. Her skin is tanned from days under the beating sun of the Land of Wind, her face triangular and somewhat pointed, giving a rather severe impression. Her uniform is very much standard for a Sand ninja - Consisting of a tactical vest and assorted tools of the trade tucked away. A jian is slung over her shoulder strap, her weapons and assorted tools assembled perfectly within her uniform, to an almost obsessive degree.
When off-duty, she prefers to wear clothes of a plain and drab color - A simple shirt and pair of trousers are usually enough. Lacking much in the way of vanity, she seems almost uncomfortable in civilian clothing, being stiff and awkward in most social situations. Unless undercover, Setsuko always wears her forehead protector, often as an armband.
Her hair is auburn, cut short from its natural length to about neck-height, with her bangs completely trimmed. Her eyes are a dark grey, the irises small and the general shape rounded, giving a fittingly cold and direct impression. When addressing others, her voice - which is quite deep and cutting for her age - tends to be enthusiastic and respectful toward her superiors, but dull and monotone toward peers.
Background:
There are times when blood does run thicker than water. Setsuko Akiyama was born to a pair of loyal ninjas of the Village Hidden in the Sand, both members of the village's ANBU forces. Growing up, while she knew no shortage of love and affection, Setsuko was being groomed from the get-go to follow in their footsteps as a ninja - With all the harsh doses of reality that such a thing entailed.
Indeed, for a young child, Setsuko was taught of the harsh reality of the defenders of the village, even earlier than the typical academy student. It was a sobering thing for an adolescent to become aware of, an innocence lost in a sense. Love, however, was the reason for their somewhat harsh upbringing - Her parents truly wished for her to be prepared for the life that was ahead of her.
It was perhaps fortunate that they did as such, in the end - the news of their deaths in action would have devastated an ordinary child, but Setsuko, through her tears, grimly accepted that her parents had given their lives for the village's cause. If nothing else, being raised for the eventuality - and that she would likely never know the reason - gave her the readiness to cope with the grief that followed. She was seven years old at the time.
As they would have wished, their daughter grew up to pass through the academy with the ease efficiency granted one. Having already mastered several techniques and graduated to the rank of Genin, Setsuko was prepared to enter the world that had so consumed her parents' all - For the sake of the Sand.

The needles are almost invisible so it is hard for the enemies to see them. This technique may be blocked by large objects, however something small such as a sword, or a staff will allow the needles to seperate still moving towards the object it was originally sent to. Not a powerful technique as the user is capable of hurling up to ten senbon wind needles that gives out minor cuts. However this could be used as a more of a set up technique to allow the user to perform a more dangerous technique.

Description: The user molds chakra and breathes in. He or she then blows out and an arrow made of wind is shot from the user’s mouth. This arrow may be blocked as it is just a large consumption of wind, however it can not be deflected away. This means that the object must be large in size enough to defend from one against the wind. The size of the arrow is the size of the opponent's mouth with the length of three feet as it can travel up to the distance of twenty meters. This technique is used for short range to steer an opponent away from the user.

Description: User performs the handseals as they take in a deep breathe. Holding it for a brief moment they quickly exert it as a large blast of air the size of the user's head, and double the length is sent out towards the opponent within the distance of twenty five meters. This technique is capable of crushing an opponent's ribs if hit directly, or capable of dislocating a shoulder if hit along the shoulder. This technique is sometimes used to break down large doors, or to smack an opponent away from the user when the user comes into a bind. Depending on the user's class level depends on the distance this technique may be used. When the user is "D" class the distance is that of twenty five meters. Each class the user is higher then that of "D" The distance increases by five meters. When the user masters the art of wind, the blast increases by doubling it size as the distance is increased by ten meters.

The chakra is released in a burst that flies outward from the blade in a cone shape. Aside from the impact of the blade, the chakra involved causes the enemy to be knocked backward, breaking through most defenses.
