As the team pushed forward into the cavern, the rhinos charged recklessly ahead as Emi alerted the team to the plethora of enemies deeper within. To his great surprise, Maseo offered to cast some sort of divine protection on the team, an offer which Turin accepted gratefully. Once the blessing was conferred, or whatever it was Maseo intended to do, he would signal the team to move forward. Turin, ever-cautious, stayed behind the team, listening and watching. He stayed always behind his crossbow, pieing his corners so that he was never exposed to something he wasn't already pointing at. The din of the stampede drowned out nearly all else, but his keen senses would be searching for anything that indicated the presence of danger. (Observation check)
Should anything be detected, he would deal with it accordingly. However, if the way seemed clear he would press onward.
Pending on result of Observation check:
Shortly after losing sight of the rhino herd, a loud metallic clang shook the walls of the cavern, and was followed closely by the blare of an alarm. That sure didn't take long, he thought as he rounded the corner, dreading what he would find.
Before the team was a great steel door, dented by the stampede but otherwise still standing. It was a great beast of an entryway, but Turin was vastly more concerned with the dozens of enemies Emi identified behind it. No doubt they would be waiting to ambush whoever came through, and every second the team wasted gave the defenders more time to prepare. If he had the time he could probably have picked the lock, but with the entire base alerted time was not on their side. That door needed to go down right away, but Turin knew that he lacked the raw smashing might to do it himself.
"Get this door down, now!" He shouted over the howling of the alarm, backing away from the door so as not to be caught by whatever technique his teammates used. He didn't direct the order at anyone in particular, hoping that whoever fancied himself the strongest would seek to prove it. Once the door was busted down, assuming that anybody jumped to the task, Turin would be on hand to fire into the open entryway, well out of the collateral zone of his sword-wielding team. Based on what he had seen, he assumed that Maseo was likely to go rushing in first, provided that Emi didn't beat him to the punch. Regardless of who went in first, Turin would be ready to follow them and shoot anything that moved. Until then, he had his crossbow trained on the door and stood about fifteen meters back from it. Hopefully, that distance would be enough that he wouldn't be immediately bowled over by whatever came out. Hopefully, it would be enough to not be killed by his own team.
