    The volley of quills happened as Shiki landed on the ground after his failed taijutsu, he would need to move quickly to avoid them. He underestimated the creature's situational awareness, and was not able to catch it flat footed. The large, loud air ship flying past didn't help the situation much either. With his chance at a quick surprise attack gone. He would have to face the creature face to face.

    Shiki landed on the ground and grinned. It jousted and lasted. The spines...He snapped his fingers and summoned forwards his trusty shield. Digging down into his stance, his shield would absorb the blunt of the blows. He stepped low and the needles simply deflected off his shield flying every which away. He then canted the shield in such a way that the spines would not fly towards his fellow hunters. He drew a sword and looked down at his own shield using the reflection in the shield to watch the beast.

Learning Sense Motive 100/125

    As Zuruel began his attack of creating strange creatures out of his body, Yaromir, Inoryu deduced the invisible force to be, would be able to deduce the jutsu in use before it would fully take effect. In response he sent out a volley of chakra missiles at the attacking kedion and his little monsters. "Hey wait," Inoryu started, "this is a hunt, why is he attacking another contestant? There aren't any creatures around to justify it. Zuruel attacking another contestant and his ally... wait, I think I am sensing some genjutsu in play... That Shiro is under an enchantment."

    As for Yunko, the laptop would show that the slashing of the armadillos would connect, and brought the young ninja to his knees. The lot of them would jump back momentarily, before they would charge forward at him again to deliver the killing blow. Inoryu couldn't help but feel some anxiety as he witnessed yet another contestant approaching Death's door.

    Yaromir would succeed in destroying the humunculous creations. The disgusting creatures birthed from nowhere to attack Shiro and his enchanter would be obliterated by the force jutsu. The host invisible possibly by his effort of genjutsu.

    The fight was on by possibly the strongest shinobi of the competition and the deadliest creature hunted. Inoryu watched carefully, the results of this clash of wills. Who would prevail as the more capable hunter?
 
    Shiki recoiled as the hits knocked his shield arm backwards, rocking his body slightly. He watched the bandersnatch move across the polished reflection on his shield, skulking away. He raised his hands and gathered two throwing stars with sonic emitters and hurled them in different directions. Each of the shuriken would embed themselves into the abandoned buildings. They would start to make noises that would hopefully distract or confuse the bandersnatch about where his location would be. Shiki then darted over to the opposite side of the building where he could still sense the bandersnatche's location. With more then 40 meters to cover, Shiki moved so quickly as to vanish and appear closer to the Bandersnatch.

    He grabbed a grenade and hurled it over the building itself using an arcing throw to go over the building and putting a bit of back spin on the throw to make it appear blurred. However, the beast displayed great hunting instincts of its own, electing to close in on its prey, bypassing the grenade. The beast roared as it sprang forward with a powerful jump as it plowed through the rest of the building springing out a Shiki. What was Inoryu feeling? Nerves? Anxiety? There was some kind of emotion summoned in him after witnessing the events of the hunt, and he found himself cheering for the good natured Shiki, intuitively. He had saved Kibo's life.

    The bandersnatch seemed incapable of restraining its anger. It could not gather itself and sailed off further than it originally intended, sending it crashing into the building across the way completely, destroying it. It was stigmatizing. The rumble from the building fell around the monster as it let our a roar of annoyance rather than pain, its efforts to capture its prey was slow at best. It seemed its rage was about to reach its peak. At that point there was not telling what could happen to the immediate area. It's large paws terrorized the ruined fortress.

    Shiki's follow up with the Tokihaga would not occur in in the manner he wanted. The sword was meant to penetrate the creature's skull, but the bandersnatch was sent crashing past him. It was now 50 meters away from his original position in the opposite direction of his sword.
   
    Somehow, Shiki twisted violently in the air with his extended sword, cutting down the forest and ruins in the sword's path with relative ease. The spin caught the beast while still mid air, cutting the creature at the back of his spine just above its shoulder blades. As the blade made contact with the beast's quills, lightning of the blade sparked off of the creature. The lightning had no effect on the giant beast, however, and it continued it's shot into the building, where it crumbled away around the monster.

    As the creature raged, it exploded from the rubble of the building it just destroyed. The rage that it exuded was extreme. It's body turned and it's eyes were red with rage. With fury in it's eyes it charged Shiki as he threw shuriken. The beast charged through the caltrops that Shiki planted without any adverse effect. The only thing that was on the beast's mind was killing the hunter that dared to challenge it's dominance. Once in range, with nothing but a single stride of it's large body, it whipped it's massive tail around. It's already destructive tail whip was empowered further by it's boundless rage.

    The bandersnatch would collide with the Lightning Hydra that the Shiki Senri had summoned forth. The power of the beast's tail swipe would bash through the lightning hydra like it was nothing. The explosion of lightning and sound would do very little damage to the creature as its physical body bashed through the mass of energy. However, that bit of damage was enough to knock the creature back and into a prone position. It would not be enough to stop the swinging of its long powerful tail as it was knocked back.  The creature rolled onto the prone position still enraged and unable to move it's jaws to vent its anger. The tip of the swinging tail was on course to hit the torso of the hunter as it was stunned and knocked back prone.
   
    The laptop screen split to show other feeds from different cameras while Shiki fought on with the Bandersnatch. Ryutatsu Kyoudo, in his search for more creatures to hunt, had stumbled across the unfortunate Yunka and saved his life from the dire armadillos with a display of master swordsmanship, while Hamura had come across the remains of the giant gator that was killed by Shiki Senri. The gator had been stripped of all available and edible flesh, and Hamura could be seen recovering the gear that had been swallowed along with the boy. He would then spot new tracks and would begin a new hunt.
 
    Inadvertently, Ryutatsu Kyoudo would find himself on the same trail as Hamura which lead to a deer. The deer wasn't worth any points, yet they stalked the creature. The two of them would only have to wait for a few moments as one of the cheetahs exploded out of the brush and charged towards the buck. The buck picked up on the attack and attempted to take off, but as it did so two more cheetah would come out from the side bushes and close in on the creature. The three cheetahs would spring up from all sides and then claw at the buck, and the largest of the trio would grip it's jaws around the bucks throat.

    Inoryu observed all three displays on the laptop simultaneously: Shiki dueling the bandersnatch, Ryutatsu appearing above the largest of the cheetahs with a downward, spin, draw strike with his sword that had been charged with lightning, and Zuruel ambushing another pride of lions with the same fire hydra technique. The blow from Ryutatsu had severed the cheetah's head clean off, while flames of dragons heads burst forth to incinerate the lions.  A cheetah clawed at Ryutatsu's back, but appeared to do minimal damage. The second of the surviving cheetahs had tried to pounce upon him and ended up skewered on his sword but the sheer weight of the great cat's body was enough to drag Ryutatsu to the ground where his leg would get mauled by the last cheetah's teeth. His armor was the only thing keeping him from getting torn up.

    With a mighty heave Ryutatsu shoved the dead cheetah off him and using his other hand drew and threw several Kunai into the cheetah's pelt, it was enough to drive it off him and for it to snarl in pain. With unsteady arms he dragged himself into a wobbly standing position as he sent his sword flying at the snarling feline that was biting at the kunai stuck into it's side and leg, skewering the last cat through its skull.

    Meanwhile, Zuriel's spectacular fire hydra would split heads as nimble lions tried to evade and trap them in fire where they would be consumed by the chakra fueled flames. There was no escape for any of the lions, only an inevitable death. This was the second time Inoryu has seen the technique.

    With a huff, Ryutatsu fell back onto his behind exhausted. With weakened arms and a bleeding leg, he crawled to his sword and took it out of the corpse. As soon as it's cool handle was in his grip he immediately looked at ease, though it was easy to tell that he had reached his limit and could go no further in the competition.

    "That was one hell of a showing by Ryutatsu, wouldn't you say?" Amashi asked. Hikaru and Inoryu both agreed as they stared at the screen, eager for the outcome of the duel between Shiki Senri and the bandersnatch.

    The duel between the bandersnatch and Shiki Senri seemed to be reaching its climax. Shiki Senri threw shuriken at the bandersnatch's collarbones, and Inoryu was able to discern an assassination wire between them. The bandersnatch charged and struck out with its tail, but Shiki was able to avoid the blow by somehow using his shield as a magnetic springboard. Then he darted around to the creature's back and his right fist started to glow with purple energy.

    Then he would unleash an onslaught of taijutsu, starting with a a strike to the lower base of its spine. He threw a three layered strike, from a taijutsu style Inoryu was unfamiliar with, but he can see that the sheer impact of the blows were unbelievable, even as he watched them unfold.  Still within touching distance of the creature, Shiki summoned lightning chakra to his hand. He appeared suddenly right over the creature's chest and came down with a plunging strike directly into the creature's heart with his lightning hand.

    The bandersnatch's spine was crushed and it let out a muffled roar as its mouth was still held shut by Shiki's prior technique. The creature was confused and enraged. It didn't understand what was happening, or how something so small proved to be a threat to it. The protective quills did very little to provide resistance against the force that the hunter was exuding. It let out one final roar as it's head fell over limp onto the ground, and it's eyes glazed over. As the beast fell over dead, an announcement sounded over the area. It was the voice of Salihn Dara,

"THE GRAND BEAST HAS BEEN SLAIN. THIS CONCLUDES THE GREAT HUNT. ALL PARTICIPANTS RETURN TO THE FESTIVAL, AWARDS AND PRIZES WILL BE HANDED OUT DURING THE GRAND FEAST. THANK YOU FOR YOUR PARTICIPATION."

    The program ended and Hikaru's laptop went on stand by, "Pretty interesting, huh?" Hikaru asked.
    Inoryu nodded and Amashi replied, "Sure the hell was," as he turned and ordered a drink.
    The genin had a lot going through his mind now, ruminating over the sheer display of the ninja that participated in the event. He was silent for a brief moment as Hikaru and Amashi returned to their lively conversation when he noticed the time.
    "Oh crap, I gotta get home. Thank you Hikaru for showing me that, I feel I have really gained a lot by watching it. It was nice to meet you both, but I really gotta go."
    "No problem man," Hikaru replied.
    "Hey good luck out there," Amashi said.
    Inoryu shook their hands again and exchanged more pleasantries before starting his way home.
