Tiny Hut
Rank: "C"
Skill: NinJutsu
Effect: User creates an opaque sphere of force capable of protecting multiple targets from outside damage.
Special: ---
Drawback: ---
Description: The user is able to perform this technique at a distance of 5 meters. Duration of the Jutsu is 10 hours per Class Level. User creates an unmoving, opaque sphere of force themselves. Half the sphere projects above the ground, and the lower hemisphere passes through the ground. As many as 9 other Medium creatures can fit into the field with the user; they can freely pass into and out of the hut without harming it. However, if the user removes themselves from the hut, the Jutsu ends. The temperature inside the hut is 70° F if the exterior temperature is between 0° and 100° F. An exterior temperature below 0° or above 100° lowers or raises the interior temperature on a 1-degree-for-1 basis (thus, if it's -20° outside, inside the hut it's 50°). The hut also provides protection against the elements, such as rain, dust, and sandstorms. The hut withstands any wind of less than hurricane force, but a hurricane (75+ mph wind speed) or greater force destroys it. The interior of the hut is a hemisphere. Although the force field is opaque from the outside, it is transparent from within. Missiles, weapons, and most Jutsu effects can pass through the hut without affecting it, although the occupants cannot be seen from outside the hut (they have total concealment).
Limit: Must be a Shape Transformation Specialist. Must know Force Tent.
Yuki no Kuni can be quite cold come winter time. If I had to wager, I'd imagine the temperature was 11 or so degrees Fahrenheit below 0. However, my thick cloak was warm and kept the bulk of the blowing snow out of my face. It was a few days walk along the road to the sea, but I could trudge it. I snacked meekly on the small store of cheese I'd brought to maintain myself. The sun rose behind my back, bringing some mild warmth, but eventually passed me, and began to set before me. Seeing the dangers of exhaustion and walking at night in a snow storm, I cast a spell Force Hut and curled up in my cloak, enjoying the relative warmth and safety of the shelter.
The next day, I set out again at dawn. The walk was laborious, and I was growing tired, but fortune had me well in hand. A small convoy - no doubt heading back from a successful trip of selling cured meats to the village of Yukigakure, offered me a ride in their wagon. They knew well this; bandits generally don't attack ninja.
Thanks to their aid, I made it within 3 more days to the shore. I let them sleep at night in my Force Huts, and they told me stories about the harsh countryside. It was a peaceful existence, albeit one of minimal mentally engaging activity. Having reached the coast in a timely manner, I began to seek passage across the sea.
It took but a few hours of speaking to merchants and captains to find a promising vessel. The captain was a young man, no older than me, and uncertain in his fortunes. Despite owning the vessel he piloted, he dressed as any common sailor. I began to speak with him, and ask him of his journey.
"We've got a bit of a triangular trade scheme going. We buy food down in the Land of Tea, carry it up to Nix during winter, trade it for what wealth we can, but mostly for pelts. We then take the pelts to the Land of Frost, where we can buy precious gems and metals in high demand in the Land of Tea."
"Ever encounter pirates?" I asked, solemnly.
"Not yet, although I fear I will."
"For passage to Frost, you will have my protection across the Tydeus sea."
"And what is your protection?"
"That of a ninja of the Snow Village, and that of an experienced practitioner of the Chakra arts."
"Well, you don't look like you'll take up two much space. Welcome aboard."
I spoke to almost nobody during my voyage. The seas have never been my friend, really. I'm prone to the nausea and vertigo sailors ascribe to 'land-lubbers.' So I sat and wallowed, and let the crew be responsible for taking me to a new land, a new place. Perhaps Frost wasn't all that different from Snow? Regardless - it mattered little. Frost was not my final destination. There were many miles left to walk.
Travel to Land of Frost.
