Personality
An arrogant, saucy sort of teen, Cybrus enjoys giving voice to his thoughts more often than people would like to hear. He can be serious but prefers often not to be as he considers it an unsavory side of him. Despite his unorthodox way of life, living as a mercenary not completely vested in others' interests, it seems to come even more alive in his general attitude. It is worth noting that being cut from the same ilk does not afford other clansfolk his camaraderie necessarily. He is ambitious and strives to succeed as most would, but isn’t shy or humble in his approach. His usual demeanor has him taking what he wants, not always brash of manner as one would think. There are times when he shows himself to be a calculating mind despite his apparent recklessness.
Despite his fatherless upbringing, the boy has little in the way of daddy issues. Maybe deeply seated inside is that yearning for validation and a father figure, but he would never admit it. Cybrus looks out for Cybrus, and the psychological craving is a vulnerability he would rather suppress permanently, then give it the recognition or light of day it perhaps deserved. He does have a bone (it's funny because they're both Kaguya) to pick with his father, but it certainly is not in hopes of acquiring that hug he has fantasized about for much of his upbringing, no - it was for a much darker purpose. Dependent on his mood, there are days where he wishes to neuter his father, or simply kill him for leaving his mother high and dry like that, to take care of his bastard son.
Ultimately though, as the months ticked onward - he realized that he was much like his father. He left her too eventually, and while that stung him pretty hard upon awareness of such a thing, Cybrus had a mission to do. He was not traveling the world in hopes of satisfying that wanderlust, no. The Kaguya was making a living, and what a living it was. Some weeks he would sleep in a cold tent, and others in the desolate alleyways of a city. But each month, the teen would make good on his promise to his mother, never forgetting to take care of her. He buys little in the way of commodities, preferring a more aesthetic lifestyle so that he can send much of his earning back to his hometown where his mother lives by her lonesome. It was not meant to be a substitute for her absent son, but perhaps some solace in knowing that he was doing well, and that he would provide as much as he could for her. The real worry would come when those monthly deliveries stopped coming in. Would he have forgotten about her, or would he simply perish?
A child who cares deeply for his mother, loathes his father. It was quite the contrast. He was no momma's boy any means, but instead tried to be the father figure so absent in his life. With no image to dwell upon other than those of his town's other grown ups, Cybrus only was able to see the best parts - never the behind closed door versions. The courageous, macho, chestpuffery types, but not the loving, child-doting variety. Neither did he see the abusive, drunken types - though he did not believe patriarchal figures were infallible by any stretch of the imagination. But surely, let's not spend another paragraph on this almost Freudian analysis of the poor, bastard Kaguya. No, instead let's turn to his shortcomings, his pitfalls. There were many, after all.
Authority figures, he hated them. With a chaotic neutral alignment, it wasn't hard to assume that this fellow was wild n' out. He tried not to cause too much trouble for his mother, but where he saw an opportunity he took it. Even more so now with the handyman's lifestyle! Although unusually stoic, he can also get pretty up in arms over being cheated, or even thinking he was getting cheated. Although Cybrus didn't gamble, there were times where shady charlatans on street corners solicited him a few coins for some games of dice. Even if he couldn't detect those cheap tricks often employed, it wouldn't stop him from shooting a bone spike out when he believed their luck was too good to be true. So, summing that portion up - he hates to lose on any level.
Cybrus is a moderately sized Kaguya with an athletic build, appearing rather youthful while maintaining an arguably rugged physique.
The male’s crown is decorated by a mane of stark white unkempt strands, the long lengths of hair falling just shy of his neck and shoulders. A neat and orderly stubble wraps around his jawline. A mild, but declarative nose sits proudly upon his face, usually complemented by a nonchalant expression. His face was pristine and unmarked, a balance that wasn’t overly macho nor pretty. Those sky blue eyes were something too, underneath those naturally tailored brows that emphasized any expression he dared to make.
His frame is of a pale complexion, neither tan nor dark in shade. He stands at around average height for his kind, lean and athletic throughout. It would seem as if he were more suited for agility rather than raw strength, much akin to his brethren. Upon his torso are numerous scars, made by either blade or jutsu. The sheer number of these marks and wounds would illustrate that this Kaguya was no stranger to battle. No part of his torso would be free of scarred flesh, both front and back marred with the signs of constant struggle and survival.
As his natural athleticism would boast, beyond his torso were two powerful limbs of exceptional build. Much of his lower body strength was formed from both training and skirmishes. Many would have you think much of a swordsman’s strength started from the chest and arms, but a proper fighter knew not to neglect their hips and legs when they swung, blocked, or parried. Training with his brethren and having countless bouts in Wind Country has taught Cybrus to be both nimble and fortified. This degree of fitness translates to some decent musculature around his thighs, and by result - a taut backside as well.
One’s taste and choice in clothing defines them as a person. This holds true for Cybrus, as he takes great pride in the maintenance and upkeep of his ‘brand.’ A snug cyan and navy jumpsuit clings to this man’s figure, comfortable and custom fitted to the Kaguya. Pockets, both for practical application, and others simply built in more for style points, sit upon it. It was a jumpsuit that he picked up along the way and began to tailor more to his liking. Some things to add onto it, would perhaps be a filtration system for those long travels, catchpockets for rainwater, sweat, and the like, and maybe a breathing mask for sandstorms. Technology was full of innovations, and Cybrus would be damned if he couldn't live out his Dune fantasy of wearing a fully functioning stillsuit. It was just a good idea.
The one weakness to that jumpsuit right now was the fact that he was a Kaguya. He carried around patch-ups, to seal the tears he tended to make. Innovation wouldn't stop at the formerly mentioned things, but perhaps he could get an expert to assist him in allowing his bone to pass through the suit and have it act as a porous layer for him to shoot it through. Oddly enough, at this time he finds himself more often stripping before a fight to preserve the garments he wears - and it being a jumpsuit, it's quite a feat for him to throw off that elastic piece of gear in record time before his adversary could muster an attack. But hey, he tries to make utilizing his Kaguya bloodline more of a last resort than anything else, so it's not -too- much of an oversight.
Background
Hailing from Wind Country, Cybrus is no stranger to hardships or struggle. He did not grow up within the confines and security of the Sand Village. Instead, he was brought up into being by a nomadic tribe of outcasts. In many societies, these outcasts were referred to as terms such as vagabonds, vagrants, gypsies, and of similar words. They were a roaming band of traders and entertainers with all kinds of talents. Taking their show on the road, across country lines and the like was a common occurrence - accepting all those who they could add to their venue and attractions. They grew in size and heart, as a family.
Where does Cybrus come into being? Well, near twenty years ago a Kaguya joined the small inclusive society. Being able to pull sharp objects from one’s body was seen as a spectacular attraction, and he knew well how to call upon such a unique ability. He would juggle them, allow for people to hit him as hard as they could, and so on. There is no part in this story where tragedy occurs, fortunately or unfortunately. Rather, Cybrus was born due to the fact that this particular Kaguya had a thing for women. He was a womanizing sleazeball who would promise beautiful townswomen the sea and the stars, laying with them at night and disappearing by day with his circus of misfits - leaving behind bastard children in his wake consequently.
Cybrus was one such case, watched over by a mother who was somewhat of an outcast within her small town. She cared for him as would any, but the town always viewed her as a harlot, and him a product of her lust. It wasn’t all bad though. Raising a single-parent child was a communal responsibility, and there were individuals with good hearts helping where his mother could not. His father figure was absent, but the substitution of one was present in those who lended their time in watching after him while she was at work or afflicted with sickness. He helped with menial labor growing up, but feeling like more of a curse than any blessing in disguise, Cybrus decided to set out in search of meaning in his life. Perhaps he could help his mother’s situation by striking it rich, or find his father and tell him how much of a deadbeat he was - only time would tell!
Growing up outside of the realm of ninja, he was not afforded any way to learn. He did not have a network, nor breadth of knowledge. Admittedly, a lot of his ninjutsu and bloodline is self-taught - but by no means does this give him any pride. Truth be told, he hates much of the prior and only has learned it to better understand his prey. Often, Cybrus finds himself needing to overpower those more elusive with their ninja arts with the use of taijutsu. Despite his apparent blood lust for physically bludgeoning his opponents, he has not gained the reputation of a murderer or killer for hire. Often he beats those he is tasked with reining in to a pulp, but seldom has he ever killed - not that he would show much remorse over such an act.
As of late, the Kaguya has learned to utilize the bow. He first started with a slingshot growing up, being rather precise with it on unaware targets. Whether it is hunting animals or bounties, the bow is often a quiet instrument he will use from fifty or so meters away to guarantee an initiating strike. It's often amusing, as many will try to move in, believing him to be weak to a melee strike, but the fact that he is a Kaguya and can literally turn his body into a weapon, and that he is far more confident in his taijutsu - is usually his adversary's downfall. Currently, the Kaguya can be found within the Land of Wind operating in principalities around the nation - but he might take his bounty hunting worldwide soon. Only time would tell!
