Waru was ecstatic that she had permission to touch her face. The simple idea of feeding her curiosity brought a smile upon her face. However, her jubilation was cut short when Valerys began reading the journal out loud. With smooth strides, she headed towards the wall carefully listening to Valerys. The contents of the journal made her skin crawl forcing her to react instinctively by quickly clasping her hand around her forearm as she felt the needles pierce her body once again.Waru glanced over to Valerys who had finished reading the passage of the book in which she now offered her the journal. She meekly smiled waving her hand in response decline in partaking in the book. She wanted nothing to do with that insidious thing. She already was imagining all those poor children being experiment once again. As she was bound in darkness with no means to escape as droves of children were ushered to their death.
She walking adjacent of Valerys closer to the pillars as she continued to glance over examining the walls of runes. As they walk she tried to decipher some of the wording but was having a bit of trouble understanding some of the dialects again. Her attention was called to Valerys now who was asking questions about her and her powers. She paused for a moment trying to hold the knowledge she absorbed in place as she directed her focus towards her. She paused for a moment thinking about the question and finally respond with a gentle sigh, ""Honestly, there is nothing special about me. I’m just a foolish girl with dreams of becoming a famous actress or pop star. Hopefully, both since it will really piss off my old man to no extent." A wild grin of satisfaction crept across her face as she chuckled softly. Her father had always forbid her to pursue such idiotic dreams as her fate was predetermined long ago. Still, she actively defied him breaking loose and becoming a wild thorn in his side and in his plans. ”As for those power. I’ve always been able to do that kind of stuff since I was a little girl. Pop-pop use to tell me stories of my late grandmother and how she was part of a wild tribe in the frozen tundra in Yuki. He used to say the people of the tribe were so entuned with the land that the goddess Khione blessed them with the heighten understanding of manipulating ice and snow. And amongst the tribe were the true born who are kissed by the divine lady granting them clairvoyance and understanding with ice and snow. Those people were easily identified by their white color hair. Of course, those are just stories my pop-pop use to tell me as a kid to make me feel better when I was down. So I don’t know how much merit they actually hold. However, it would explain the strange fondness I have towards the cold. Yet again my pop-pop was a silly old man who would say anything to bring a smile to your face." She extended her arms out to her sides to help her keep balance as she began to play hopscotch over the corpses that laid in her way. She took a brief moment of silence to remember her grandfather and the last thing he ever told her. After reflecting upon her past she decided to cheer her spirits up by answer Vaarleys question in a bit of a whimsical tone.
”I hail for no land.
I bow to man.
My strength is my own.
My code is unknown.
I’m silly and cute.
I’m little Waru.
But, you already know.
So how about some snow?"
She hummed a merry tone as she childishly skipped over the corpses now. The pseudodragon hovered overhead swinging back and forth in the air dancing alongside his master. Subconsciously she returned her focused back to the scripts on the wall. Trying to decipher the text by recalling the runes in her eidetic memory as she occupied her physical body with childish antics.
Into the Maw
The drove of spiders continued to work diligently through the chamber removing all sources of food and incubators from the area. The spiders took their resources down another tunnel leading further into the underground catacombs. The manner how the spiders were reacting could be viewed as odd. They were only taking necessary supplies with them while allowing the Queen Krawler to fest on large quantities of food. Quickly the drove of spiders marched back and forth picking up what they needed till finally the Queen Krawler herself began to move out. As the Queen finally started moving one would notice a large scar running along down her backside. The size of the scar was quite deep and wide giving a hint on the severity of the wound when she received it. While the Queen began making her way into the further tunnels the large general rubbished around the scanning for any potential dangers to his Queen. The large arachnid even smacked the smaller males away from his path as he rushed back and forth securing the area. The spiders were clearly on high alert.
