The Rolling Pebble [Invite|Private|RP]
Setting:
In the Land of Earth, off of a humble mountain round and deep into the country side, is an alien outcropping of rocks which jut vertically into the sky. They seem to have strange, black, natural markings on their sides and appear to fallen up against one another to create a large conglomeration of jagged stones. A small opening in between two of the biggest stones reveals a cave that leads down for about a mile. Deep within the cave are old stairways and halls that end in a chamber in the center of the rocks. Here is an ancient relic, carved with old symbols, that seems to radiate some sort of ancient knowledge...
IC:
The Land of Earth was proving to be more treacherous than Valerys had initially thought. The winds and the dry earth ate at her bones and spirit like mad dogs, making her wish that she hadn't ventured so far from home. But when Valerys thought of this, she looked to the sky and reminded herself why she had to leave -- it was not the same anymore. She was not the same. From somewhere a strange bird crowed (cackled?) and she almost fell down from exhaustion. Over the horizon, however, she could make out a jagged structure of rocks and rejuvenated herself enough to walk there. Today she had taken on a much different appearance from the ones she usually utilized. Altering her DNA, a trait famous from her bloodline, Valerys constructed blonde hair and red eyes, alonging with make herself into the body of a teenager. Right now she was sweating profusely, and rushed in when she discovered a cave hidden in the rocks.
After about a mile of walking, Valerys discovered a wide chamber with a pool of water and drank profusely. After getting her bearings, she noticed an ancient relic in the middle of the chamber. Although she touched it, nothing happened. She decided not to worry about it for now and sat down on the rocks to rest. It had been years since she had come to the Land of Earth, carrying her polearm and a butt bag with 50 senbon, an LED flashlight, and a spring razor. And her headband which was wrapped neatly away in her bag so that no one could see it. Who am I now? Valerys would often ask herself. The answer never seemed to be answered, no matter how many caves, or relics, or mountains she found.
As Valerys settled into her new home and looked over the structure that she had chosen, she wondered if she would ever meet someone who could answer her questions and give her hope. This world was so dry and desolate, to see any other member alive would bring her joy. She set down her bags and let herself doze off for a while by the pool, and dreamt of going home again. But, as she had told herself so many times before, this was just a dream.
