Biography
Personality:
Shogetsu is a calm and extremely good-natured boy. He didnt grow up with any friends so he is a bit stiff around other ninja. However, shogetsu loves people and meeting them. But him having a lack of real social skills often lead to him awkwardly attempting to show off to his fellow ninja with his athletical and musical prowess, or with the comically large quarterstaff in comparison to his size. Shogetsu has a passion for listening and playing music, and can spend hours at a time simply practicing with his flute.
Shogetsu grew up in a small temple in the mountains, were he was trained in taijutsu as a warrior monk. He has a very strong bond with his teachers and mentor and visits them regulary. He sometimes dabbles in earth ninjutsu, but lacks any real training and uses it mostly as a distraction or defense. The oversized staff he carries on his back is mostly for show, though he does wish to one day actually learn how to properly use the thing instead of awkwardly carrying it around.
In combat Shogetsu can easily lose his calm demeanor when he or those close to him get threatened, causing him to do things without thinking that he will regret seconds later, ultimately leading to his downfall. Shogetsu is very selfless and will always put others before himself.
When it comes to food Shogetsu loves mushrooms for no apparent reason. He also loves meat, as he would rarely get to eat any at his temple.
Appearance:
Shogetsu has a oval-shaped face with large, almond-shaped yellow eyes. His chin is almost non-existent. He has a small, up-turned nose and thin lips. His ears are above-average in size and are very clearly visible because of his shaved, bald head. He always has a big smile on his face and a lively spark in his eyes, his face is covered in tiny freckles, and he has a tanned skin colour from his hours training in the sun.
He has a small stature for his age but has quite a bit of muscle, his body is still mostly that of a childs, with a large head, hands and feet. He has build up quite a bit of muscle from his intense training.
In summer and spring, Shogetsu is clad in a greyish-blue robe that covers his entire upper body but the right side of his torso and right arm, he has a prayer bead necklace that he wears with great pride, as it was a departure gift from his mentor. His puffy pants are tied down with bandages around his lower legs, and held up by a rope around his waist. He is wearing practical sandals. He also has a iron bracelet on his right arm. He always carries around his flute, a gift from his mentor.
In winter and fall however, or in other cold circumstances he trades in this clothing for a warmer robe that instead covers his entire upper torso, and trades in his sandals for warmer boots that cover the bandages around his pants.
The silver gauntlets he uses for combat are tied to the rope around his waist, and he carries his comically oversized bo staff on his back. He carries a pouch of marbles he uses for various reasons.
Background:
Shogetsu was taken in as a orphan to a small temple of warrior monks, and trained in taijutsu from a very young age. He didnt grow up with any other kids at the temple. But he has a very strong bond with his various teachers. His mentor, a wise monk and by extension, his father figure taught him to play the flute. His life at the temple was rough, he trained for the majority of every day. Shogetsu was originally supposed to stay at the temple to become a master. But he was more interested in joining the Hidden stone village because of stories he heard from travellers and ninja taking shelter at the temple. He idolized the symbol of a noble ninja and wanted nothing more then to become one. After convincing his teachers he was allowed to leave the temple, his master gave him a neckless of wooden prayer beads as a departure gift. Shogetsu joined and arrived at the academy when he was 8
At the academy he started training fanatically. Taking up almost every hour of his day perfecting his taijutsu and training his inexperienced ninjutsu abilites before going to bed, exhausted every day. Due to his older age he was a bit of a outcast at the academy and didnt talk much. He succesfully graduated the academy at the age of 11.
