Curiosity killed the cat. Shoko never deemed himself to be a curious person but since he became a genin, he found his antics getting more and more ambitious. Not that it was exactly a bad thing. Recent revelations made the lad see things in a new light, and while his introverted personality, constantly unwelcoming and disdainful, would never change, the sunagakure shinobi had a different outlook towards life then he previously had.
Though still devoid of any real passion or ambition, Shoko's mindset of completely obeying the authority of his village, serving it without question and carrying out its orders with extreme prejudice remained. Though that didn't mean he would pass up the opportunity to use his newfound privileges to pursue believable myths and strange occurrences around the continent.
Which was why he stood, in the excessive heat of a sunday morning somewhere the borders of Kaze no Kuni, studying a map. His destination was the Land of Earth, where he sought not only further knowledge of the popular rumour that had been spread there but more experience of the outside world. Taking a swig of his canteen, Shoko double-checked that he had all of his equipment with him and in good shape before he decided to set off for Tsuchi no Kuni.
