(Part 2 of 2)
[The Revalation]
It was pathetic to be pushed this far down the rabbit hole, but the need for pity had finally ceased. Kahimi's grimdark outlook on moral codes and the world had more or less taken its darkest turn. However, all of that was unnecessary and over-dramatic. And so now she came to a simple conclusion. Her one true original feeling about the world. She refused to care about it anymore.
Sympathy & pity never had a place within these borders. People can pretend as if it helps, but it never truly has. Not in any way beyond the small individual and inherently selfish ideals. This part of the world, never grew that way. And it never will.
Those first three words Juniper spoke in questioning response, resonated with her deeply. That is exactly how she felt. She always wanted to lie to herself about it. But it's true, and it always has been reciprocated that way from the outside in many ways. That along with the overloading pity she has received, but never originally asked for. She allowed herself to get soft. So much so, that she foolishly allowed herself to become comfortable and happy by it. It is disgusting to her to only just now realize that. Only herself, and a few others matter. That's the bottom line.
While Juniper spoke, she was having a revelation about herself, and the small country she has power in. Remembering the promises, and desires she had since forgotten about in the worst of ways. And now she was rightfully getting stabbed in the heart for it. The pain could kill her if she let it. But Kahimi would rather be stabbed for three days straight, than just keel over and die. That last quote was the final straw to complete the shattering of the fake world she has been living in. Juniper just wouldn't realize it yet.
[The Choice]
Kahimi winced from the grip on her injured arm, as well as the hard contact that was made as their foreheads collided. Mixed in with the uncomfortably close proximity, and Juniper had her full attention. It wouldn't be fought, as she silently watched Juniper, & listened to her words. Her mismatched eyes didn't waver for a single second.
Not even when Juniper had sunken down to just put her pain away did she turn her attention elsewhere. The heavy forceful rhythm of her heartbeat thumped within her chest from all the pent-up frustration and hurt emotions building up. However slowly, Kahimi would take her left hand and begin to very gently comb her fingers through Juniper's beautiful white hair. Not with pity. Only as a sign that she understood and greed. She wished to apologize for failing to keep her promises, but those were words she had already used already. All that is left is action.
The hurt, but loving Yukikage once did everything her power to be there for Juniper until E-day. She messed up far beyond comprehension allowing herself to fall so low. However Kahimi knew better, and she wasn't going to allow herself to stop now. So she would keep attempting to lovingly comfort her daughter. Even after all the things that happened. Even if she made a fuss about it. She didn't care. She WANTED to. She always has...
Truth of the matter is, even with her broken sentences Juniper woke Kahimi up from her fear and hubris. She never needed validation, and Kahimi knew that the first day they met. So to suddenly...forget that was a mistake she never wished to make. She scowled, just from thinking about how far she let these weak people corrupt her resolve. How much she let them make her think differently. They don't know anything about survival...Anything about fighting to matter in a pointless world. To just live and be free. She'll have to teach them the hard way...
They will learn to fear the new monster they just now released on to themselves. And the first on the hit list is someone who has been pushing the two of them into that corner since the beginning. Coming to that conclusion, Kahimi would wipe any tears that managed to stain her face, and would hold Juniper tightly before speaking finally.
"Starting from today. The world belongs to us again. Freedom above all else. I have a lot to make up for, but I will do everything I can until I'm dead and gone. Nobody will take our freedom ever again. We will live our best lives. And live them together. That promise still stands Juniper. You can't tell me otherwise." she'd say calmly. The old loving, but blatantly blunt tone now returning to her voice. She was dead serious.
