Despite this reputation, for some reason or another, the blood of the demons can be found among the humans. Powers that helped to grant demons their reputation can be found within the famous horns. The user is born with one or more horns coming out of their head. Each horn must be at least five centimeters long. These horns can be activated at will. When activated, any and all horns will glow bright enough to illuminate the area around the user. Activated horns will shed bright light in a 15-meter radius and dim light in a 15-meter radius beyond that. The color of the light can be different for each character. Horns cannot be deactivated on the same turn they are activated, nor can they be activated on the same turn they are deactivated. While a horn is activated and glowing, the user's GenJutsu gains a +2 bonus in difficulty against others, and the user also gains +20 bonus in attack damage. If the horn is struck by at least 20 armour points of damage, it will break. Broken horns can no longer be activated. User may perform a Light Jutsu which causes an object to glow like a torch, shedding bright light in a 15-meter radius (and dim light for an additional 15-meters from the point the user touches. The effect is immobile, but it can be performed on a movable object. The duration of the Jutsu is 50 minutes per Class Level. Light taken into an area of chakra created darkness does not function. Limit: Must start with Character; replaces 1 Freebies. Personalies Elric Wulfkind On the surface, Elric doesn't come off as anything special. Initial conversations with him will most likely be short, uninformative, and he often comes off as rude with his curtness. He's a little anti-social in that he detests large groups and being surrounded by people, but not to the point where he's actively avoiding them; he's much more at home with a one-on-one conversation, or with a small group of two or three, and hardly much more. Under the hood, he's a good-hearted person. He thrives off of the good will and vibrations of the people around him, though they are often few. He's honest as well, and often wears his heart on his sleeve, completely unafraid to speak his mind be it positive or negative. Because of this he's often chastised as being a little inconsiderate, and although that couldn't be further from the truth, it still remains to be one of the largest hurdles to him making actual friends. He rushes to the point of most conversations and tends not to beat around the bush, and his directness is often off-putting. Ultimately he finds social interactions in their more conventional incarnations awkward, unnecessarily restrictive, and almost alien. He's sympathetic nearly to a fault, and is often easily manipulated by his desire to do right by people and as a result, he constantly finds himself in scenarios he is woefully unprepared for. He is naive as well, and assumes most people are inherently good, and are as willing to help him as he is them. Somehow, even over time, this has not made him hesitant of interaction with people, even if he harbors a strong, but secret desire for retribution against those who wrong him, and for a more aggressive stance in his nature. He is ashamed, though he wouldn't be likely to admit it, of his inability to be that kind of an extrovert, but takes a solace in the peace of soul it brings him to be calm, and to pull himself away. If one could pressed him on his interests however, he'll tell you he loves the more scientific and research based side of chakra, rather than the brute force more commonly utilized. Rituals, Seals, even Necromancy fuel his dreams and a desire for both knowledge and exploration. Seals in particular, and the general inclusiveness of them, had been one of the biggest draws to actually delving deeper into the chakra arts, as his love of the arts, dance, and music would have far outstripped his love for the Shinobi arts if not for the curious Rituals of old and the vast mysteries behind them and their use. He may be more on the quiet side of things, and be a little reclusive, but he's passionate about all of his interests, and puts great pride and care into all of his work. Unfortunately, that pride doesn't extend to his own appearance, or pretty much anything that isn't of interest to him; he can't see himself, so why bother? Elric is a boy who wants to become his own man, but is unsure about what path to take. He's troubled by indecision and feelings of inadequacy, and has taken on deep rooted confidence issues that manifests as an inability to be an effective leader, speaker, and combatant. He may be more on the quiet side of things, and be a little reclusive, but he's passionate about all of his interests, and puts great pride and care into all of his work. Svayam Ishvara One would think a mass of ancient chakra, the energy of life itself, bound in an even more ancient weapon could not have a mind of it's own, and one would be right; that doesn't mean, however, it doesn't have a will. The desire that came with the binding of chakra brought some of the essence of the being that gave it, and once it found it's way into young Elric's arm, it took root in his chakra system, and his mind. The process was painful for the young vessel, and in that excruciating agony, a mind was born anew. Svayam Ishvara is a representation of everything Elric wants to be, and manifests as both all that he is, and more that he isn't. Svayam isn't particularly more skilled in any given field than Elric is, he simply has the confidence and motivation to use his abilities. He has a tendency to be bossy and forceful, often simply expecting people to listen and follow him and his ideas without questions. He can be egotistical and arrogant in his areas of talent, and quickly becomes aggressive to others who are under the impression that they may know more than him about his chosen fields. Svayam hates being wrong, and loathes failure to the point of violent outbursts. Svayam often takes up the more aggressive practices an applications of Elric's skill sets, and usually goes for the more direct, and often more reckless approach. Combined with his tendency to fly off the handle, he put's Elric's healing techniques to surprisingly efficient and deadly use. Unfortunately he often lets his arrogance get the better of him, and drops his guard and makes more assumptions than he should. He truly believes that he is the remnant energies and inheritor of some sort of powerful and ancient dynasty, and tends to act as such, and that there may somehow truly be some sort of destiny at the end of all this for him. He may be a representation of what Elric wants to be, or maybe he's a representation of something he actually isn't, but either way Svayam deeply resents his position as the second in the scenario. He resents the ideas of helping others and, while willing, isn't the type to actively seek out and heal people in need like Elric would. He's less likely to be altruistic and benevolent and far less likely to step into problems that aren't his own. He's self serving, and shamelessly rude, and in an odd way it's almost all to spite his other self. Svayam's clearly a believer in tough love, and being self sufficient, and as a result he harbors a lot of open resentment for Elric's meekness, and has no trouble berating him for cowardly decisions and chastising him for how introverted he is. He wants Elric to be a more aggressive person, more like himself, and more ruthless in achieving his desires.   Elric was born in the coldest country in the world, and that meant day to day survival could become extremely difficult, especially living outside the limits of a city. His mother, once a ninja, told him she retired with her new-born son to one of the northern most tips of the country to be away from the troubles of the mainland, and build a new life here in the home that she had once grew up, with the people she had grown up with; the Inuzuka. It's here in relative seclusion that he grew up too and learned about herbs, potions and medicine just as she did. He was learning to hunt, to track, and to use weapons in one of the harshest environments in the world, and was taught to love every bit of it. His mother taught him to love the feel of the hunt, to enjoy the satisfaction that came after finding his target and taking it down. He was trained, for all intensive purposes, like a ninja, without actually being one. She taught him to read, to write, and even think in her mothers tongue, Sylvan, just as was tradition in their family for generations; Inuzuka may have been nomadic in nature, but they always put family above everything.
  
  Unfortunately while he might have what he was learning at first, seeing other kids having fun with their dog and wolf companions while he was practicing hand-signs and Seal theory was quietly traumatic for the growing child. He grew up unhappy, bitter, and with a loathing for his parents. His tribe had been a bit different than most Inuzuka tribes, and his companion had to be earned. His coming of age test, he failed and that left him as an outsider to the clan. On the surface, he was your average smiling kid who had his share of hobbies and too much energy to sit still and learn what you're trying to teach them, but in truth he was deeply upset with being an outcast; he constantly felt like he could, and should, be doing more with his life, but he was never sure what. He'd often go off to read a book on forbidden jutsu, burying his guilt and personal insecurities and instead choosing to double down on his teachings and not abandon them because of what he could consider "childish entitlement".
  
  Feeling ostracized wasn't new, of course. He had always garnered the occasional suspicious sideways glances from the others in his clan, and gawks and obvious fear from those in Yozamu when he visited there. He never truly understood why. It, obviously, was the horn that protruded from his forhead, just above his right eyebrow. However, the horn wasn't particularly large and it had hardly any use other than making combing his hair annoying. After failing to retrieve a companion, however, the smug looks that came down from his peers were far harder to bear than the fright from the villagers.
  
  His mother tried to instill in him a love for the ninja world. She did her best to make the history, the action, and the romance of it all feel as special and amazing to him as it did to her, and any time she told him a story or taught him a lesson it was as if she could taste the tang of clashing steel in the air. There was tried and tested wisdom in her words. She was always so charismatic and inspiring, and deep down he resented that in her, as well as the lack of it in himself. Which ever was the truth, her influence was profound, and possibly resulted in the eventual formation of Elric's alter ego, Svayam. Her lessons never took for him because they never really interested him, and the pushing for him to be this ninja-esque person, and to be part of a clan that denied him the mark of an adult felt ? He learnt them well enough, but he wasn't the one absorbing them, and sometimes he wasn't the one even going to the classes.
  
  He excelled in his classes thanks to the tutelage of his mother and his own exceptional mind. As the years went on, however, and after his second failure to achieve a companion, classes became less interesting for him and he found himself constantly distracted by everything else around him and the nagging feeling that he was being personally slighted by the clan. The growing feeling that he should be somewhere else was reaching the point of overwhelming his being; he'd stand apart from his class, unable to muster the will to enter into their conversations, and he'd lose himself completely in disconnected thoughts and images of other places when he did manage to attend. He often searched around his house but had no idea what he was looking for, wandered the woods near his home without direction and often for lengthy periods of time. Whatever was happening, it wasn't obvious enough for his parents and friends to suspect anything amiss. Elric knew. He didn't know what yet, but he knew.
  
  Elric's attitude had always irritated his mother and it irritated her even more after she met Svayam. To say he strained their relationship was an understatement The boy had walked from to the kitchen in silence and stood in the doorway, staring up at her. She looked down at him, and a chill crept through her body. The young man spoke words in a language older than men, the language of the devils, and he spoke it without flaw.
  
  "You're not my son," she said as a fact and backed away from him to the sink behind her, reaching for a knife. His eyes followed her movements carefully like a cat. She pulled the knife from the water, and in that instant he was upon her, a flurry of tiny but surprisingly powerful fists. She swung the blade at him with practiced precision, but the boy moved out of the way in just the same style she would have in his position. Their battle was short, but it took them from the kitchen to the living room and finally to the cold front yard where she threw him into the snow. She breathed heavily at the top of the stairs and Elric's form lay crumpled at the bottom for only a few moments. It began to rise, and it looked up at her with angry eyes.
  
  This boy was a fighter. Svayam, he had named himself, took to his mother's teachings like a fish to water, and his strength, speed and skill were all superior to Elric's. But the coldness in her bones would not go away when he was around. Most times she put it to the glow that came from the core of the horn that sprouted from her son's head, but she knew deep down that it was something inate to this side of him. Something that made her uneasy. She couldn't keep the feeling away, and on his 17th birthday, she sent him, both of them, on a quest. To find strength and learn of the world on their own. A ninja village, like she had been trained and spent her later years, would be perfect. She didn't tell them where to go, just gave her love and sent them out into the world.

[Defiant]

Appearance Elric has mid-length hair, falling just past his ears and it's color is black as night. Often it's an unkempt mess due to his introverted nature; no one to see it, no reason to comb it. When he does go out it's usually just down and simple. It doesn't do much to help his face, which is average at best; a soft jawline and no particularly strong accents to the chin or cheekbones makes his face boyish and, while pleasant to look at, forgettable. It'd be nice to say his most noticeable feature is his eyes like one would for a normal person, but there an average brown with no special coloration to them whatsoever. No, his most noticeable facial features are definitely the two horns that sit on his forehead just under his hairline. The one above the left brow is quite small, only reaching about two inches in length and three quarters of an inch in diameter. The one on the right, however, is far larger. It circles from the front to the back, and has smaller protrusions, making it appear like half a crown of antlers. Both horns curved backwards, the right obviously more than the left, but they are still impossible to hide. They were a charcoal color and texture, and each looked almost as if they were dozens of smaller horns curled together to form a single one. The right horn had a small amount of space in between these patterns to reveal on very close inspections a solid, deep red inside to them. a brilliant fiery light can shine from between these spaces, but it rarely does under Elric's control. His skin is just as uninteresting as the rest of his appearance, and shows the same lack of care. His hands are covered in cuts, burns and callouses from mistakes, accidents and work as an apprentice alchemist. He's done his best to keep himself out of harms way, but he didn't do much for stopping the tiny scars he now has on his face from shattered vials and the burns on his forearms from back-blown potions. Just under the skin is hardly much better. He's fit, at best, but could definitely improve. Its clear he has muscle definition but he's yet to unlock the full potential of it. Elric's right arm is quite different from everything else about him, however. While the rest of his pale and covered in flesh, starting at the shoulder blade his arm is covered in what looks like tiny pitch black scales, interlocking like chainmail. This arm had more muscle definition than his left, and was without fingernails or fingerprints; the tips of each finger instead ending in a claw-like point. While hardly any more dangerous than his left arm, his right can transform. The plates lift ever so slightly and the whole thing begins to glow a similar glow to his horn. This too is a rare occurrence for Elric, and one that is seemingly out of his control. All in all, Elric Wulfchild is a pretty average looking kid. Not exactly handsome, and not exactly ugly, he sits in a pretty save zone of attraction that hardly makes him an idol for female attention. This leaves him mostly unremembered by most people he only casually meets/doesn't talk to. His face is soft and round, and generally free of the scars than can be found on the rest of his body. There are of course imperfections like dark marks left by puberty's kind hand, a couple tiny scars from falls when he was a child, but most of those are hardly noticeable without actually getting close, and the horn itself, while memorable if you see it glow, is hardly large enough to write home about, especially not in Yuki no Kuni. Just like his personality would imply,his wardrobe is very single note, and that note is black. Most of the clothes he wears is black, or grey, and often hooded as well if he feels a wave on anxiety about to hit and needs some way to quickly seclude himself. He once owned, before he was forcibly removed from his home, he used own a lot more clothes than he thought he ever wore; bright things and even some jewelry, little did he know it was Svayam who was wearing them all along; he's far more fashion forward than his counterpart. Trousers are an item of clothing worn from the waist to the ankles, covering both legs separately. Shorts are similar to trousers, but with legs that come down only to around the area of the knee, higher or lower depending on the style of the garment. To distinguish them from shorts, trousers may be called "long trousers" in certain contexts such as school uniform, where tailored shorts may be called "short trousers". Trousers have 4 Pockets, 2 on the front of each pant leg, and 2 at the back where the butt is located at. Each Pocket has the same amount of holding space as a half Pouch. A total of 4 Pouches can be stitched into the pants. 2 Pouches may be stitched at the top of the pants (1 per pant leg) while 2 may be stitched at the bottom (1 per pant leg). Footwear Footwear Rank: "C" Type: Main, Slot Holder, 0 Slots, Clothing Effect: Footwear can be worn on the feet of a person. Special: --- Drawback: --- Description: Outer coverings for the feet, such as shoes, boots, and sandals. Footwear refers to garments worn on the feet, which originally serves to purpose of protection against adversities of the environment, usually regarding ground textures and temperature. Footwear in the manner of shoes therefore primarily serves the purpose to ease the locomotion and prevent injuries. Secondly footwear can also be used for fashion and adornment as well as to indicate the status or rank of the person within a social structure. Socks and other hosiery are typically worn additionally between the feet and other footwear for further comfort and relief. Cultures have different customs regarding footwear. These include not using any in some situations, usually bearing a symbolic meaning. Footwear have no slots, but a Half Pouch can be applied along the inside of footwear. The spear tip is a broken circle that extends out into two vicious and jagged points, one being a full six inches longer than the other. The other end of the spear has a smaller point, though with an edge that looks no less rough. From point to point, the entire length of the spear is Five and a half feet. Polearm (Overview) Rank: "C" Type: Main, Piercing, Staff/Spear Effect: A close combat weapon in which the main fighting part of the weapon is fitted to the end of a long shaft. Special: --- Drawback: --- Description: A Two-Handed Weapon. These weapons do +10 Amour Points of Damage. A large weapon normally longer than 1.2 m (4 feet). These weapons are only suitable for melee combat and cannot be used for ranged combat. Examples of a Polearm: Nagamaki, Naginata, Quarterstaff, and Glaive. A knife has a blade that is about less than 1 foot in length. The user gains a +10 bonus on Sleight of Hand Skill to conceal a knife on their body. Flint - Right Jacket Pocket Flint (Overview) Rank: "C" Type: Secondary, 20 per Slot, Gadget, Survival, Tool Effect: A rock device created to use as a source for creating a spark. Special: --- Drawback: --- Description: Picture Flint is a hard, sedimentary cryptocrystalline form of the mineral quartz, categorized as a variety of chert. It occurs chiefly as nodules and masses in sedimentary rocks, such as chalks and limestones. Inside the nodule, flint is usually dark grey, black, green, white, or brown in colour, and often has a glassy or waxy appearance. A thin layer on the outside of the nodules is usually different in colour, typically white and rough in texture. Scrape tool with any knife (or sharp object, like a rock) to create small magnesium shavings. Ignite shavings with built-in sparking insert. Start hundreds of fires with a flame source of 5,400°F. Special: --- Drawback: --- Description: Identification: Average; Hardness: Dependent on Carrying Case; Armour Points/Inch: Dependent on amount of Parchment; A scroll always have seals using an expensive and heavy surface of Parchment; they are reinforced with leather boundaries for protection, or even metal rods for larger scrolls. Scrolls are usually 8 inches by 12 inches in size. Scrolls are often rolled from both ends to create a double tube for easier unfurling when they are needed for using. Phantasm - 60TP Phantasm Perception (10TP) Rank: "D" Skill: GenJutsu Effect: Jutsu allows the user to perform Phantasm Perceptions. Phantasms can only be perceived by the user and target, unlike the previous 3 Perceptions. The impression created by a Phantasm exists only in the mind and is personalized for everyone perceiving it. All phantasms are therefore, Mind-Affecting Jutsus. Nightmare is a good example of such a Phantasm. If you want to keep your actions secret from everyone but your subjects, Phantasm is a good choice, whether you want to frighten or to deliver a message. Limit: --- Cruel Disappointment (10TP) Rank: "C" Skill: GenJutsu Effect: A strong jutsu that reduces the attack damage and save value of the targeted creature. Special: "Handseals" Drawback: --- Description: A Fear, Mind-Affecting Technique. Affects 1 living creature. The user is able to perform this technique at a distance of 30 meters plus 15 meters per class level. The duration of this technique is instantaneous. This technique may be disbelieved once interacted with. The next time the subject of this Jutsu attempts a movement that requires a die roll to determine success, the movement fails. However, the Jutsu creates the phantasmal image in the subject's mind that the action succeeded. The subject behaves accordingly for 1 round. During the next round, the phantasm fades and the subject now realizes that they were fooled. If the subject fails a second Will save, they then take a -20 morale penalty on attack damage, -4 morale penalty on Saves, and -20 to skill checks for 1d6+1 rounds afterward. Limit: Must know the Phantasm Perception. Phantasmal Fog (10TP) Rank: "C" Skill: GenJutsu Effect: With this Jutsu, the user causes the target creature to instantly believe that a cloud of fog has suddenly enveloped them. Special: "Handseals" Drawback: --- Description: A Mind-Affecting Technique. Affects 1 living creature. The user is able to perform this technique at a distance of 30 meters plus 15 meters per class level. The duration of this technique lasts for 5 minutes per class level. This technique may be disbelieved once interacted with. The effect obscures all sight, including dark-vision, beyond 2 meters. A creature within 2 meters has concealment. Creatures farther away have total concealment (and the target can’t use sight to locate the creature). The target does not make an initial disbelief save if it has ever encountered or has knowledge of the fog cloud. Limit: Must know the Phantasm Perception. Sensory Deprivation (10TP) Rank: "C" Skill: GenJutsu Effect: Rather than creating an illusion of something, this Jutsu creates an illusion of absolute nothingness. Special: "Handseals" Drawback: --- Description: A Mind-Affecting Technique. Affects 1 living creature. The user is able to perform this technique at a distance of 30 meters plus 15 meters per class level. The duration of this technique lasts for 5 rounds per class level. This technique may be negated. The Jutsu effect surrounds the target in a dark clinging shadow only it perceives, which blocks all auditory, olfactory, taste, and visual sensations. In addition, it blocks finely tuned senses of touch such as those that provide a creature with Tremorsense. A subject that fails its save is blinded and deafened, it gains no benefit from blind sensing techniques. The subject retains any telepathic or empathic links it might possess with other creatures while affected by the Jutsu. Limit: Must know the Phantasm Perception. Shadowmeld (10TP) Rank: "C" Skill: GenJutsu Effect: A phantasm Jutsu that makes the user seems undetectable. Special: --- Drawback: --- Description: Target of this technique is personal. Duration of this technique is 5 hours per Class Level. Will Save negate. This elaborate technique is in fact a preparation for the user's chakra stream to generate a "non-detection field" on command. The field can be activated anytime on the user's turn as a non-movement, and deactivated in the same manner. While the field is active, a person that lays eyes on, hears, or smells the user must make a Will save to avoid dismissing the user as an unimportant detail in the background, allowing him to hide in plain sight, without using cover. If the user is stationary, the user gains a +10 bonus to stealth checks against subjects failing their saves. Every time the user leaves a creature's line of sight for more than 5 rounds, it must make a new save to resist the technique regardless of the previous success or failure. In some conditions, such as lack of details to blend in, when walking in a blank, white room with the subject staring at the door for instance, the field may not work. This technique affects only the subject's visual senses, and cannot be dispelled. Limit: Must know Phantasm Perception. Weapon of Nightmares (10TP) Rank: "C" Skill: GenJutsu Effect: User imbues a weapon with Chakra that visits horrid visions upon the victims of its strikes. Special: "Handseals" Drawback: --- Description: A Mind-Affecting Technique. Affects anyone who interacts with the dagger through a strike. The user is able to perform this technique on a single weapon (Cannot be used as a Range attack). The duration of this technique lasts for 5 rounds per class level. This technique may be disbelieved once interacted with. With an eerie purple light, energy crackles through the weapon as the Jutsu is performed. When the user makes a successful strike with the weapon, it deals damage normally and the target must make a successful save or fall victim to horrible visions. Art of Throwing - 170TP The Stance (5TP) Rank: "E" Skill: TaiJutsu/Supplementary Effect: Stance is a crucial part of using any weapon. This is the basic stance technique. Special: --- Drawback: --- Description: Begin with the feet in a 90° comfortably separated at about half a shoulder's width apart. Center the weight on the rear leg. When throwing the user shifts their weight to the front. This causes the hips and shoulders to twist into the throw forcing the body's power into the throwing arm. After the throw is complete recover by returning to the original stance to ready the next throw. Limit: Must be a Throwing Specialist. The Grips (5tp) Rank: "E" Skill: TaiJutsu/Supplementary Effect: The user learns how to grip their weapons through two types of Grips, the Handle Grip, and the Blade Grip. Description: Another prerequisite technique that brings the Throwing Specialist even closer to combat without fumbling or worry of using the weapon. Normally without this technique there is a chance the user could miss their target and strike an alley who may be in melee combat with. This technique makes the user proficient in hitting the target even if the target is engaged in close combat with someone else. Limit: Must be a Throwing Specialist. Must know Point Blank Shot. Acrobatic Throw (10TP) Rank: "C" Skill: TaiJutsu/Supplementary Effect: User compensates skill for awkward attack positions such as hanging upside down from a branch, sliding down a slow or dropping from a balcony. The Throwing Specialist is only able to throw at 1/3rd of their normal proficiency. With this technique the user is able to throw at awkward positions. They are able to throw upside down from a branch, sliding down a slope, jumping and falling, or even rolling on the floor. With this technique the user may throw at 1/2 their proficiency . Throw on the Run (10TP) Rank: "C" Skill: TaiJutsu/Supplementary Effect: When attacking with a throwing weapon, the user may move while attacking within 2/3rd proficient in range. Description: Normally a user is able to throw at a flat-footed target within 10 meters while hiding and not be seen or spotted. This technique allows the user to throw at a further distance of 20 meters and able to stay hidden and unseen. User must stay hidden in order for this technique to work. Ambushing Throw (10TP) Rank: "C" Skill: TaiJutsu/Supplementary Effect: User is able to throw within their sneaking attack distance without having the opponent knowing where the ranged weapon came from. Special: --- Drawback: --- Description: The character can throw from a hiding place and remain hidden. Once any target enters combat, the only benefit of this maneuver is that the opponents do not know where the ranged weapons are coming from, unless they observe greatly (Observation Very Difficult, or Ballistics Very Difficult). Boxing - 50TP Upright Stance (5TP) Rank: "E" Skill: TaiJutsu Effect: A Basic upright stance used in boxing. Special: --- Drawback: --- Description: Picture To adopt an Upright Stance, you should stand with your legs roughly shoulder-width apart. Your back foot should be about half a step behind your front foot. If your dominant boxing hand is your right hand, your left foot will lead. Lift your right heel off the ground by about 3 inches and point both feet inward (although do not exaggerate this movement). If you lift your heel too far off the ground, or turn your feet too far inward, you will become unbalanced. As a test, imagine someone pushing you from any direction. In a properly balanced stance, you should be able to maintain an upright position and not fall to the ground or sway from side to side. To increase the stability of your stance, keep your knees and hips slightly bent but make sure your back is straight. Your lead fist (which will be your left fist if your dominant boxing hand is your right hand) should be positioned vertically at eye level, approximately six inches away from your face. Your right fist should be positioned next to your chin, with your elbow held against your ribcage. This is good defensive positioning and will effectively protect your body. Whilst watching televised boxing matches, you may have noticed the boxers tapping their cheeks with their hands. This repetitive action acts as a reminder to keep fists up at all times and is especially important as the match progresses and energy levels drop. To further protect yourself from blows from your opponent, keep your chin pressed against your chest. Punches to the jaw often cause knock-outs, so it is essential to keep this stance throughout the boxing match. Limit: Must learn in a gym that teaches Bokushingu (Boxing) Semi-Crouch (5TP) Rank: "E" Skill: TaiJutsu Effect: A semi-crouched stance used in boxing. Special: --- Drawback: --- Description: Picture You may choose to fight from a crouch (or semi-crouch) position during a boxing match. If you choose this option, lean forward rather than maintaining an upright position, whilst making sure your feet are kept close together. The most important thing to remember when adopting a balanced boxing stance is to relax. If you start to become tense, your balance will be negatively affected and you will be more likely to receive a harmful blow from your opponent. Your neck and back should never feel under any pressure. If your neck and back do feel tense, you may be leaning your shoulders too far forward and not rotating your hips in line with them. If you want to increase the range of your punches, try positioning your front foot ahead of your head. To see the difference that this new stance can make, stand in front of a punch bag whilst keeping your back foot steady and in the normal position. Punch forward slowly and keep your punch at its full extension. After this, move your lead foot in front of your head and repeat the punching movement. Stop the punch at its full extension and you should be able to notice the increased range now available to you. When practicing this variation, keep the other elements of the orthodox stance, such as the position of the elbows and chin, the same. Limit: Must learn in a gym that teaches Bokushingu (Boxing) The Jab (10TP) Rank: "D" Skill: TaiJutsu Effect: A quick, straight punch thrown with the lead hand from the guard position. Special: --- Drawback: --- Description: Picture Stand with your feet hip distance apart. Step your right foot back 18-24 inches with the weight of your right leg on the ball of your foot (right heel is somewhat elevated and the knees are slightly bent). Bring your right fist close to your right cheek bone and your left fist slightly in front of it about jaw height. Pull your elbows in towards your ribs so that they line up somewhat below your fists. Push off of the ball of the right foot, bend the left knee slightly and start to extend the left hand in a pushing type motion (there should be a subtle rotation as your left hand goes forward your right shoulder moves back). You may also rotate the fist so that when it reaches the desired destination your left palm will be facing down. Retract the left hand as fast as you extended it and return to the original position. Remember before punching relax the hand, snap it forward and clinch before making contact. Do your best to strike with the first two knuckles and keep your wrist in neutral position upon impact. Aim six to eight inches beyond your target. Extend the arm only about 90-95 percent. Keep your chin tucked down toward your chest--this protects your jaw from exposure to being hit. Bring your hand back as fast as you throw it. Move your head on an angle as you throw the punch. Limit: Must learn in a gym that teaches Bokushingu (Boxing), Must know Upright Stance or Semi-Crouch The Cross/The Straight (10TP) Rank: "D" Skill: TaiJutsu Effect: A powerful, straight punch thrown with the rear hand. Special: --- Drawback: --- Description: Picture Determine which hand is your strong hand. Although you can throw a straight hand punch with either your left or right hand, it will be most effective if you use your strongest hand. Most right-handed fighters have a stronger right hand, while left-handed fighters have stronger left hands. Get into a basic boxing stance. Keep your feet shoulder-width apart with your knees slightly bent. If you are right-handed, your left shoulder should be pointed toward the other fighter and your right shoulder should be back. The opposite is true if you are left-handed. Keep both hands up. They should hover just under the chin, with your forearms in front of your body. This will protect you from the opponent's punches. Begin the straight hand punch from the foot. Push off your back foot and pivot toward your opponent, twisting your foot, leg, torso and shoulders. Concentrate on bringing power up from your leg, hips, trunk and shoulders and channeling it into your fist as you twist your body. If you don't pivot your body, your punch will be much weaker than if you use the correct form. Aim for the other fighter's face. Punch out in a straight line and extend the arm out all the way. At the point of impact, your feet and body should be facing the other fighter. Snap your hand back to your chin as you twist your body back to the beginning position. Remember to keep your left hand up throughout the punch so you have a guard up to protect you from a counterpunch. Limit: Must learn in a gym that teaches Bokushingu (Boxing), Must know Upright Stance or Semi-Crouch The Hook (10TP) Rank: "D" Skill: TaiJutsu Effect: A semi-circular punch thrown with the lead hand or rear hand to the side of the opponent's head. Special: --- Drawback: --- Description: Picture Shift your weight subtly forward by slightly bending your front leg while elevating your lead elbow to about shoulder height. Push off your front leg to shift your weight more towards the back leg while rotating your torso in the same direction with your lead hand heading towards a specific target. For the purpose of this intro we'll aim face high. That rotation and shifting motion should be accompanied by a whipping or thrusting of the hips. If you have your left leg forward and are throwing a lead hand hook (left hand hook) your hips should thrust from left to right while executing this punch. The punch should reach its mark with tremendous force. This will happen by throwing it fast and aiming to land your fist 6 to 8 inches beyond your target. Your fist can either be positioned to have your palm facing you or the ground. Return to your original stance. Do your best to hit your target with your first two knuckles. Limit: Must learn in a gym that teaches Bokushingu (Boxing), Must know Upright Stance or Semi-Crouch The Uppercut (10TP) Rank: "D" Skill: TaiJutsu Effect: A vertical, rising punch thrown with the lead hand or rear hand. Special: --- Drawback: --- Description: Picture To throw a right uppercut, start in the classic boxing stance with the back (right) knee bent. Lower the right shoulder to drop the right side of the body in a semi-crouch position. Remember to keep the left fist up by the chin to protect the head. Now as you rotate the hips forward, push the ball of the back foot, (the right foot), and punch the right fist up towards the target. The right side of the back and the right shoulder will follow through with the rotation of the hips. The hips finish being squared to the front. The right arm always stays close to the body and moves upward in a semi-circle. To throw the left uppercut from the classic boxing stance, start with squared off hips, left knee bent and the left shoulder lowered. The body weight is then transferred to the ball of the left foot as the punch is delivered with a bent arm at a right angle and the hips will rotate into the classic boxing stance. Do your best to hit your target with your first two knuckles. Remember to bend the both of the knees and lean the body forward. Bring the first close to the side and remember to have the knuckles facing down. Extend the bent knees at full force Use the momentum and the body to thrust the fist upward. One hand grips the end of the polearm while the other grips the middle. The polearm should point towards the opponent's neck. Armiger - 40TP Shield Focus (10TP) Rank: "D" Skill: TaiJutsu Effect: User is skilled at deflecting blows with their shield. Special: --- Drawback: --- Description: User learns a valuable stance that forms the core of this style, that being the nature of the unbreakable wall. By focusing one's attention to defense with their shield, their martial skill improves their defense. The user gains an additional +2 Hardness bonus to their Guard Meter while they are in their full defense stance. This bonus increases by +2 per Class Level. Limit: Must be an Armiger. Enduring Shell (10TP) Rank: "C" (Special, See Description) Skill: TaiJutsu Effect: A technique allowing the user to endure after effects of techniques. Special: --- Drawback: May be learned 4 Times. Description: By tightening up behind their shield and dropping low under its protective aegis, the user learns to minimize the risk they suffer from Jutsus and after effects that would cause them harm. Normally when in Guarding Position the user will suffer a Guarding After Effect Damage (Ex: Burns from Fire/Electrocution from Lightning/Knockback) equal to 20% of the full attack. Each time learned the effect is reduced by 5%. When the user learns this technique the 1st 2 times they train it as a regular "C" Rank Jutsu. Greater Shield Focus (10TP) Rank: "C" Skill: Supplementary Effect: User is skilled at deflecting blows with their shield. Sledding (10TP) Rank: "D" Skill: TaiJutsu Effect: A simple technique allowing the user to sled down all types of terrain without problems. Special: --- Drawback: --- Description: Sledding is a popular pastime in areas with deep winter snows, and also in some lands with high, sandy dunes. Normally, such pursuits involve the use of a specially made sled; but more than one adventurer has hurled themselves down a slope while riding on the back of a sufficiently large shield, either for the sheer pleasure of it or because the alternative seemed far worse. Any shield large enough to be used to give total cover to a character can also be used as a sled, provided it does not have spikes. Shield spikes dig into the ground and prevent movement. The ground must also be sufficiently sloped and smooth. Usually, this means that there must be a good layer of snow or sand, but short, damp grass may also be sufficient. With this skill, or release, the user is now capable of using, and performing techniques that deal with the element of Fire. This means that any NinJutsu or specialized TaiJutsu that deals the Fire Release will need this in order to be performed correctly. Limit: --- Heat Mastery, when a user reaches to a point where they gain the full potential and understanding of fire and Heat the user is capable of many things. A technique such as this is a mastery of all Fire Techniques to where they do not have to worry about Minor Burns. Katon - Goukakyuu no Jutsu (Great Fireball Technique) (10TP) Rank: "C" "B" Rank Skill: NinJutsu Effect: The user is capable of performing a few handseals in which gives them the capability of blowing a large body of fire in size of a large sphere that has great fire proportions and explosive capabilities. Special: "Handseals" Drawback: Depending on the Rank, is dependent on how strong or how much the user is capable of doing with the Goukakyuu no Jutsu. Description: The user quickly performs a few handseals. The user then places the hand over their mouth creating a small like circle. This technique in turn is then to help the user control the great flame. The use then blows out and creates a large fireball that twice the size of a normal human body. When the "C" Rank version is first learned the user is only capable of blowing out the Great Fireball that is cannot be moved or go anywhere else. This also means that the technique does not explode in a fiery explosion, but burns greatly to anyone that is caught within the technique. When the user learns the "B" Rank version then the user is capable blowing the Great Fireball into the distance, sending it away from the use it to hurl towards the very opponent. This technique is only capable of going into a straight line and this is capable of having the size three times the size of a human body. This technique when launched at an opponent then becomes dangerous because at this point the technique can explode causing damage that is even more devastating. This is simply a "prerequisite" technique. When first learned the user may only transform 1 limb (arm or a leg). Each time learned the user may transform an additional limb. Example: If the user knows this technique twice, they may transform 1 arm into a Shield, and the other into a Blade, or both into Shields as long as the user knows the required techniques. Full Body Transformation (60TP) Rank: "B" Skill: Supplementary Effect: A basic technique that allows the user to transform their whole body under the effect of the Protean blood. Armour (10TP) Rank: "D", "C", "B", "A", "S" Skill: Supplementary Effect: While in this form, they take less damage, but the added density results in loss of movement speed and overall agility. Special: --- Drawback: The user loses 3 movements while in Armour. Armour disables the ability to Glide. Description: Picture: Picture: Picture When used a large amount of biomass is shifted throughout the body of the user, molding it into a protective suit of black-biomass armour. The Armour is considered one of the best defenses for a Protean. While in this form, the user takes less damage, but the added density results in loss of movement, speed, and overall agility. Unlike the Shield, which completely negates minor frontal damage at the cost of having a temporarily finite ability to absorb punishment, the Armour significantly reduces all-round damage taken by the user without losing effectiveness. A technique that is ideal for close combat, allowing the user to go toe to toe with the strongest foes without quickly succumbing to large amounts of damage. When first learned this technique gives the Armour a hardness of a 10 against all Damage. Each time learned the hardness of the Armour increases by 5 giving a max of a Hardness 30 at "S" Rank. Limit: Must be a Protean. Must know Full Body Transformation. Shield (50TP)(10TP)(10TP)(10TP) Rank: "B" + "C" Skill: Supplementary Effect: The Shield is one of the defensive powers that completely nullifies oncoming physical damage that hits the shield. Special: --- Drawback: --- Description: Picture: Picture Unlike the Armor, Shield completely nullifies damage instead of merely reducing it, though only attacks directed to the front where it makes contact with the shield. When using Shield, a large amount of biomass is shifted to the user's arm, molding it into a nigh-impenetrable black-biomass shield. Unlike Armour, mobility is not hindered when the Shield is active. The Shield blocks all incoming frontal projectile fire, or all-round melee attacks, until its damage threshold is reached, at which point it will shatter and require time to regenerate before it can be deployed again (2 round wait period). When first learned the user is able to withstand 60 Points worth of Damage. Each time learned ("C" Rank Training) the Shield gains strength of additional 40 Points. If the user knows Armour, half of the Armour Hardness is automatically applied to Shield. Limit: Must be a Protean. Must know Partial Transformation. Binding (Right Arm) (80TP) Rank: "B" Skill: Supplementary Effect: By taking a massive amount of surging nature chakra the Protean sacrifices their arm to gain extraordinary power. Special: --- Drawback: Only applied to 1 arm. Description: PictureUser chooses 1 arm (or Leg). The Protean has bound some form of Nature Chakra into an arm. The Nature Chakra works with the bloodline of the Protean giving a surge of power. The arm functions as a normal arm unless specially noted. The user binds either an "evil" or "good" aligned force into their Arm. This does not need to reflect the Protean's alignment. Regardless of the alignment of the power bound in the arm—nature chakra resents being bound there. Once these choices have been made they cannot be changed. The Godhand has 2 states; active and suppressed. A suppressed arm functions like a normal arm and considered as an "undrawn" weapon. It gains no benefits from being a Godarm in this state but the arm does not rebel. An active divine arm gains all the benefits for being a Godhand but the arm rebels at the start of each round. Activating and suppressing a Godhand takes the same movement as drawing or sheathing a weapon (allowing it to be used with Techniques like Quick Draw). When activating a Godhand, the Godhand can have any Godhand Powers they know and wishes active upon activating it. The arm has a very distinctive and clearly divine appearance reflecting the nature of the arm. It is often larger than the other arm, creating a visible asymmetry in the godhand’s silhouette. As they progress in Class Levels it becomes more lavish, much larger, and far more difficult to hide. It takes a Difficulty 20 + 10 per Class Level Disguise check to disguise its appearance from a casual observer. A suppressed Godhand reduces the check by 20 + 5 per Class Level. A divine arm radiates an aura of the alignment of the power sealed within it, though this is clearly separate from the Protean’s own. Limit: Must be a Protean. God's Hand (80TP) Rank: "B" Skill: Supplementary Effect: Protean gets to use Improved and Greater Unarmed Strike with their Godhand while bypassing specific Damage Reduction. Special: --- Drawback: Description: The Protean gains Improved Unarmed Strike and Greater Unarmed Strike as a technique. Attacks from the bounded arm is always treated as good or evil aligned (depending on what they selected when first learning Binding) for the purposes of overcoming Damage Reduction. Limit: Must be a Protean. Must know Binding. Domination (30TP) Rank: "C" Skill: Supplementary Effect: For a limited time the user can dominate their Godhand, giving it no chance to rebel. Special: --- Drawback: --- Description: A Protean can dominate their godhand—giving it no chance to rebel for 1 turn. The user may only do this 2 times per day at "D" Class, and additional +1 time per day for every Class Level thereafter. If the user has the claw attack through another means, their claw damage improves by 2 weapon sizes. Special: --- Drawback: --- Description: As a full-round movement that provokes an opportunity attack, the user may partake of the liver of a Tiny or Diminutive animal killed in the last 5 minutes per Class Level, healing 4 + 5 divided by Handseals Armour Points of damage and gaining a +1 morale bonus to Will saves for the next minute. Any excess armour points persist as temporary armour points for the same duration. The user may only heal up to 8 armour points per Class Level per day with the ability, but may receive the other benefits every time they perform this act. This technique’s temporary armour points and save bonus do not stack with itself. The user cannot gain this technique’s benefits from eating an animal companion, familiar, special mount, or other augmented animal. Limit: Must be an Inuzuka member. Four Legs Technique (10TP) Rank: "C" Skill: NinJutsu Effect: This technique grants animal-like accelerated fighting instinct and reflexes to the user. Special: --- Drawback: --- Description: A personal technique. Duration is 5 rounds per Class Level. The user’s feature become more feral and they become more beast than man. A simple stare from the predator has become enough to instill fear in the heart of their enemy. For the duration of this technique, the user gain a claw and bite attack that deals damage equal to 2 per Class Level. They also gain a +20 enhancement bonus to Intimidation. In addition, the user now gains +3 enhancement bonus to Movements for the duration of the technique. If the user falls unconscious, the transformation is dispelled. Limit: Must be an Inuzuka member.
