Tethys, a skilled archeress belonging to the ranks of Falcon and Lord Matsuzaki, a high-ranking member of the Bear faction, still guard the doors of the newly erected Sound Village Tower. Located within the hub of the village, the lofty heights of the establishment loom over everything else that encompasses its central position. Here, the Otokage works alongside members of the ANBU divisions to keep the village operating with an optimal efficiency.
For now, only the lobby floor where the receptionist Yamato works is open to the public. Here, one may request missions and seek an audience with the acting Otokage.
Housed in atrous cloths of Lideren design, Zan'ei approached the hub of the village and entered into the safe-house of Sound. It had been the tower of Otogakure, a true sight to behold.
Zan'ei would approach the desk of Yamato and request a set of missions. This had come to be a surprise for the receptionist, as the village hadn't had any real activity in months. Since the tasks that the Genin had asked for were surely within his capability, Yamato suggested that he go tag-along with Kou, who had been sent to the southern city of Dante to rescue a popstar princess. The holodisk was given to Zan'ei, alongside the permission to leave the village while out on duty. With so much chaos wrecking havoc in the village, it was necessary to authorize the Genin's entrance and exiting of the gates. He would turn on his heel and silently exit the tower.

Finding himself pleased with the reconstruction of the Otogakure Tower, Souma returned to his cavernous quarters, where two Dragon-kin awaited his orders. The Otokage had been absent, having taken a prolonged hiatus during his time as village leader for reasons that lay outside the realm of Rice Field. Since he was capable of fascinating ninjutsu, he was able to attend the Chunin Exams as a spectator... Much was left to be promised in the known Shinobi World.
Upon his return, the receptionist Yamato had already been working to process new information that the Sound Shadow had gathered. Li Hideki had also greeted his brother-in-arms as they met for a moment on the fourth floor. In time, they retreated to impenetrable depths of steel as the basement floor stretched before them. The situation had been an odd one, surely; another chime, and from within the elevator emerged the notorious Minerai scientist Surya, in all of his sullen gaiety.
“Well, well, well....” Surya’s eyes met Souma’s own. “ Better late than never, Sugoi-sama.”

Souma went on to explain the position that the Junayd had given the Nation of Sound in diverse territories, namely those to the southern areas of Cha no Kuni. Since this seafaring nation had many exports from across the known world and into those that many natives of the Ninja world knew not of, the Otokage figured this a vital area to keep the influx of dark influences spawning. The Demon and Shadow countries already had numerous ships flowing from their ports to Tea country carrying foot soldiers of Otogakure’s shadow army. Since the daimyou of Cha figured out these schemes, Sound has had to find another entry point of their forces, and soon Souma would have a base set-up in Oto’s name in an island country near Cha-kuni.
Hideki, as acting head of the Sound Nation in Souma’s stead, had managed to quell the chaotic fervor that rang in the streets of the Lideren hidden village. There had only been a few who kept to dark proclivities in Oto and those select ninja and kunoichi belonged to the dark ranks of Souma’s shadow army. The Kage assistant had been a maestro and played his role phenomenally while Souma met with the Oni warlords to the north. Every now and then, Surya snickered at the strange pronunciation of one of the barbarian’s names.
With a grin, the Otokage went on to reveal his next plan. It would appear that another thorn in Otogakure’s side would reveal itself, but this would work in the village’s favor in terms of alliances. There had been a masterful Kedouin hailing from Amegakure no Sato that had blended in with the Junyad while in the rainforests of Cha no Kuni. This man had went on to single handedly infiltrate the daimyou’s estate and assassinate him. What a viable asset for the military of Sound if they could subjugate him to their influences. Souma informed Hideki and Surya that an alliance with the Hidden Rain was to be made and that he had already had Yamato working on a letter for the embassy. With everything slowly shifting into gear, there were but a few more pieces to arrange on the board in order to have a successful streak in the next several moves of Otogakure’s mysterious rise.
While the three dark-heads waited for their jounin level courier, they spoke of Star country and its energies; the land of Shadow and the Junayd; and then of Snow country and the future possibilities that they may bring after reaching an alliance with the Hidden Rain.
Over the course of several weeks, Souma reworked his stratagem and would refer to the previous Otokage's scrolls and documents pertaining to alliances. It would seem that Kusa-, Kumo- and Yukigakure were his village's current allies and so an additional element of subterfuge could be applied in his ploy for a shadow government. With these select nations having vast and uncharted territories, he could immigrate northern forces into the surrounding land, and have oni and shadowed-men at his lingering disposal.
He had Yamato send out letters directly from the tower. For now, the Embassy had been closed and so the tower of Otogakure would become the hub of all in- and egress communications.

Sumire arrived at the newly directed Tower, she was excited it was going to be her first time back doing missions in a while. The excitable genin was ready to get back out there and and undertake missions once more. In her typical pink outft, the vest, sleevless top, shoes, trousers and headband all in varying shades of pink / grey she was ready. On her person she had 1,000 sheets of paper and a few kunai. She was in awe a little of the tower as she entered, it had changed hands since she was last here so this was a compeltely new experience for her.
After looking around at the tower's design Sumire approached the mission board, after a quick review she removed a few of the basic 'D' rank tags and one 'C' rank mission which unfortunately was the highest tag she was allowed to take for now. With the missions she chose in hand Sumi approached the desk, waiting in any queue there was before finally arriving at the front desk. With a confident smile she put the mission tags down on the counter top, "Hello, Could I take these missions please? Oh, and is it possible that I can take the training mission more than once or is that a one time mission, sorry it doesn't say." While standing about waiting for the answer she noticed something at the bottom of the C rank mission. "ooh, there isn't a reward posted on Icy Nights, What is the reward?"
Name: Icy Nights Rank: C Type: Courier Difficulty: High Objective: Deliver a message to the Embassy of Snow. Description: There have been rumors about an alliance between Sound and Snow. As the courier in this mission, find your way to the embassy in Yozamu and deliver a scroll to the receptionist. Reward:

Yamato blinked. It had been some time since any recognizable person entered into the Oto Tower. The kunoichi would be hard to miss, as her pink attire demanded the attention of his ocular senses. As Sumire approached the receptionist desk and inquired about several missions, Yamato responded thus:
“The reward for the courier mission has not yet been stated, but I heard several higher ups saying that it would be worth the venture;” he went on to confirm the three missions she had presented to him, “and the missions are repeatable—just monthly rather than weekly, sorry. I should get to updating the mission catalog. Thanks for bringing that to my attention!”
Before Sumire left, Yamato gave her a pass if she so needed one to exit the village to carry out the courier mission to Yuki-kuni. He would eventually revamp the missions and bring to Lord Souma’s attention that Yuki’s embassy would be visited soon. Maybe he would want another set of eyes watching the Sound genin to ensure a successful delivery...

A gleeful smile came across the face of the young kunoichi. " Okay, thank you. I will be back as soon as I can to show you how well I am doing." WIth the Mission slips returned Sumire's chakra folded them upto into little cranes as she proceeded to walk away with a spring in her step and her pass and scroll in head, almost breaking into a skip or run she was so happy and excited. It was time for her to get back to business.

Sumire arrived back at the village, she had travelled swiftly thanks to the use of her paper techniques. While wearing her classic pink outfit with the headband sat happily in her hair Sumire was feeling very proud, three taken missions, three completed. One Thousand sheet of paper stored in her holsters and one thousand held in her hand as she needed to purchase another set of holsters.
When within the tower Sumi would make her way over towards the desk awaiting her turn to hand over the mission reports. "Hello, I am back from my three missions. Here is the receipt form the scroll and my filled in form. Sorral of the Li clan trained me up in some of the clan techniques for the training." Sumi handed over the needed bits and pieces and awaited her reward for completing the set tasks.
A few days had passed, and the pink Genin had found her way back into the tower.
"Well done, Sumire-chan," Yamato commented as he took the mission slip and slid her the ryo reward. When she mentioned the particular member of the Li clan Yamato shook his head, having not been able to recall the person referenced.
He would allow some time to pass for further interaction with the kunoichi before he remembered:
"That's right--the reward for Icy Nights, lets see...." he got up and exited the receptionist area and went to the elevator. "Just a sec." The doors closed and the receptionist disappeared. Upon Yamato's return, Sumire would note a blank expression on his face. "Aha.. it seems that the village items are a little scarce--here," he turned quickly and produced another amount of ryo for the kunoichi. "Hopefully this makes up for that." He would then get an alert on the system monitor.
Red lights flashed off of his glasses and for a moment, the receptionist grew flustered. "I have a new mission for you. One of your genin comrades has been out on a mission for far too long in the dark city of Dante. Go find him and bring him back... sorry for the surprise notice." He wrote up a report and handed her the scroll:
Name: Chasing Shadows Rank: C Type: Unknown Difficulty: Unknown Objective: Find Nara Ajit. Description: A village genin has been out of the hidden village for far too long. Find him and return to the Oto Tower. Reward: 18000 ryo
Post by Sumire Violet on Sept 26, 2020 4:25:50 GMT -7
Sumire took the new scroll from the man behind the desk with a sharp nod. "Yes sir, I will go get ready. Sumire took her mission payment and put it away in her pouch before heading off towards the exit once she was dismissed. Her mission life was beginning once more.
Technically it would be his first "mission." It was common knowledge that before registering that young Genin would grab an introductory mission from the Otogakure Tower. It was a good way to keep track of those who had graduated to be officially indoctrinated into the ranks. Now it was Risan's turn. The boy strolled up to the desk with his customary smile and requested the intro mission. This new chapter in his life would officially begin on this day.
Name: Tabula Rasa Rank: D Type: Basic Difficulty: Unknown Objective: Sign up in the Oto Roster. Description: A decree has been called that all shinobi personnel of Otogakure no Sato are to report to the Roster office and log in their information. A simple task to accomplish that brings with it a little reward just for doing what one is told. Reward: 5500 Ryo
Sumire had went off and soon after in her stead, had entered a young male genin. He seemed to be the eccentric type. As he handed in the rather simple mission having filled out his shinobi registry detail, Yamato would smoothly slide him his ryo payment along side an additional scroll, which contained yet another mission for Risan.
“Easy pickings if you ask me, kid.” the receptionist assured with a faint smile.
feel free to accept this additional mission if you choose:
Name: Show Me a Move Rank: D Type: Training Difficulty: Moderate Objective: Train a C-rank Technique Description: Every shinobi operative should be able to perform at their best. With that being said, here is a simple mission to train any technique, so long as it's C-rank. Reward: 7000 Ryo
Risan took gladly took his payment with one hand and the next mission scroll with the other. Thoughts of which skill he should learn next flooded his mind. Though he didn't need to decide this very second, just some food for thought as he casually strolled out of the tower back to his normal training spot.

After months of apparently "missing," Zan'ei manifested in the atrium of the Oto Tower with all but one of his missions completed. He moved silently towards the receptionist desk, where Yamato sat with his mouth agape. "So ya think you can just waltz in here at any fuckin' time, do ya? Luckily for you, I thought you had died in Dante, but here you stand." The receptionist waved it off and took the scrolls from Ajit and cross-referenced for their completion. "Looks like you've been grindin' kiddo. Nice work. That "PINK" mission set has been postponed for now, so you're 5 for 5 on missions---got damn! Are you gonna try for the Chunins???"
As the long winded Yamato worked the fragile nerve of Ajit, the genin remained silent and only answered in shrug, nod and a final shrug. He did offer a small verbal response: "I doubt it, I have other things to tend to." Yamato guffawed and spun on the smooth wheels of his chair. The payment for these missions had to be given for their accomplishment. He would also recommend fresher missions to Ajit, who declined with a grunt.
"Okay.. okay." Yamato reassured as he passed along the ryo payment. "Don't go spending that grip all in one place: especially not back in Dante." Zan'ei filled his purse and turned back towards the doors of the tower without another word.
Yamato had also cancelled the mission to find Ajit: Chasing Shadows. He doubted the genin he had sent on that mission detail would have found him anyway.

After a lengthy hiatus, one perhaps spent clinging to shadows draping Dante, Ajit reappeared in the tower of Otogakure. His strength had been refreshed and he sought out Yamato at the front desk to polish the rust off his keenness. Deep blacks comforted his muscular frame as he strolled towards the receptionist.
"Long time no see, eh?" the seated man mused as he typed feverishly away at his keyboard. It would seem that elsewhere Yamato's talents had been needed, so the genin would make this brief. With a nod, Yamato approved of his mission requests and sent Ajit on his way.
