0/40, second post
After a few attempts, he found a frequency and amount of injuries that seemed to be quite optimal to keep the heart as strong as it could while not being draining upon the body. It had him wonder if he wanted to just apply such a version to himself to keep a good health. But as he didn't know how it would affect his own healing ability, he decided that he would at least wait with it until he knew the drawbacks of it. The next part was that he needed to make the pumping become quite a lot stronger and faster. Since he didn't really know how the heart in fact did do it normally, Emi began it by just scratching his head and ponder over how he'd be able to figure out how to replicate it.
When his ideas and trials all failed, he decided that there was only one way that he could know for sure. While he didn't like the idea to open up the chest of his clone, he didn't see any other option to moving forward. So he sharpened a knife to the point that it would barely hurt, then he heated it to kill any and all bacteria. Emi was able to keep the chest open for quite a short amount of time due to it actually being an easier mechanism than he had expected. It had looked so consistent and just like a normal muscle, making him able to consider any effects on it as if he were dealing with such. The Hoshigaki then was capable of producing a theory on how to make it work as intended, which meant that he did his couple of trials before he send the chakra instructions into the seal.
After a short break in which he took a power nap and then eat some, Emi went back and tried to come up with more things he would need to add. But the only thing that he had considered up to that point was to simply make the heart pumped faster and harder to make the body gain more air. So he decided that he would need to try it out for real, which he did by making sure that the clone was properly sedated. Then he finished off the seal and activated it with a tiny amount of chakra being send into it to create the stream. It was glowing for a few seconds as it was getting warmed up before he could see that the chakra attributes were send into the chest of the clone.
