The ambush had been a dirty move, but Emi was both interested in how the older ones had managed to escape and the younger clones had not been to affected by the weariness and adrenaline to come up with such an idea. The new ones did however no longer serve any more purpose, so Emi dispelled them and joined up with the first clones that just had finished another lap. He congratulated them and took them back into the house for some resting and further improvements of the technique. Because even though they had managed to do quite well, he had taken some notes on what seemed to be more difficult than normal for his clones. The height of theirs jumps, the burst of speed and zig zags had revealed that their reaction times were faster than their bodies.
Normally he wouldn't consider it any problem, but as the clones had been forced to compensate with additional moves, he felt it to be a waste of possibility. So when thy got back into the house, he asked them if they had noticed what he himself had seen. And even though they had felt some resistance in their movements, they couldn't say where it was coming from. So he had to go for his own observations and began to map out all of the steps a body had when experiencing an event to acting upon it. Frustratingly enough, it had been a lot more things that he yet had not even been dealt with.
But the first step that he decided to fix was to have the brain handle the new and much faster impulses from the rest of the body. Since he had no idea of how the brain actually worked, he felt like it was the safest to just do something similar to what he had done to the spine, to enhance what already was there. But as he had gotten to like the clones that he had and the process would be far to risky, he told them to rest while he practiced on other clones. They looked slightly hesitant, but then after a few exchanged looks they walked into the next room and occupied a bed each. While they slept Emi was working hard to make a prototype of the brain enhancer, which was far harder than he had expected as he needed to have all parts of the brains act in sync.
