At first glance the area seemed empty, almost as if it had been deserted eons before - the sun had departed long ago, the only semblance of light coming from the stoic stare of the moon above. It was full on this night, but the dense forestry that made up a vast part of the Mountains' Graveyard kept most of the landscape a darkened hue; if not for the many fractured skeletons and giant bones that littered the area, reflecting the moonlight in places it would not normally be able to reach, it would be nearly impossible to see.
It was for that reason why perhaps, the one I hunted had led me here. From a tactical view it was a sound plan, to lose your tracker under the curtain of night -- and even more so in this place, where light was almost non-existent. Unfortunately for him, a gift had trickled down through my bloodline, the Dokkalfar, and in conditions such as these, to me it was clear as day.
I was perched in the treetops, positioned perfectly, both feet planted carefully as not to alert him to my presence. He was right there, twenty meters ahead of where I hid, standing there, oblivious to what was about to happen. I could see him, and strangely the more I watched him the more my bones ached. It was a strange feeling, one i'd never felt before. I released my palm from a clinched fist, and slowly flesh peeled apart as a bone weapon slid from within. It did not hurt, but i felt something.
It was not pain, but a different feeling. Was it chakra? Truthfully, I did not know, but it was there .. oozing within the calcium that made up my weapon, creeping up the sharpened edge like a spider across its' web. It resonated with the frequency of my soul, and as outrageous as it may sound, spoke to me in a language that I could not comprehend, and yet, somehow understood.
