Now it was time to figure out two more things: how many sand streams Ryo could actually make and where to actually bring each individual stream up. When facing another sand manipulator, Ryo would just bring it up wherever he could in a short amount of time so that his enemy wouldn't be able to cut him off. Ryo regenerated his chakra and began to form the sand streams above the ground again. He would do this above ground to see just how many he could make and then send them underground to collect minerals and sand before he collected it above ground once again. Then he would summarize what he had been doing the entire training session and he would be done with it!
He formed five streams with no problems at all, his chakra not too high or too low at this point. He then added another five to the originals, the ten requiring a bit more chakra than before, but Ryo managed to keep his body at ease. He then added yet another five and had to put a lot more chakra into the technique, but everything was still running relative smooth. He tried to add another five and that was when his entire body reacted at once, as if yelling at him, telling him 'uh, what the hell are you thinkin?!' He quickly dispersed all twenty streams at the same time, resting until his chakra told him it was alright to continue on.
"Phew, that definitely took a lot out of me," Ryo muttered, sitting down Indian-style like he usually did when he was practicing this technique. He had his index and middle fingers from both hands pushed together, pointing skyward. His eyes were closed as he quickly formed the fifteen sand streams and pushed all of them below the ground quickly and easily. They ran through the sand even faster than before and five of them hit the big rocks. Another set of five broke off and went to the left, speeding that way until they found another cluster of decent sized rocks. The last set of five did the same thing only instead of going to the left they went to the right.
The extraction process definitely took longer than Ryo had hoped, but that was because he had to change his concentration from one stream to another quickly. If he did this too fast then he wouldn't get enough sand from each set of rocks, but if he did it too slow then he would lose most of his sand streams and not get enough as well. He sighed and kept all fifteen streams separate, bringing them up about halfway. He had already figured out a way to bring all the streams up at different locations at the same time (or within seconds of each other), but it was going to take a lot of chakra out of him. He built up his chakra until it was on the brink of explosion, but no explosion came.
He quickly jumped into the air, maintaining his connection with all fifteen of his streams, and whirled around on his heels. He pointed his index fingers of both hands at very specific and particular locations on the ground. Seconds after he pointed to the ground he let one of his streams underground go, not bothering to watch it erupt above the ground. He had to pick the right spots, and that's why he had been concentrating before. He was picking out spots in his mental map where he wanted the eruption to occur. Everything had to be timed correctly. Ryo finally stopped spinning, watching all of his sand erupt and cover the surrounding area. He just smiled...
