Manhunt Part One [Travel- Kusa Team 1]

[/i] much stuff in it. Zane sighed again, still waiting for his cousin and the new person to arrive. 'Kioko... hopefully it's a chick... hopefully a cute one...' Zane thought with a snicker. And so he continued to wait for his team, ready to start the mission.

[Matsu]

The hill seemed like it was really far away, or perhaps Matsu was simply procrastinating in his journey to meet up with his team. On he walked in a slow stride as he made his way across a field of tall grass which made him smile as it blew about in t he wind. However the smile would not last, once he had approached the hill, was within ten feet he would fall into a more serious state of mind. Everything from here on out was to be nothing but serious focus and business, even though he was sure that things everyone else would find funny would still probably happen, he was just that odd. His back pack was heavy, but not so much as others would be. They had probably brought all sorts of ninja gear, Matsu had a back pack full of chocolate bars.

Slowly begining his climb up the small hill, Matsu took twice as long as anyone would when climbing such a small hill to reach the top. It was then he noticed that Zane was there, as he had expected him to be. Zane was the one who had direct contact and recieved the orders from the kage. Taking a bite out of his chocolate bar, Matsu waved at Zane. "Two down...one to go..." he said slowly as he chewed. Matsu crouched low in his squat sitting position and seemed to be in deep thought. It was as if he knew what Zane was thinking, suddenly turning to look right into Zane's eyes with his own deep sleep deprived eyes he smirked. "Don't worry...she's cute..." he said as he took another bite out of his chocolate bar. He had been following his new teamate to find out information about her. He had really learned nothing more then what she looked like that night that Zane had stumbled upon her, he had been watching from the grass as he hunted spiders for his insect farm.

The girl walked silently towards her destination. She was suppose to meet her new team mates and was now on her fisrt mission. The girl had packed a few clothes and some snacks for the trip. Today she wore simple clothes, her top was a sleeveless turtle neck with a zipper in the middle. She also wore a black short skirts, with black boots and black gloves. She also wore a red scarf around her neck that fell down her back and down her breasts.

Her hair like always was losse and down her shorlers. Her aqua eyes survayed the area for sight of any of her other team mates. Though to her surprise she saw two figures over a small hill. They both seemed to be male and from the sight of things she recognized them, especially Zane. The other one was Matsu if she was not mistaken but the girl had never exchnged words with either of them, well except for last night, which was a bit odd. The girl hurried and got to where both males were. With a serious face that seemed to naver change expression and bowed her head slightly. "Hello." She would tilt her head slightly and looked at both of them. "Matsu and Zane, yes?" She asked just making sure she had their names correct, though she knew she had gotten them right. " My apologies, my names is Kioko." A small smile as she looked at them

"Heya Matsu-kun~" Zane said as his cousin arrived to where he was squatting. He stood up with a groan and stretched his arms above his head, groaning out loud and shutting his eyes as he did. "Yup yup, one more- just gotta wait for our final member~" Zane said, moving his torso left and right to stretch out some more. He sighed pleasantly, looking down at his cousin, somewhat surprised to see Matsu just in front of him staring into his eyes. Then again- after a lifetime of Matsu doing this- he really wasn't fully surprised. Zane snickered and shook his head at his cousin's words, Matsu knowing Zane too well sometimes. "Yeah, well, thanks for the heads up I guess." Zane said, continuing to snicker.

Zane took another deep breath and looked away from Matsu and the now approaching Kioko, closing his eyes as a gust of wind picked up, thoroughly enjoying the breeze. He grinned thinking of what his new team mate could possibly look like- though making sure to keep his thoughts somewhat clean- he couldn't let anything cloud his judgment when it came to the mission. Zane however was jerked out from his thoughts when he heard a voice that obviously wasn't Matsu's slow deep on, he crossed his arms and turned his head to see the pretty girl from last night. Zane blinked once then spun on his heel, uncrossing his arms then pointing with one finger at her. "I-it's you! From last night!" He exclaimed stupidly, not quite realizing that she knew him all too well. Zane shook his head and straightened his poster, adjusting his packs strap and exhaling slowly. "Aye, but it seems you know our names already~" Zane started but stopped as she introduced herself. He nodded and placed his hands on his hips and turned to Matsu. "Well, nice to officially meet you Kioko, and welcome to the team." Zane said before nodding at the pair. "Let's take a seat, and I can start briefing you two before we head out." He added, plopping down on his but and sitting cross legged, waiting for his team to sit near him.

[Matsu]

Matsu stared hard at her for a moment when she asked if their names were correct. Blinking a few times he opened his mouth but no words would come from it. Instead his foot rose up to his face, held tight within it's grasp was his chocolate bar. Matsu took a bite and continued to stare with his unnerving eyes, deep black circles beneath them. "It seems you are well informed, Kioko..." he said slowly as he started to chew. Of course he was expecting her to have information on them before hand, but he had a feeling that most knew him anyway because of the things he did and said. Many in Kusa knew of him, they also knew to give him a wide berth due to his weird nature. Matsu scratched his head with his right hand and remained balanced on one foot.

"Yes, a breifing would be best before we head out...I have no clue what the parameters are for the mission..." he said in his slow way of speaking. Generally he had a few pauses in his sentences, more so then most people which generally got on alot of other peoples nerves. "Why did Fina-Sama choose us...did he say?" asked Matsu, clearly there were more qualified, higher level Genin then them. It was only in his curious nature to wonder about something like this. However this was not to be mistaken with complaining, he was inwardly excited at the prospects of taking on a new more dangerous mission. "I'm sorry, continue..."

This was certainly something for the girl. She just watched the boys with her aqua eyes, the seemed-- interesting, well for her. But she felt a bi ackward being the only girl but hey she would have to get used to it. The girl would shake her head slightly and pay attention to what her team mates were to say though a brow would rise as the boy Zane seemed a bit too surprised seeing her here. The girl would blink a few times and then nod slowly. " Yes..." Was the only thing the girl would say to his words.

The girl would then tur towards the boy Matsu, he was very intriguing. Though his stare did nothing to her and she stared back at him, locking eyes with the boy. His features were quite interesting though she did not pay mind to such things. But she knew he would be something... The girl would only nod slightly to the boy words, she had a feeling he was to think she knew all his background history, though she only was good with names and remembering certain things, but oh well, she would do nothing. After the boy seemed to have had enough of her, she watched as he scratched his head. Though she did not made it seem too obvious. She would slowly kneel down on the grass and place her hand on her thighs.

She glaced at both boys and then just looked at the boy Zane, since he was the one with the information of the mission. Though Matsu's question was a bit odd, but struck a curious nerve as well. But for now she would just listen quietly to the instructions of the mission they were about to do.

Zane nodded as Matsu spoke, removing his bag from his shoulders and setting it beside him before opening it and pulling out the envelope the Head Council's Assistant had handed him. "In here is pretty much everything physically we're gonna need for this~" Zane said taking a deep breath then opening it. "Basically, the whole mission is pursuing then capturing a rouge chuunin- a Kusa oinin by my guess- and bringing him back home. We are to travel to the capital, set up a base in a hotel where we have reservations already, meet up with an ANBU contact waiting for us in the capital." Zane started, pulling out a piece of paper with the rouge chuunin's info and handing it to Matsu. "Unfortunately... we don't know much about them right now, ANBU's man is the one collecting info as we speak. Anyway, once we know what we're dealing with- and know the target's location- we will move, using what we can to capture him, which, again, we'll decide and plan once we get what we need info wise." He added, taking a deep breath and reaching back into his bag to pull out a piece of jerky then started to munch on it.

Zane was somewhat hesitant to answer Matsu's second question- though not fully sure why he was feeling this. But nonetheless, Zane took a deep breath then swallowed his bite, closing his eyes and smiling sheepishly. "I do apologize for this~ but Shishou, er, Fina-sama chose us for me more or less... He's kinda taking me under his wing, and wants me to prove my- and our- worth to him I guess..." Zane said, reaching up with his free hand to scratch at the back of his head. It was still a shock to him, having received the Kage's letter not more than a day or two ago, and was still reeling from the news. "So basically, if we can perform well, and complete the mission, we'll be in his good graces, and I'll finally have a sensei..." Zane added, tilting his head then turning to Kioko and nodding. "As soon as we're ready to go, we'll start moving to the capital- now, Matsu-kun and I already know each other well, but we still don't know too much about you Kioko- so I figured on the way there we'd get to know one another better, which as we all know, will make the mission go easier as well~" Zane said, taking another deep breath and turning to Matsu. "Any questions before we leave?"

[Matsu]

Matsu took the peice of paper and looked at it slowly for a moment or two. It seemed that they had quite a bit fo work ahead for them if they were to go after a rogue Chuunin. Odds are he would also have several tracking units of his own to cover his tracks and shield him from several probing teams. Matsu's mind worked over time as he thought of all the possiblities. He may be a little odd, but when it came to logic this was his game. He would have his opponent out thought long before the end of this journey, all he needed now was what the ANBU assigned as their contact had. "Perhaps we ought to get going soon. If what I gather from this info is correct, he may have already set up counter measures against us." said Matsu.

"Congradulations..." said Matsu dryly. He was never one to show true excitment unless it was beyond his control. So his cousin would finally have a teacher, something Matsu thought would be good for him to keep him on task in his training. 'So this is about proving his worth...well that won't be easy...' thought Matsu as he moved past both of them without a further word. From his haunched over position he jumped off towards a nearby tree in a very animalistic fashion. He would soon be a good distance ahead of his teamates if they did not hurry. 'Soon I will have a capture plan ready...soon we will have this over with...' he thought as he realized he had took off a bit without them and slowed down a bit.

Kioko listened to Zane quietly, looking down at her hands. This was certaintly something, though the boy Zane was a bit weird as to say, though she did not mind it much. The girl still listened quietly, listening to every word the boy said. Well was this something, he wanted for the Kage to be his sensei, well tat was none of her business but was a goal nonetheless. She took a deep breath as the boy asked that they should get to know eachother, well that was going to be a bit weird, she was not used to speaking of herself and well, she was not so good with words. But she'd have to try, she'd only nod to the boys words.

She glanced casually towards the boy Matsu, though she watched as he took the pice of white paper and started to anilize it, he seemed different though he was a smart one. She did not know what would go through the boys mind but she sure knew it was something very interesting and thought of in the spot. A brow would rise once more as the boy spoke to his cousin, saying a very dry congrats. She started to stand up since she had heard what she needed to hear. The girl then noticed the boy Matsu, starting to go ahead of them. She did not hesitate and followed, staying a bit behind, she had a feeling that he would be the one to show his worth, but only time would tell. Until then she would just... observe quietly.

Zane nodded when no questions were asked, and no prying was made. He was rather grateful he didn't have to explain anything further- knowing he told them pretty much all he knew. Zane didn't even glance up as Matsu and Kioko both got up and started walking, he himself grabbing the paperwork then slipping it back into the envelope and sliding that into his pack. 'Nice of them to wait~' Zane thought, snickering to himself as he slid his pack back onto his back and standing up himself. If Zane was like most people, he'd probably have jogged to catch up to at least Kioko- Zane already guessing that Matsu was ahead of them. But instead he just increased his stride length, soon catching up to Kioko's side with his hands intertwined and held behind his head, walking casually and looking up at the sky.

After a few moments of thinking of what to say, Zane glanced over at Kioko and smiled warmly. "So... ever been to the capital before? I know I haven't, this is actually my first time leaving the village." Zane said, closing his eyes as his smile slid into a sheepish grin. Zane was in fact rather nervous about this fact, in a few more minutes, he'll have traveled farther from Kusagakure no Sato than he ever had. But he also knew nothing would happen, Zane had a very good feeling about this mission though- call it destiny, but he knew with this, he would show Fina that he really was worthy of serving under him. After another moment Zane brought his hands down, one sliding into a pocket the other cupping next to his mouth. "Oi! Matsu-kun! Dun go to far now, stay in sight~" He called, grinning once more at Kioko afterwards. "Yeah... Matsu-kun is a tad odd, but you really can't find a better person in my opinion~" Zane added, beaming at the thought of his cousin.

[Matsu]

Matsu heard Zane call out to him but he did not slow down all the way, just simply did a one eighty twist with his body landing on his feet and then doing a back flip before turning to walk forward slowly. His mind was on other things at the time being. His hauched over posture many figured was from years of doing it over and over but in fact there was nothing wrong with Matsu...that anyone knew of anyhow. 'We make out base at the hotel...meet our contact who could also be a spy, I shall make a note to be weary of him...' thought Matsu, he was never the type of person to share everything with everyone else. Generally the thoughts in his head stayed there when they were on a more serious manner, he often forgot that others needed the information too.

'I wonder what they're talking about...' thought Matsu as he slowed his pace and waited for them to catch up. He slowly took a bite out his chocolate bar as he waited. 'Kusakage has been gone for quite sometime. I wonder whats going on...' thought Matsu as he pondered over this. "OI! Zane, do you know why the kage is gone?" he asked slowly as he allowed for them to get closer.

The girl looked at Zane and shook her head slightly. "No, this would be my first time." She said as she looked at th boy with her aqua eyes. From the cornr of her eyes she kept a close wtch on the other boy. He seemed very intelligent and well he might as well do the mission himself. He seemed to had been lost i thought until his cousi spoke to him. Kioko only listened as they both exchanged words, she felt a bit out of place... She just kept quiet and followed, noticing that the boy had slowed down and seemed to be catching to him.

Zane nodded and and shoved his hands into his pockets. "Aye~ He's at the chuunin exams this year, to observe I think." Zane responded, tilting his head to the right slightly as he did. In all honesty, he wasn't too sure himself, the Kusakage only giving him vague information. But Zane had his theories- including Fina scoping out their fellow villages shinobi. As Kioko and him got up to Matsu, Zane patted his cousin's shoulder, a habit more than anything. "This should be interesting then, since I don't think Matsu-kun has been there either, it'll be a funky adventure for us all I'm sure." Zane said, beaming at Kioko and Matsu as he did. Zane couldn't shake off this good feeling he had about the upcoming mission, part of it definitely could be the fact that this would be Team 1's first mission- and an important one at that. He couldn't put his thumb on it, but Zane didn't care, he was feeling lucky.

[Matsu]

Matsu turned his head to look at his cousin with a blank stare before suddenly snapping his attention in Kioko's direction. "You are a medic correct?" he would ask as he started to mumble to himself not really waiting for an answer. Something about how useful she'd be in his plan before it became too jumbled and silent to understand. 'Perfect...' he thought as he turned to the others. "Last one there is a rotten egg!" he suddenly exclaimed as he vanished in a flicker of lines, he shunshined off towards the capital.

The girl smiled slightly as Zane spoke. For ome reason Matsu had surprsied the girl a bit as he snapped his attention towards her. Weird, she though it was. "Yes, I am." She said as the boy apperantly was lost in his own thoughts once more. Now she was more curious about the boy then ever. He was trully intriguing. Though she would blink several times as the boy shunshinned himself towards the capital. Without wasting any more time the girl would do the same and followed. This was sure to be an adventure...

Zane blinked as both Matsu and Kioko flashed away, leaving him standing there blinking. "B-but wait~" Zane started but knew it was far from too late to stop them. He however took no offense, merely snickered and shook his head. Looks like his team was just as anxious to continue this mission as he was. He knew that this mission would be extremely rewarding- not just monetarily, but personally, having such a high leveled mission should be able to bring the team together more, though it was more so Kioko with Matsu and himself. "Alright, let's do this then!" Zane snickered and grinned before he shunshinned himself towards the capital, where the next part of the mission awaited the team...
