The ANBU that presented himself beside the other spoke casually, almost too casually to me and my lover. It had piqued my interest, to say the least, yet I was weary - there were many in this room I could not trust.
What I want is universal for any man of any village - a home for my family, an establishment for my children to grow in. In order for that to happen, I must first strengthen this place and unite its people with my own; my brother and I have strove for years to bring the Uchiha back together... since Konohagakure allowed them to be pushed to the brink of extinction.
Hinagiku has done nothing but boost Mizu no Kuni's defenses, and my brother and I have helped. Though it was not known, I humbly made a donation of half a million Ryo to this country so that the slums could prosper, its people brought beneath a banner of unity and hope.
What I want is for Kirigakure to stand stall once more, with all of it's people helping to do such. Surely, that is no crime?
That's when the other ANBU continued, listing off the misdoings of my beloved queen - she was close behind me, looking upon them.
They were truthful, this I could not lie. Hinagiku had done many things that, by technical terms, were illegal; however, in retrospect these actions strengthened Kirigakure and Mizu no Kuni tenfold. It was Sector Seven that dealt with many of the missing shinobi, severing connections to those that had given the village a bad name - It was I that made nearly a half-million Ryo donation toward the village, which would be used to build the Daimyo's palace.
What's more, they had revealed her secret. Unfortunately, Leaf would not have their mounted head - I wouldn't allow it.
No, this was not acceptable.
Konohagakure will not have her, and neither will your self-absorbed Council! T'was a foolish thing of you, entering the lion's den.
My expression had hardened, my eyes narrow and my lips creased by a dominant frown. I was aggravated, and in the fear of Hinagiku's safety I was losing my composure - it reminded me of my battle with-- no, I couldn't let my thoughts wander. Once more I focused, my hand extended from my frame as a means to blockade any that would seek her.
This was when he cleared the floor, and it seemed like violence would once more be my only option. My hastiness melted away, my eyes growing dull before metamorphosis struck them; crimson spread across the onyx, the ebony tomoe visible in their trio cluster.
"Listen well, ANBU of the Council. Take one more step toward Hinagiku and endanger my unborn children-- and I will kill you."
