Old Man Kurokashi made his way from the item shop, of course he used the toilet while he was in there. Needless to say, the whole block was deserted now, thanks to him. He slowly made his way down the now empty street, his new Bojutsu training scroll gripped tightly in his left skeletal mitt. His large Bo staff held in his right, used primarily as a walking stick. After about a block of walking and a hundred years....he was slow, it took time to traverse a short distance. The old man had come upon a bench at last. It was here he would take a seat, and unravel his new scroll. The contents flashed over his spectacles, the information on the paper flushed memories from the Kamyuja. A grin grew across his old lips, hidden well by his facial hair.
-Flashback-
Not days after the attempted robbery at his mothers bakery had Kurokashi left his childhood home. He had killed the very man who attempted to rob him, and his life had been changed forever because of it. Something deep within had been unlocked, The boy had become a monster it seemed and he sought a path to help him tame the beast within.
It was not two days after he had left his home that the boy had come to a empty medow, a single apple tree grew in the center of the glorious place. The boy, starved from his travels wasted no time. He dashed to the tree as fast as he could, a quick climb lead him to the fruits of the large wooden beast. He ate five apples in the seven second time frame, about to continue on to the sixth he was interupted by the sound of a man. The voice was gruff but caring at the same time.
"Hey, you shouldn't eat too much of that. This tree is said to be cursed and all that feed from it will forever be stricken with an uncontrollable temper!"
Kurokashi spit out the last of his apple. His glance shot down quickly as he did. A man stood below him, holding a large stick in his right hand. The man wore simple clothing, baggy cargo shorts and a beige t shirt. A short beard he had on his face, accompanied by a very serious face.
"I already have a temper, so this fruit will not effect me!" The boy retorted, taking a bite of his new apple.
The man simply sighed befor he gripped his staff tightly, a strong poke to the bottom brought the young Kurokashi from the tree and too the ground. A muffled scream and a loud bump. He was on the ground now, rubbing his sore bum his face as red as the apples he had just consumed.
"I'll kick your ass old man!" He screamed.
"Try it" The man laughed back.
Kurokashi lunged forward at the man, ready to deal out a punch, his right arm cocked back and ready. The man turned to the side, his staff held similar to a spear, both hands placed lower on the stick. As the boy came near the man simply side stepped, avoiding any would be assault. As the man stepped to the side his staff came down low, in between Kuro's legs it travelled. A quick swing of the staff dropped the boy onto his back.
Winded, Kurokashi glared up at the sky. His face still red with rage, he was humiliated.
"Well boy, you'll never hit me like that. Care to try again?" A second more annoying laugh from the man.
The boy scrambled to his feet hastily, ready to attack again. Befor he could move forward to attack the man his foot was pinned. The man had brought the lower end of his staff down onto Kuro's right foot with force, imobolizing him. The boy simply held his head in shame, tears rolling down his heated cheeks.
"Don't cry lad, you stood now chance against me. But, with training....you one day may." An offer perhaps?
Kurokashi looked up at the man, his face still wet with tears.
The man merely nodded to him, befor releasing the boys foot. Next the man reached into a pouch on his left leg, from which he removed a small cylinder. He swung the thing forward and it extended to a great length of four feet, the same as Kurokashi's height. The staff was handed to the boy and the man took a step back.
"well then, let us begin. Do as I do."
The man then turned to the side, After doing so he stopped for a moment. Allowing Kuro enough time to do the same. The boy, still red eye'd from his tears, followed the man's lead. A turn to the side. Next the man slide both hands down from the center of his staff to the bottom half, a short distance between the two holds. Kurokashi followed the example.
"This, is the forward stance of the Bojutsu style. You should remember it always as your first step to greatness!"
The boy nodded, his eye's becoming less puffy now. His rage replaced by happiness, his quest had begun.
