Being revamped!History:
On an awkwardly warm day in December, two days before the twenty-fifth, a baby girl was born into the Li Clan of the Leaf. Minoru and Shiori Li, after much deliberation, named their first child Ayano -- Design. For the first few years of life, both parents loved their precious daughter with every extent of their being. She showed promise as a talented artist, like much of the other clansmen, but they had their own ideas for her. They wanted her to become an elite shinobi. It was when she was old enough to think for herself, that their distance grew beyond measure. When posed with the option of learning NinJutsu and fully going early into the Ninja Academy, Ayano refused. She didn't like to fight: she wanted to become an artist. Shamed, Minoru -- the cliche easily-angered father -- forced her to do as the clan expected. She would be a ninja, even if she didn't like it. Although Shiori disagreed with her husband's methods, she took no stand to stop them, and Ayano was eventually made to go to classes. She was taught the basic techniques of the clan, along with some GenJutsu, for protection. One day, the girl snapped. She fought tooth-and-nail with her parents, until finally, they could no longer take care of her. Minoru was starting to become violent, to his own child. For her daughter's sake, Shiori gave her to her brother, Gatmaru. Unlike his sister and her husband, he was less strict when it came to the girl's dreams. If she wanted to paint, he supplied the tools. If she wanted to hate him, he gave her space. Although his girlfriend didn't think such methods would work, she was quickly proven wrong, when Ayano started to warm up to them both. She even agreed to attend the academy, if only because her uncle insisted she needed outer-clan friends.
Sadly, her compassion for schooling died her first day there. Compared to the other students, she was awkward -- not to mention a little older. They picked on her, calling her stupid, as-if she had failed or something. Intent to prove them wrong, and because her social life was a bare minimum, she devoted most of her time to studying. The remnants were for practicing her drawing skills, and sleeping. Her hard work paid off, in that she became top of her class; never quite enough to graduate early, but enough to be recognized by her peers. They started to flock to her, in attempts to make friends with the girl who could show them how to do things they didn't understand. But she saw through this ruse, and decided to remain a loner; snubbing them off. Gatmaru was worried about her, but found himself at a loss for how to help. Could he really get into the social affairs of a pre-teen? His girlfriend -- a new one, at this point -- said no. It's a breech of privacy! she said. In all of her time at the Academy, there was only one time she opened herself up to someone. She had a crush on a boy, fairly popular in a child's eyes, and a great student. At one point, she worked up the courage enough to talk to him, and they seemed to hit it off. In fact, he asked her out a week later. Her first real boyfriend! They took long strolls through the park, holding hands, and she drew him several times in her notebook. They passed notes between classes, and he introduced her to his friends. She was slowly starting to become more social, and felt that she had real friends, for one time in her life. Of course, nothing that perfect lasts forever. One day, he tried to persuade her into doing something intimate with him. She quickly refused, because to her, it just didn't seem right. He got angry, and decided to hurt her: proceeding with his plans with another girl. This destroyed Ayano's trust in him, and the rest of the academy, and she dumped him. As she got older and progressed, she became more and more reclusive. Finally, she graduated.
Like all other new gennin, Ayano recieved the normal hitai-ate, and a chosen team. However, aside from the day they were picked for her, she never saw the others again. Missions and teams, well, they just weren't her style. She was yelled at time and time again by her Jounin instructor, but never did she care enough to be embarrassed by it. Not even when her sensei talked to Gatmaru, who was in turn, very disappointed in her. So, to regain his approval, she decided to go on a few missions. But, alone, not with her so-called team. The jounin begrudgingly agreed, and she took her first task: weeding an old woman's garden. It was a simple D-rank, but it got her a nice sum of Ryo. Still, none of this had repaired her relationship with Gatmaru. Did she have no family? It felt to her, that she no longer did. With this in mind, she made a drastic decision: leave the village, in search of a new home. And so she did, slashing a mark through her headband, and starting a new life in her travels.
