Mist Meeting Ground Chuunin Exams

Following his guard to the correct area, Jin took in his surroundings carefully. There were many guards posted; the Hoshigake wondered if there would even be any combat in the first round. A gate surrounded by a wall covered the entire area. At least the ground would be fertile enough and the air moist enough for Jin to be able to summon water techniques easily. As the man used the speaker to begin to talk, Jin’s attention turned ahead, not wanting to miss any little detail that might become important later. Jin figured he might get finished with this sooner than other villages seeing as he was the only one going into this arena from his village.

Jin was clad in a long, black robe with a toxic symbol on the back of it in yellow, black, and purple. The robe followed his body from his mouth all the way down to his toes. Beneath this robe were a plain black shirt and plain black leggings just to cover his body up. Strapped to his back was his Crying Long Sword, his most prized possession. His Mist headband was attached to the hilt of his sword, displaying to what Village he owed his allegiance. Small containers were located around where a belt would be located, all containing water so that Jin could cast his jutsu more easily. Along his right hip is a small sheath containing a single knife. Finally, in a pocket on his butt were twenty exploding tags.

Jin looked forward with fierce determination. What now?

(Sorry for the late reply. I wanted everyone to get along and communicate with one another and try to Start a little roleplay if you hadn't started as a team. Now that people have gotten their formalities taken care of we can move onto the needy gritty.)

"Test test," the voice over the loud speaker spoke again. "Is this thing on?" the old raspy voice continued. "Ah, good, greetings ninjas of various Villages. It is a pleasure. My name is honestly not important but what I have to say is. Look to your left, and to your right, the people that came with you are part of your team. Ain't that grand? I hope all villages sent more than 1 person or else this could honestly be a little...troublesome" he spoke in a calculating form. "This Chuunin Exams will be a simple one, an easy one of sorts if you like to believe. There will be no tournament, no written exams, no pesky chakra shielding floors or seals. It will be a 1 test, 1 simple retrieval mission. Behind those walls, behind that door is a temple, inside the temple is a very special herb. Anyone who comes back with that herb will be eligible to become a Chuunin for your respected Village. That's it. Simple no? That's all you need to do. Go in this lovely little forest, reach the temple, find this special herb that is about a foot high with rainbow colored pedals, and bring it back. I know what you are all thinking, easy right? Of course it is. You see we don't want to make things very difficult for everyone. We understand how hard and difficult it is to be a Ninja and we just want to make sure it is as simple as humanly possible. We hope to see you soon. Oh, and to know what's going on we set up security cameras throughout the forest and temples just so we can know where you are all at, at all times."

There was a moment of pause for a few seconds before the old man spoke once more. "Oh you may start when those doors open, just give a minute and we'll open the gates, and you can go right on in and scamper off. Have fun kiddies." he said before finishing with a hardy laugh.

There could be times where a team may meet up with another team. You'll find out when this happens. Short post, after this, you'll have individual Examiners.

[Sorry to be tardy to the party.]

As the gates opened, Jin had no idea what he would do. He figured he would take things slow, especially considering he was by himself. Jin sprinted full speed ahead towards the center of the forest, going what he could only assume was south (not sure if the gate was facing inward south or outward south). The temple wasn’t said to be in the center of the forest, but that was just Jin’s prediction. He would wait to see what he ran into, if anything. His arms were flowing behind him, his robe fluttering a bit in the wind he was creating. Beside the soft sound of his footsteps, nothing else was making noise. His sword was strapped tightly to his back, so it wasn’t shaking. He smirked as he headed forward.

These Exams were certainly different.

Having come upon nothing so far, Jin’s mouth twitched with frustration. As he passed the wildlife, he had the strange sensation to just massacre everything in sight, but he didn’t want to draw too much attention to himself. He had to stay focused on the objective. But how could he stay focused on it when he had no clue what the hell he was doing? He was alone, which wouldn’t have been a bad thing except that Jin had no sensor abilities that would help him locate this inanimate object, nor any plant-life skills that could lead him in the direction of the herb or the temple.

Jin stopped on a tree branch for a moment so that he could think. As he stopped, a strange scent passed through his nose. It was musky. It was rotten. Having no other idea what he could do really, Jin proceeded east from here, towards the rotting smell.

(Hey I'm sorry, you're not going East, that was my Mistake, since you're going towards the smell then You're actually going West. I'm sorry about that. That's my fault.)

As Jin headed towards the smell it would grow more and more pungent. Since Jin wasn't really using any of his abilities to try and find him, the best course of action would be the sense of sight, and sense of hearing.

On the floor he would see foot prints. Many foot prints. He would not be able to see how many foot prints there were, however he would be able to notice that whatever this group was, it was dragging something across the floor, something big. From the dragging it would tear branches from bushes and trees down to the ground leading a nice rail to follow.

First Jin would hear a soft spoken sound coming from the distance. 10 meters closer he'd hear the sound slightly louder. Another 10 meters he be able to hear the sound. He would hear a man, uttering something, but he would not be able to understand it.

"Runno ub ouu pnud'k. Ru' du vookr uun nuutk ut dr' k'd pug du dr' du''n."

The audible voice was a youth of some kind. Light toned, but not harsh.

3 more voices would be heard. These were, small voices, but gruff, gargling in sound.

"O'k Kon..."
"O'ur o'ur..."
"'Rud''n, O's rukno"

What would Jin do? He knows there's plenty of trees, however he's not close enough to see what exactly is making those noises. How would he approach? Would he even approach? Or would just try to get past? What's around him is the forest of course. Rocks littered along the floor, tree branches on the floor. Nothing really else that would catch the eye.

(I'll need more information from you to do this properly. Like if you're going around, and what not, also how you're going to interact. Things like that. I'll allow you to make up scenery as things go on that's around you since this is a new area, but nothing rash like weird rock formations. Just know that there's trees, and lots of it, but other than that, nothing else.)
