Tekato with the group to the clearing where a table and loudspeaker seemed to mark the destination. On the table were some refreshments. Tekato checked his stomach, he was feeling a kind of inbetween hunger, where he could go without food for a while, but he could eat something if it was given to him. He decided to wait for instructions before indulges however. The walk over was nerve racking, the tension built with every step, but at the same time the thril rose even higher. He always loved the prospect of the unknown. His favorite part of every adventure as the abyss, the time when one is at complete unease with every aspect of the situation. When he gets to the point where all he can do is react, because no expectation can be made in a situation that is so exotic to the ones he's experienced. All he could do is rely on his wits and stick to his strong points.

He had with him his regular set of clothes which included his black boots and pants, his tan sleeveless tunic, black gloves reaching halfway up his forearm, and his leaf headband, being proudly worn on his left arm. On his back he had his black scabbard, sheathed within it his well known and trusty Katana. In his butt bag held all of the secondary ninja tools he owned, which included 10 kunai, 75 shuriken, 3 frag grenades, and 2 smoke. He was familiar with the positioning and feeling of each and felt confident in his ability to withdraw each needed ninja tool when he needed them even in the heat of battle.

He heard an old man begin testing the working ability of the loud speaker. He was probably going to relay important information to them about the first part of the exam, which no doubt had to do with what was beyond the huge stone wall in front of them. Chances were there were perils within, he remembered some of the faces of the other contestants, or at least will be within. He listened closely for when the old man began to speak, for he needed to be as well informed as he could be to have an optimal chance at surviving. If he couldn't out match his competitors, he'd have to outsmart them. He looked around at the other leaf ninja who also followed the guard to the area, there weren't very many. There was just Hikari and another guy that he didn't know. He more or less considered them to be on the same side, and considered they might feel the same. He hoped above all else that if the three of them were on the same team, he could rely on the guy he didn't know, because he already knew Hikari quite well.

As soon as Falnyr walked into the clearing his eyes were drawn to the great stone wall that confronted him, for a while he stood there simply looking at it as his hands moved instinctively to check the pouches at his side. 5 of them, holding 249 slots of clay, he hoped it would be enough. Tearing his gaze away from the wall he noticed the other leaf ninjas standing there, he was shocked at how young they were. They must be in their early teens at the latest and they already sending them out to war, he sighed and turned away.

He made a promise to himself then as he turned his gaze back towards the stone wall that towered over them, he would protect them, make sure that they didn’t die in this exam, even if it cost him his life. As he swore this oath another loudspeaker burst into life above him, an old gravelly voice emerging from it. He listened carefully as his hands reached up towards him back pulling free one of the two crossbows that were strapped there, quickly he loaded it with one of the ten repeater clips he had on him. They would start soon and Falnyr hoped he could live up to his promise.

(Sorry for the late reply. I wanted everyone to get along and communicate with one another and try to Start a little roleplay if you hadn't started as a team. Now that people have gotten their formalities taken care of we can move onto the needy gritty.)

"Test test," the voice over the loud speaker spoke again. "Is this thing on?" the old raspy voice continued. "Ah, good, greetings ninjas of various Villages. It is a pleasure. My name is honestly not important but what I have to say is. Look to your left, and to your right, the people that came with you are part of your team. Ain't that grand? I hope all villages sent more than 1 person or else this could honestly be a little...troublesome" he spoke in a calculating form. "This Chuunin Exams will be a simple one, an easy one of sorts if you like to believe. There will be no tournament, no written exams, no pesky chakra shielding floors or seals. It will be a 1 test, 1 simple retrieval mission. Behind those walls, behind that door is a temple, inside the temple is a very special herb. Anyone who comes back with that herb will be eligible to become a Chuunin for your respected Village. That's it. Simple no? That's all you need to do. Go in this lovely little forest, reach the temple, find this special herb that is about a foot high with rainbow colored pedals, and bring it back. I know what you are all thinking, easy right? Of course it is. You see we don't want to make things very difficult for everyone. We understand how hard and difficult it is to be a Ninja and we just want to make sure it is as simple as humanly possible. We hope to see you soon. Oh, and to know what's going on we set up security cameras throughout the forest and temples just so we can know where you are all at, at all times."

There was a moment of pause for a few seconds before the old man spoke once more. "Oh you may start when those doors open, just give a minute and we'll open the gates, and you can go right on in and scamper off. Have fun kiddies." he said before finishing with a hardy laugh.

It would never be this simple, this thought filled Falnyr’s mind as the gravelly voice descended into silence. He stood there for a second, eyes tightly shut as he processed the information they had been given. One simple herb, Falnyr was sure there would be catch, limited supply of the herb itself, deadly traps along the way or even ninja guarding it at the other end. He shook his head and turned his gaze back to his new teammate slowly looking him up and down. It still pained him how young he was. He pushed these thoughts out of his mind for the moment and turned to his preparation. He froze on the spot focusing the control over his soul and body, as he focused his eyes changed. They were no longer human, belonging to something not of this world and able to see better than a mortal eye ever could.

An aura surrounded the boy now, an orange of combined nervousness and excitement. Falnyr couldn’t help but feel that this person was out of their depth. He walked forward the smile still strong on his face despite what he felt inside.
“Hello there” His voice contained a forced cheerfulness trying to give the impression that he knew everything was going to be fine “I am Falnyr pleased to meet you” he extended a hand marked with a human mouth towards the boy “I hope we have time to get to know each other as we take this exam and at the end we both will get chunin” despite the assurance in his voice that they would doubt still clouded Falnyr’s heart and as he waited for the boy’s response he slipped the other hand into the pouch at his side beginning to chew the clay that wold help them survive the trial to come.

The way the man emphasized the supposed easiness of the task immediately brought into question the true intent. It was probably a trick to keep us off guard, why would they make chuunin exams easy? The whole point was for them to be difficult to pass so that one's skill and leadership could be tested. Of course it seemed so painfully obvious that the voice was lying that perhaps it really was that easy. Regardless of his speculation when the gates opened, he would proceed with caution. Tekato looked over at his partner who was scanning him over with inhuman eyes, no doubt using some kind of technique to analyze him. He couldn't but feel that he was being judged, but didn't let it bother him since he had no control over his teammate's view on him. He was what he was. Though it made him feel uneasy, information is invaluable, and that was what Falnyr was gathering. If Tekato had the ability he would have done the same.

He returned the introduction with a like smile and tone. "Tekato, you as well." Falnyr boasted a confidence that made Tekato feel more at ease with Falnyr's ability, or at least mentality about the exams. It was no good to have a partner who was overly anxious about a mission. After Tekato heard what the actual mission was Falnyr's eyes (if he was still using the technique) would see an entirely different aura overcoming the orange color as excitement and anxiety was overcome by a more emotionless state as all he did was brainstorm ideas about what the exam would be like, and ideas on how to approach it. He nodded at Falnyr's comment that they will both pass the exams. Even though he wasn't sure of himself he wanted to try his best. "So I know who i'm working with, and if you don't mind, what technique were you just looking at me with? and also your hands have mouths on them, surely those must have some techniques tied in with them, we should know as much about eachother as possible before we walk through those gates." Tekato thought about how he'd phrase his own abilities. He did not have many and they were limited. He concluded that cunning was his best and most reliable weapon.

Tekato’s aura slowly changed, shifting from the orange of setting sun to the colour of the cloudless sky above. The young gennin was relaxed now, no longer nervous about the goal that they had to achieve. Relief filled Falnyr, relief that he was getting the desired effect from the mask of confidence he wore. Beneath the mask however his mind was still clouded with doubts, his unnatural eyes slowly moved towards the wall taking another look at the ominous construction. What lay beyond those walls? How many people would die for what was just a title? For a while he just stood there thinking before he realised Tekato had asked a question.

“Well the technique with my eyes at the moment allows me to see emotion” He said these words quickly barely even stopping for a breath “The mouths on my hands allow me to make clay creatures to use as weapons, I would show you an example but I don’t want to waste clay at the moment” he raised up his left hand showing the mouth marked clearly upon it. “I am also quite a good medic so I should be able to heal you if you get into any trouble” at the end of all this he took a long breath before saying “What about you?”

(im assuming facing south means we will be walking south-ward when walking into the forest?)

His comrade seemed to have interesting abilities. However he didn't have any knowledge of them other than a limited conceptual guess on how they worked. He'd have to wait until a battle came around to gauge how to best impliment his teammate in a plan if they needed to make one. To no surprise he asked him the same question, which he quickly answered. "I have some ability in fire jutsu, shunshin jutsu, and gyakusatsu."

Tekato turned toward the gate as he heard beeping sound and the low rumble of the massive wooden door being raised into the wall above it. He was silent as the door rose, he examined the scenery behind the door as it came into view. It seemed to be a dense forest. The guards were made uneasy as the gate opened. Tekato was surprised and felt that he may have underestimated the perils within, for a group of guards to be scared from the other side of a wall meant a lot of things. For one, the place had a history. In the back of his mind he remembered this was an exam, and this could be another test in itself. He remembered his partner's ability to see emotion. "Are they genuinely scared or are the trying to scare us?" He said this under his breath so the guards could hear him. He began to make his way toward the forest.

As he entered the gate he didn't walk more than 15 meters into the woods before looking back and seeing only small glimpses of the area he had been in before. If Falnyr had walked with him through the gates he would turn to him and asked. "Do you want to make a game plan or play by ear?"

Falnyr watched the gates as they slowly raised, on his face still blazed the confident smile but inside a feeling of dread started to build within him. He looked up at the guards on top of the wall; a sea of colours greeted his eyes almost impossible to tell them apart from one another. Some were nervous, some confident, this only served to increase Falnyr’s worries. No one would be nervous if the task was as simple as they said, there was definitely something more going on here. Tekato’s voice drew him out of his thoughts however and he turned his gaze back towards the boy.
“From what I can tell, yes they are”

He walked slowly through the gate, no intention of turning back now. Not while the young gennin beside him still lived. As he took the first steps into the forest he spat out the clay into his left palm casually moulding it into the shape that he desired. As Tekato spoke again he threw the small clay bird into the air forming a solitary handseal. There was a puff of smoke, when it cleared there stood a massive bird on the ground. He smiled at Tekato
“Lets get up into the air to start with” The artist jumped smoothly onto the back of the bird and beckoned for the younger boy to join him. When Tekato had climed up onto the bird it would take off flying higher and higher until it breached the canopy of leaves above them.

Description: After molding and infusing a piece of clay, the user may form a certain bird type creature of large class. Once enlarge, this clay creation moves about, fulfilling the users desires. The true purpose of this bird though is not for explosions, but rather for the users mobility. After creation, the user can stand on top of the clay bird and enjoy a free ride. This bird of clay is much more mobile then any human as the bird helps the user gain distance and speed in battle. The user continually pours his/her own chakra into the bottom of there feet, allowing them to control the bird without use of there hands and ensure that they do not fall off the bird as well. The user of course cannot climb it extreme altitudes with this clay bird, nor travel more then twice there own speed as if they were on land. If the user decided to destroy their Clay Harrier as any other bomb, they must merely use "Katsu" after leaping from their Clay Harrier. The user should take into account that this may be a very dangerous maneuver as one could foolishly destroy a means of transport; leap from a very high altitude which will harm them; or miscalculate speeds and further harm themselves on impact with the floor. This explosion is rather weak as well as the harrier is intended solely for flight. The blast left from exploding the harrier is roughly the equivalent to 2 “Exploding tags”. Being caught in the explosion may serious burns, burn marks and lacerations. The radius of the explosion is roughly a concentrated 2 meters in size.

[You assume correctly, Tekato. You are heading south into the field. I'll be the examiner in charge of this group, so if you have any questions, comments, problems, or concerns, PM me with them. Forgive me for the delay in posting for you two. The examiner that was in charge of your thread had a few things come up, so I have taken over. If you think you'll miss the IIC for some reason, let me know and I'll make a comment. I want to keep a strict posting round here due to the length of previous exams. That being said, here we go!]

The two would venture forth into the field of trees before them. While the plan to take to the skies would be a good one, they would quickly notice the trees were intertwined in a way that made getting through without actually breaking the branches near impossible. But it would not matter for in front of them, the group would notice a break in the trees. Perhaps they were lucky and the patch around their gate was not at large? Regardless, should they continue they would notice the vast area unfold before them. In the far distance, they would see a rock formation, off to the South-East. It looked small from the distance they were at, but it was quite large up close. The vast field seemed to extend far, but as they looked, they would not see a tower. The trees around were of varying heights, none seeming to give any sort of prevalence over the other. But should Falnyr wish, the bird could be formed and they could now take to the skies to get a bird's eye view.

The two of them began their ascent into the sky, however the canopy of trees was so thick that the giant clay bird could not pierce through them. When they descended back to the ground Tekato caught a small glimpse of a ray of sunlight escaping through a hole in the wall of trees. It looked like it could be a clearing of some kind, at least big enough that they might be able to fly out of. "Falnyr, it looked like there might be a clearing over there, perhaps we'll have better success over there.

Tekato began walking further south, approaching the clearing he saw. As he walked he remained focused and ready to react to any danger he sensed on his way there. He broke the edge of the forest and what he saw was surpassed his expectations beyond his imagination. It was a vast field, with scattered trees and a large rock formation to the south-east. His eyes filled with amazement at the sudden and unexpected new landscape, a part of him was relieved that they wouldn't have to navigate a dense forest. They were looking for an herb of some kind. It was a foot long and its petals were rainbow colored. Theoretically it should stand out and not be tough to find. However the herb was located inside a temple, and their vision was mostly unhindered and there was no temple in site, just a rock formation. Perhaps the rock formation meant something, perhaps it marked a location of some kind? Could the temple be underground? Maybe the rocks WERE the temple. These thoughts filtered through Tekato's mind and deemed only some of the thoughts worthy to be communicated to his companion. "That rock formation is going to be a bright light to a group of flies for the other groups of ninja... I think we should scope out the area from your bird and see if we can see anything from another perspective. That rock formation seems to obvious." He waited for his comrade to reply to him and put in another perspective. Falnyr seemed more experienced than Tekato, and despite Tekato's strong mind, he was more likely to come up with a better plan. Tekato listened intently.

The bird took off beginning its ascent towards the heavens, but even as it rose it became apparent to Falnyr that the wall of the leaves confronting him would be too thick to allow the clay creature past. For a moment he hovered there his eyes searching the canopy above, trying to spot any way through the barrier. There was none. Falnyr sighed and began his descent towards the ground his sapphire eyes scanning for any weakness in the wall of trees that stretched out as far as he could see. He was saved the effort though; Tekato spoke and pointed out a ray of sunlight piercing through the trees. Falnyr nodded and quickly said
“Lets go”

He jumped off the bird smoothly landing on the ground and followed behind Tekato towards the edge of the trees. He emerged a few steps behind the younger ninja and he was amazed at the massive change in the landscape that had occurred, what had been a massive forest of tightly knitted trees was now a plain stretching out as far as the eye could see. One landmark caught Falnyr’s eye however and that was the formation of rocks which jutted out of the landscape. Tekato had also noticed it and suggested that they should take a look in its direction; Falnyr nodded and jumped back on the bird which had followed him out into the plain. He would wait for Tekato to do the same and then take off heading south east towards the rock formation.

It wouldn't take long for the duo to get out into the plains. Riding on the clay bird, the two wouldn't be able to see any movement around them or the rock structure, which was only getting larger and larger as they moved closer. From all around them, various animal life could be seen grazing along the grass. Part of this area seemed artificial, such as the woven trees. Yet other parts seemed to be natural, such as the animals going on as though nothing is happening. Occassionally, one of them would look up at the two to see what they were doing, but would end up going back to their business as the ninja left them alone.

It wouldn't take long for them to reach the rock structure. Several holes seemed to be made all throughout the rock as it jutted from the ground. It looked as though there were several caverns and caves all throughout the formation. But where did they lead, if anywhere? Could this really be the tower they were searching for? Some of the caves at the base of the rock seemed to lead downward, showing that this cavern did lead underground. But where exactly would it lead them? It was hard to say unless they got closer and went inside.

Otherwise, to the east, south-east, west, and south-west, the wide open plain seemed to open up once more and continued on for a little while. To the direct south, however, a large patch of trees seemed to be set once again. The ninja could either continue along the plains, go further south into the trees, or head into the rock formation below. But as they continued moving through the area, they would have to be careful. Other examinees could easily reach them, and with their position in the sky right now, it would be all too easy.

Tekato examined the large rock structure as it drew near. He saw holes large enough for people to walk through jut through the rock and lead somewhere unknown. Perhaps this was the temple and these holes were the entrance. Tekato looked at Falnyr. "What do you think? Shall we take a look inside?" Tekato was thinking they should go inside and take a look around. It was unclear what made the holes, they could have been man made or made by a beast of some kind. Hopefully man made, but there was no way to tell so the only thing to do was check it out. He waited to see if Falnyr agreed, and if he didn't he would go along with whatever he wanted to do, and would likely not disagree.

Tekato looked to the south and saw the trees, and he couldn't help but wonder what their purpose was, if they even had purpose. He however could not let a little uncertainty steer them from their current locale so he decided not to articulate his thought into words. "We should land soon too, because we are like a giant target up here if any other ninja have gotten here before us." He added quickly after his previous statements.

Continually draw of chakra Description: After molding and infusing a piece of clay, the user may form a certain bird type creature of large class. Once enlarge, this clay creation moves about, fulfilling the users desires. The true purpose of this bird though is not for explosions, but rather for the users mobility. After creation, the user can stand on top of the clay bird and enjoy a free ride. This bird of clay is much more mobile then any human as the bird helps the user gain distance and speed in battle. The user continually pours his/her own chakra into the bottom of there feet, allowing them to control the bird without use of there hands and ensure that they do not fall off the bird as well. The user of course cannot climb it extreme altitudes with this clay bird, nor travel more then twice there own speed as if they were on land. If the user decided to destroy their Clay Harrier as any other bomb, they must merely use "Katsu" after leaping from their Clay Harrier. The user should take into account that this may be a very dangerous maneuver as one could foolishly destroy a means of transport; leap from a very high altitude which will harm them; or miscalculate speeds and further harm themselves on impact with the floor. This explosion is rather weak as well as the harrier is intended solely for flight. The blast left from exploding the harrier is roughly the equivalent to 2 “Exploding tags”. Being caught in the explosion may serious burns, burn marks and lacerations. The radius of the explosion is roughly a concentrated 2 meters in size.
