"Son!"
Sogetsu couldn't help but roll his eyes as Daisetsu grabbed him by the shoulders, pulling him into a fatherly embrace that caused his body to altogether go limp. The power of the congratulatory swats on his back was almost enough to make him fall to the floor and pass out, but he managed to yank himself away just long enough to hold his hands afront himself. "Hey, it's not a big deal. It was just a mission.." Sogetsu stated. He gave his father an incredulous look in regards to his praise. Aiko threw an arm around his shoulder and gave him a thumbs up, though an apathetic Sogetsu shrugged. "But it was an important mission, my son. You did well. Just as you saved lives not long ago, this man completed his task without a hitch." The Genin shruggedh is shoulders. "You two are constantly changing. One minute, you're reserved to everyone. The next minute, you're full of emotions. This is why I wonder about our people.." Sogetsu murmured, catching Aiko and Daisetsu out of the corner of his eye.
Daisetsu merely laughed. "Well, we're family. We have to stick together, my son. Outsiders are.....troublesome. You know this.." he admitted. Sogetsu sighed as he moved past the two of them. Unmotivated to go through the motions of reliving the past encounters they'd had with people, he placed Amatsumara on her stand in his room and sat down on his bed. Leaning back, he lifted a hand and brushed his silver-white locks away from his visage. He didn't even want to fathom what Daisetsu would be talking to Aiko about. Figuring that he would skip the pleasantries and get right back into his training, he sat forward on the edge of the bed and began to think over his Sound Jutsu. There was one in particular that intrigued him - and consequently, it'd be useful to block out his parents's conversation.
Bringing his hands together, Sogetsu pursed his lips together and focused on his chakra. Every point reacted almost immediately. He attempted to block out his Ranzatsu senses for the moment, simply allowing his own chakra to coat his body and swirl comfortably within. Moments passed before his chakra began to separate, most of it perishing back into his systems as a reserve for later. But what was left would ebb at the center of his torso. He began to lift it up by sheer force of will, only separating it once it had reached the highest point of his abdomen. The chakra now began to take on the form of a layer. Coating both of his ears, his eyes narrowed slightly. He had attempted to self-deafen himself, and now it was high time he practiced the art.
He started by reaching toward Amatsumaru, slowly pulling the blade out of its scabbard. The usual sound of a scream of metal against handle was usually heard. But at this point, naught would come to him. There was only the silence, aiding him in his endeavor to drown out every audible possibility around him. A few swings would surely force sounds of wind being parted with every motion of his powerful arm. But nay, nothing would come. He grinned slightly to himself as he flipped the blade multiple times. Regardless of the strength of his thrust, or if he would even place it upon a pedastal and attempt to grind two materials together. Nothing would come. The Sealf-Deafening technique had appeared to work.
Finally, Sogetsu stood to full height and straightened out his vest. Moving to the door threshold of his room, he slowly allowed his head to poke out of his room to see if he could discern the conversation between Daisetsu and Aiko. Sure enough, there was nothing that would come to him. He ambled forward and couldn't hear the cadence of his boots against the carpeting - another good sign that he had taken control of his abilities and harnessed the power of Sound Jutsu. Daisetsu could be seen sitting at the dinner table discussing things with Aiko. As his lips moved, the Genin could only read his lips as a result of visual prowess.
"Awesome. Now I don't have to hear their escapades at night..." he mused with a look of disgust.
