Basic Rules

Ninja, nuke-ninja, and non-ninja may enter A Savior's Sacred Place. Although most missions and events are focused on non-ninja, there are exceptions. There are also a variety of shops and outposts that any person might find interesting. The following thread outlines the rules for entering A Savior's Sacred Place and an index of all the notable locations, as well as any other information that might be important for roleplay within the city. 

1. Everybody entering A Savior's Sacred Place must come through the Gate of Devotion. This thread is where the gate is located. All rules for the gate can be found within this thread.
2. While within the city walls, ninja are prohibited from attacking non-ninja who affiliate with A Savior's Sacred Place. This is not a place to hunt them down or attack them unless you've been given consent by all parties.
3. The Flower on Earth rules here. Their word is law to the commoners and non-ninja who provide protection.
4. There is no attacks allowed on temples. Those who do attack a temple will be punished and executed. Sites that are considered temples are marked below.

5. Any ninja or non-ninja looking to live in A Savior's Sacred Place should consider joining the chat. Here is the thread. Let us know what you think about village policies, if you would like to plot, and even how your day is going. 
6. Anybody can join or otherwise reside in Sukuinushi provided that they meet the prerequisites. There is no penalty for being associated with a hidden village and you can still be a part of your village. Link is here.

Notable Locations

 

Official

• The Gate of Devotion - This is where ninja and non-ninja may enter A Savior's Sacred Place. The gate is well protected and meant as the barrier between the village and the unsafe world. Read all rules before entering.
  
• The Tower of Contemplation - (Temple) This is the primary office building for A Savior's Sacred Place. The council and the Flower on Earth work within this tower to protect the village. Any citizens that need assistance may stop by the tower. 
• The Graveyard -- (Temple) The graveyard is considered one of the most holy sites in A Savior's Sacred Place and many come here to pay their respects to the deceased and conduct worship. What goes on at night is anyone's guess?

Shops

• Kiyo's Shop of Wonders [CLOSED] -- Kiyo Nakajima runs a shop in Sukuinushi which sells only air trecks. Although few are aware of her shop of wonders, those few have been pleasantly surprised by what she offers.
  
• Sasumi's Scroll Shop [CLOSED] -- Sasumi runs a scroll shop which only sells jutsu summoning scrolls, happy to meet new travelers and discover for herself the techniques that they bring. 
  

Other Locations

• Sebunkage Headquarters [死]-- The first headquarters established by the Sebunkage, its official name is Death. Representing the first true aspect of the Seven Shadows, this headquarters demonstrates the ultimate evil and the fate to which all humans are one day doomed to experience. This headquarters has specific rules and permissions for entering, so please read carefully.

Official Religious Lore

Most of those that belong to Sukuinushi believe and revere the Flower on Earth, an individual that has been selected by the Angels to lead the city. However, the Flower on Earth is not a divine being themselves and rarely has claimed to be (with the exception of the second Flower on Earth) and only claim to speak with the divine. The Angels make similar claims to some extent, but always obey the interpretation of the Flower on Earth. The exact nature of the being that the Flower on Earth reveres is not clear and seems alterable with whoever leads the village. Lately the citizens have taken to calling this diety the One, as in "the One who watches," or "the One who protects." In the Book of Misa, a text by the first Flower on Earth, it reads:

    "There is One who lead me and my followers through the desert to this vast oasis. That One, whose name I have never come to know, so led us through images and metaphors that required intense interpretation. But even as it was hard, we never faltered, since we knew the One would lead us." 

This One -- which has been so richly described by Misa -- has occupied the collective consciousness of Sukuinushi for years. Although the variation of worship changes with each leader, it seems true that some essence drives the leaders who are elected to Flower of Earth. Time has not demonstrated, however, that the position is immune to corruption and there is currently fear in Sukuinushi since a new Flower must be selected. With each passing generation, the faith in the Flower of the Earth diminishes and threatens to usher in a new era in A Savior's Sacred Place. An era where the Flower is not protected by her divine authority. 

While the civilians of Sukuinushi may believe in an indescribable "one," they also referr to concepts which can be thought of as "lesser dieties" for lack of a better word. These forces are conceptualized as human archetypes and referred to as the Father, the Mother, the Son, the Virgin, the Fool, the Lovers, and the Crone. Each is reverred in different ways, representing different aspects of life to the people of Sukuinushi. It is popular for festivals to be held once a year for each of these beings, eating particularly foods and giving sacrifices to them. It is rumored that secret cults which have sprung up around Sukuinushi use a bastardized version of the Seven Souls -- representing them in twisted and demonic fashions.

Timeline of Rulers

• Misa I -- The first Flower on Earth and ruler over Sukuinushi. She was have known to have been a kindle and gentle woman, often heralded as a "savior" and reverred in temples. Misa is best known for her contruction of Sukuinushi on ethical principles and devotion. 
• The Three Golden Flowers -- The Three Golden Flowers (Hilary, Rae, and Kimuzu) ruled for several decades in the absence of a Flower on Earth. None of them, however, thought they were fated for the title and helped usher in the next to lead.
• Kira I -- Kira Sankuchi became the second Flower on Earth, who ventured into Sukuinushi from the Sand Village. Although ultimately determined to have thought herself a god, Kira benefited Sukuinushi and allowed the village to expand its relation to other villages (even those that are hidden).

Timeline of Events

• Sukuinushi established in name by Misa, the first Flower on Earth, and began to build elaborate temples and structures for the village. 
• Misa establishes first temple in the heart of the city. 
• Misa recruits the first Angel, Hilary, for Sukuinushi to run the temple. A small gathering of desert dwellers move into the sanctuary looking for an end to their misery. In the temple and Sukuinushi, they found a home and the first citizens lived in the town. 
• As more people began to dwell in Sukuinushi, the town began to grow and more temples were constructed for the Angels and their religion. As time went on, however, more people began to deviate from the faith of the ruler and form their own personal belief systems. 
• Some citizens started to worship in groups in the privacy of their homes, forming new "pagan" cults to defy the Flower on Earth. While neither side was right or wrong, the opposition led to many conflicts within the city. 
• The second Angel, Rae, and the third Angel, Kimuzu, were established by Misa to oversee these unruly groups and pagans. As time wore on, Rae and Kimuzu were highly regarded as the cruelest angels and a bad decision by Misa. However, just as everything else Misa did, historians consider Rae's establishment necessary to the progression of Sukuinushi. 
• One of the heretics, in a sad plot that has been written about in many songs, sent an assassin to the Flower's temple and murdered her as she prayed. The organization that performed such a drastic attack has not been determined. 
• Misa died before any of the other angels were established, although she had consorts who filled the vacant spots that is today known as the Angels of Sukuinushi. In her stead, the three angels that had been assigned ruled together. 
• Together Hilary, Rae, and Kimuzu ruled over Sukuinushi for several years. During this time they were known as the Three Golden Flowers. 
• Although it was mostly peaceful during their reign, a group known as the Order of the Ancient Ones was brought into Sukuinushi, although it was relatively small and overlooked at the time. 
• Hilary, Rae, and Kimuzu brought on an era of happiness that involved fruitful trade and worship. Many became closer to the teachings of the One and for a while it seemed to be going well. Thanks to their soulcaster abilities, many of the Angels were able to go on looking as if they did not age. 
• A faction known as the Brothers were born who threatened to put into rulership a man by the name of Avingard. He was a strong man who claimed that he was related to Misa through perverted and heretical sexual acts. The faction spread rumrs quickly and garnered the support of too many. 
• The Three Gold Flowers sought out to bring in two more angels, Mira and Sira the twins. While Sira was an angel well versed in healing (badly needed after their fights against the faction), Mira was a commander and right-hand man. He helped lead the village to disband the Brothers. Or so it is believed. 
• Now there were five Angels who ruled the village, which had been held by men and women previously only as a formality and out of ritual for the seven original members who helped find the Village so long ago. Now, however, five true Angels had been selected and they knew that their power was too great.
• Two more individuals were sought out during a very quick period of time, Miso and Rose, who were strategic in their election. As the village grew bigger and so many hands were involved in the traditions, Miso was elected to guide the village's events and festivals -- keeping the growing number of civilians under her organized leadership. Additionally Rose, only a child when she was elected the seventh Angel, was deemed a prodigy and was given the greatest power -- to keep the peace between all of the Angels. 
• After a year, Kira Sankuchi was elected Flower on Earth to take away the power of the growing authoritarian body of the Seven Angels. 
• Kira Sankuchi, also the leader of the Sand Village, believed herself to be a goddess and made a functional relationship between Sukuinushi and Sand. For the first time Sukuinushi became involved in the affairs of ninja. 
• After three years of leadership, Kira died unexpectedly and without electing a successor. It was the perfect opportunity for the Order of the Ancient Ones, who had been slowly growing in numbers since the time of the Three Golden Flowers, to begin to spread their influence.
• The Second Angel, Rae, was assassinated by an unknown organization (link)

The Seven Angels

The First Angel, Hilary

Hilary, the first Angel and one of the original founders of Sukuinushi, has aged over the years but her soulcaster abilities (like many of the Angels) allows her to shift her age. She has been alive for many years and has seen much in the way of history, knowing the entire past of Sukuinushi -- even when they were nothing but nomads traveling the desert. Hilary is lawful good, kind, and benevolent. Besides the Flower on Earth, she is the most revered member of Sukuinushi and infrequently goes out on missions, opting to lead when the Flower on Earth is not available. Often she is the one who has the most say and will make the final decision on disagreements, although Rose (the seventh Angel) has been known to override her on occassion.
