It had proven a lot easier to lure the animal along with him than he had thought, and he was barely needed to give the animal any fishes as they had walked together for almost a mile. The wound didn't seem to bother it as much either, and Emi had by a couple of quick glances seen that the animals wound wasn't as severe as he first had thought. So Emi tried to get the animal to run along with him and play as they were getting closer to the gate. They ran in zigzag and pushed each other to the sides. It was a harmless play and neither one of them pushed hard enough to make the other one loose his balance, but Emi still was a little scared that the big beast would snap and attack without any seconds of hesitation, it was a carnivore after all. It was however very young, and the smile it had made Emi more confident in the creature as they played.
As they ran through some water patches, Emi noticed that the fishes living in them tried to flee away from them, and even jump out into the air in fear of getting struck. So as he saw one of them jump into the air, he quickly drew one of his kunais and threw it at the fish. His accuracy was good, and he was able to hit it in the gills, killing it instantly. Both Emi and the animal stopped in their tracks and looked on one another and then on the fish, waiting to see the other ones reaction. The beast reacted first by charging the fish and take big chunk out from its stomach. Emi smiled as he started to think on how much food the animal really was able to eat before it'd be satisfied, but then he thought of making it into a game.
Emi just received a confused look back as an answer, but he didn't expect anything else. But he started to jog a little and was quickly accompanied by the beast. While they move around on the swamp, Emi had his eyes wander the open water puddles looking for more fishes that could fit for the beasts meal. When he saw a group of some kind of bigger fishes with sprouts, Emi pointed at them and shouted that the beast should attack them. The beast just looked where Emi pointed with a wagging tail, not knowing what Emi had meant by that, but eager to do something. Even though it hadn't gone as hoped, Emi laughed a little to their difficulties to communicate before he picked up and threw three bigger stones in the water by the fishes. They immediately jumped up into the air, and Emi made the beast notice them by yet again point at them.
I really should give you a name....
But he was distracted by his thoughts as water splashed all over the place and the beast ran around trying to catch any of the fleeing fishes. To make sure the attempt was in vain, and that the beast would want to do as Emi said more times, Emi picked up two small rocks and threw them on two fishes. Even though they weren't dead yet, they was stunned and very easy prey. As they stones had flown through the air, one of them had almost hit the beast, which had made Emi a little frightened that it'd turn hostile again, so when he to his great relief missed it, he breathed out. The movements the beast made, was rather unique and some kind of a mixture between a fish, a lizard and a dog. Which Emi then realized that it was basically how the beast looked in total anyways, but he still sat down in a patch of grass and followed the movements, trying to predict how the animal would move next.
The name just popped in his head as his eyes wandered to the severed leg, and the animals reaction confirmed he had made a good choice as it stopped in its tracks and looked happily back at Emi. When Emi neither moved himself nor said anything further, zetsubô turned back to the fishes and continued on chasing them with all his effort. So Emi was able to continue to observe the movements and as he started to get a good idea on how Zetsubô moved, Emi threw another two stones pass him as close as possible, trying to push his analyzing. Even though Zetsubô seemed to be moving slower for some reason, the stones still got a little too close for Emi's comfort. But Zetsubô didn't even hesitate in his tracks when the stones flew pass and hit more fishes, but only one of the fishes was hit hard enough to get stunned by it.

Even beasts do have friends

Let's hunt some fishes together, what do you say?
