”Go north from here and you’ll reach the main town,” said the man in the weapons shop. However “going north” was one of those phrases that was certainly easier said than done. During his time on the island he’d learned how to use a compass to get around but was not given one during his abandonment. However his mother had told him that kunais could be used to help someone when they were lost. Not too far away from the shop Maasaa sat upon the ground taking in a breath as he pulled out one kunai laying it upon the ground.
Maasaa remembered back a few years ago when he’d been on the island. His mother had tried to get him to learn this move but he couldn’t and ended up getting lost most of the time. What he remembered was ”Bird and dragon.” These was the important part of the hand seals that he did before attempting it. Pushing his hands against the kunai he tried as hard as he could to control the chakra within him. Through his hand and into the kunai he channeled his chakra into it but what happened was certainly unexpected.
With the added chakra rather than pointing north the chakra lifted the kunai up a few inches from the ground and was constantly spinning in circles rather than pointing in a direction. Maasaa narrowed his eyes annoyed watching his kunai spin reaching out he stopped the kunai. Clearly something was wrong perhaps he used too much chakra at once and overloaded the kunai. Whatever it was he pocketed one kunai and retrieved a different one to try again.
Standing up Maasaa just walked forward he needed to clear his mind a little. What was he doing wrong? After walking for about ten minutes he stopped and dropped the kunai into the dirt. The sound of it piercing the soft ground relaxed his mind. Sitting down he retrieved his kunai placing it upon the ground. Moving his hands through the familiar handseals he gathered his chakra within his body. It was transferred from his body into the kunai. With the transfer of energy some channeled into the ground to connect the kunai to true north. Looking down Maasaa watched the kunai twitch and shift finally turning ninety degrees to the left which surprised him. He was going the wrong way! Picking the kunai up he flipped it within his hand as he walked. Hopefully no trouble awaited him as he walked towards the main town. Upon his waist held a utility belt full of weapons as well as a katana that he kept on his side.
