"Dare to give." That was a little more difficult. Still she copied the word onto a piece of paper in both Common and Latin to place it into her memory palace. "E-ed-Edificare. To build. Well an edifice is a large or imposing building, therefore derived from the Latin Edificare." There was a tone of pride in her voice as she put two and two together to come up with the answer. This was of course a detectives favorite past time. A smile stayed upon her lips as she wrote the words in one of her many notebooks.
"Let's see now we have... laborare, to work." Again this made sense to the detective. To work was to labor, clearly this was taken from the Latin root. She wrote both on her paper. This part of the work was simple yet she knew that once she moved into actually conjugating the verbs it would be much more difficult. Conjugation was a tricky subject in any language, it only seemed easy in common because she had grown up with it, there was never any real 'learning' of that in the formal sense. She shook her head and looked back to the lesson, eager to learn the rest of these verbs.
"Legare to leave or bequeath." She repeated. It took but a moment for her mind to make the connection. Legare was akin to legacy, what one left behind or bequeathed unto another. She wrote both words on the paper, adding in the word 'legacy' between the two as a connecting idea or phrase. Something she would recall that could help her remember this word if she as ever stuck. Perhaps that was what set Kinsey apart from others, she always planned in case she should fail, thus a back up plan was there to save her. Over confidence was the ruin of man after all.
There were but two verbs left on her sheet now. "Orare to pray." She wrote this down frowning as she sought to find a connection. The word was similar to orate, which would be to speak though prayers were not always spoke aloud. She jotted it down anyways and hoped the words were similar enough for her to recall. One word remained. "Vocare to call." This had an easy enough connection. Vocare, to vocalize, to call. She knew this was meant to be a difficult language however the similarities made it easier in her opinion. Though she was sure that would all change once she moved into conjugation.[/font][/ul]
