Mayu would find that besides her new clothing, the only thing that she had on her person was Tessaiga. Of course stabbing oneself with a sealed Tessaiga was about as effective as using a butter knife. The other thing was that nobody even seemed to realize the blade was there at all. Normally if a women was walking around with a sword, sheathed or no, it'd draw quite a lot of attention. No one was paying Mayu that kind of attention, although some of the men were still looking at her in her risque dress with interest.
The woman who had shown concern for Mayu before turned back at her exclamation, looking at her with confusion. "You were simply sitting here, Ms. You began to shake as if you were assaulted by spirits, but when I spoke to you you calmed. Are you alright, Ms.? the woman would continue to look at Mayu in concern, and Mayu would be able to get a good look at her face this time, and with a shock she would realize the face was identical to one of the teenage women who had been found dead in the mansion recently. Once this fact sunk in Mayu would likely desire to look at the faces of others, and perhaps just as she thought they would indeed be the faces she had seen recently. One and all of the people in the ballroom were the people who had died over the last century in the mansion. How or why they were all in this ballroom was easily explained as a Genjutsu, perhaps.
As Mayu would process the information she had manage to acquire, the ball would continue, and it wasn't long before an announcement was made. A tall and thin man dressed in a butler's attire called out over the ballroom as he stood next to a grand staircase, his voice strong, "Ladies and Gentlemen, we hope you have found this celebration to your liking. It's time now for the guests of honor, however, so please welcome the Lady Minerva, Savior of our Fair City, and her escort Sir Marcus!"
From the top of a grand staircase two people would appear, a beautiful woman dressed in a dark seductive victorian dress and a man who was dressed in an exquisite three-piece formal suit. Mayu was too far to see either clearly, but it was clear they were the star of the show, so to speak. As they appeared the entire ballroom burst into clapping and polite cheers, and the noise continued as the duo began to descend down the stairs. For now, no one was paying any attention to Mayu anymore. What would she do?
