It was the metal he had used the most, so he knew the changes of it as the back of his hand. So he managed to both fix the triangle perfectly on the first try, but also add the blade unto it without having any breaks in the mithril. The merge didn't look flawless as the metals were not accustomed to each other and even though it was strong, it didn't look very appealing. So he did as he had done before and wrapped some leather surrounding it, long pieces with the same type of runes written on them. Emi then formed a couple of wood pieces and screwed them on each side of the metal handle. It was important that all of them were connected at all the tips of the triangle, so he made another couple of pieces which he put on there.
When they were all on, he took up a portable grinding machine and began to remove all of the excess material on the wood. He allowed the middle parts of the handle to still be free of the wood as he didn't think it hindered the use of the handle and also because he thought it looked neat. As the wood looked a little pale from the lack of color, he thought of add some but then instead decided to just add on some oils. The smell made his nose twitch, but the darker and clearer color it gained was definitely making it worth the irritation. Emi gently blew on the oil as an attempt to make it dry up quicker, even though he knew fully well it didn't do much. Since it was only oil, must of it dried up within a few seconds anyways, making him able to continue his work without almost any delay.
To make the overall appearance have the same theme, Emi began to burn in a pattern along the wooden handles. The heat did however ignite the not quite dried oil on the surface, making a small blue flame cover the handle for a swift second. He covered himself behind his arm as he got surprised from the effect before he looked over the result of the flame. Some of it had a small degree of burn damage, while most of it had managed to stay the same as before. But since he didn't want any damage at all, he had to change his idea by grinding away the damaged wood and replace it somehow. For second he even considered to go back and remove the entire pieces of wood from the handle, but as he really had grown accustomed to the sensation, he didn't.
