When he had removed some of the surface slagg, he noticed how corrupted it had become, and as he thought of the best ways to remove it he realized what he normally did with steel. To put unclean steel into a bath of vinegar was one of the first things one did to make sure that all of the impure particles would get removed. But as he was using a different kind of metal Emi went back to the book to see what kind of liquid if any he could use to clean it up some, surprisingly it stated the normal one, vinegar. So Emi hammered together a couple of wooden planks into what looked like a improvised bath-tub and then gently placed the blade into it and filled the tub with vinegar.

While he waited the boy used the time to go and sleep and eat some food, some well deserved rest. But as he came back into the smithy he just didn't feel much better, yet he had to remain working. So he walked up to the form and removed all of the foam that had risen to the top to be able to actually see the blade underneath. When he removed it from its bath it was covered in a brown icky surface, which he had to sandpaper to be able to remove. When he had been working the entire surface Emi just washed the entire body with some cold water to get rid of the remaining goo, which kindly followed along the water into the sewers. He briefly wondered if the liquid would damage anything down there before he began to think about the next step for the blade.

The weight had been something that he had been thinking about since he started with the project, but as he moved it around in the air after the cleaning process, he noticed that it was far from as heavy as he had expected. But despite that he knew that he couldn't just change if for the joy of it as he already had done the worst part for the blade. So he added on another cut out, this time closer to the handle which would actually be open to the back-side of the blade. The reason for that was so the blade actually would be able to be used from the back to capture enemy swords or the like, so he didn't draw up any markings for grinding on an edge on it.

As the front of the sword was intended to be a little further in, allowed a triangular shape point out on the top, Emi sawed off an inch of the metal from the blade and placed it on his desk. Looking back he wondered why he had used so much metal in the first place as it had cost him way more than he had hoped the project would cost. But he had to just put all of the extra into a box in which it couldn't be damaged by any outer corruption. Emi then draw on the hole that he had intended to put into the triangular shape to further lower the weight on the blade. Which he then drilled in to be able to reach in with the metal saw without too much struggle.

Since the hole was a lot larger than the previous ones there no difficulties for him to actually handle the normal grinding machine in the hole, which decreased the amount of time he needed to smooth out the edges. But as he finished off the grinding, he just could accept that it had turned out a little uneven, despite the fact that he had measured everything in advance. So as the cutout had been completed, he had to make all the measuring again to make sure that everything had been correctly made, which it apparently hadn't. Emi was completely sure that he had followed the exact path he had painted on and yet there were a quite large difference to what he had wanted from the template.

As he actually had managed to remove more than he had intended from the craft he knew that the balance would be slightly off from what he wanted. So he pulled out the tig to make some quick welding at it, but as he was about let the metal touch the inside of the blade he realized that it might not be that simple. After some searching in the book, he found a chapter of materials that were compatible with each other, and as he had worried, the tungsten in the wire wasn't working with the silver in the blade. The boy cursed and was about to look for a piece that he could hot weld on with a tag, but then he realized that he could possibly improvise a tig weld if he just found a proper component.

So he searched through the graph of the book for a possible replacement for the tungsten, which he found fairly quickly. It required a lot more voltage to be used, but as his welding machine could handle it, he didn't mind. So Emi made a couple of dozen meters of improvised wire, just in case he would need some later on as well, before he applied it to the machine and then began to make his weld. It was important for him to make a lot of quick marks on the metal instead of a longer smoother weld just to avoid getting it reach too high of temperatures as that could damage the core. To make sure that he wouldn't need to do it again, Emi added on a little extra amount before turning off the machine.

The grinding machine had one of the rougher blades on as it worked on the welded area with Emi carefully swooping it around to avoid taking too much away. When he had made it so the hole fitted the description and evened out all of the edges with so fine grinder that it almost was nicer than the remaining surface of the blade he put the machine to the side. The overall shape of the blade had been made, so he washed the surface off to get rid of the remaining dust before he threw the blade into his oven to get the sword tempered. That was the part that made him the most worried as he knew that the oven had been acting up the past times, which forced him to regulate the heat continuously.

After Emi had acknowledged that the temperature actually were stable at the correct heat for the silver to remain in good quality, he was able to relax a little. But he still sat there by the oven, staring constantly at the thermometer and every time it deviated a little from the proper heat, he dashed up and cooled it down by opening the hatch or heated it up further by blowing some wind. After a few hours of constant focus, he was able to remove the blade from the oven, which made him so happy as it looked just as he had hoped it would look like. So he then finished the tempering by pushing the blade into a bucket that had been filled with a special kind of oil, which immediately burst in flames and had large pillar of smoke erupt.

The boy coughed a few times before he noticed how much smoke actually came up, so when the blade had successfully been cooled down, he went over to the windows and opened them all up, cooling the house down a little and made the air breathable again. Then he took one of his new rags and washed off all of the oil from the blade, which proved to be quite annoying as it just smeared across the surface and wouldn't get absorb by the rag. When he thought it was okay, he brought it over to the grinding machine for the final touch up on the surface and to make sure that it actually got an edge. His experience with using that kind of machines made it a simple task, but half way through he decided to actually add on a line in the middle of the width of the sword to make it easier to make it symmetrical.

After he had made the entire surface shiny and had created the edge of the blade, Emi used finer and finer sanding until he finally only used another one of his new rugs with just a little water. The blade was shimmering in a beautiful color and the edge was sharper than anything he had ever created, but what amazed him was that it gave such an intimidating impression. He had his fingers walk across the blade until he reached the metal where the handle was meant to be and just firmly grabbed it. There were not really much need to actually improve it as the handle fitted almost perfectly in the hand, which made him wonder what he could do to improve it. Emi then decided to just add on some texture wrapping to give it a softer surface and a better grip.

He sighed heavily as he looked for any possible flaws in the blade, but as he found none he declared himself finished. So he made some clones and told them to bring all the security details. Then he covered everything in plastics before heading out to finish his long quest.

After several months of sidetracking his improvements as an actual ninja, Emi decided that it was time to practice some of his skills again. So he went back to the basics, to sneak around and avoid suspicion. At first he just stood there and observed the room and felt a little awkward before he actively searched for good spots to hide in. As he was looking into a smithy, there were a lot of fairly bad spots, which made him a little uncomfortable to start in there. Emi then just stuck into the shadows and tried to move to more discrete areas to avoid being in the center of the attention from anyone entering the room. It was far from a good way to hide, so he tried to make a slight improvement by moving one of the bookshelves a foot out into the room and then pressed himself into the space behind it.

The hiding-space was very uncomfortable and he was barely able to breath in there, forcing him to leave it way faster than he'd like. He took a few quick breaths and then went over to the middle of the room to analyze the hiding place he just came from. It was crude and the lighting was a little too good for it to work as any good spot, but the part that ruined it was that it actually was quite obvious that the bookshelf was closer. Emi mutter a little to himself as he went back and moved the furniture back to the wall before he leaned on the wall again and searched for the next hiding place. Emi dexterously took a few smooth steps towards the table and swiftly leaned underneath it and grabbed the wood using some chakra to make a vacuum. Then he pulled himself as close to the surface as possible while trying to remain an even breathing pace.

Emi felt a lot more comfortable with that new hiding place, but as he knew that he couldn't be too sure he made a clone that he ordered to stand on different sides and tell him if he could notice him. The boy was surprised as he learned that his clothes actually were visible from most directions and almost his entire shirt was seen from the door. So he dropped down from the table and moved up to the mirror he had in the armory and looked at his clothing as he tried to test its movements. Since he was just hanging under the table, the main problem with the clothing was that it was hanging down from his body which made him cover a bigger area, making him easier to spot. So Emi twisted the clothes closer to his skin and bound up the areas in which it normally hung free. He then went back to the table and asked the clone to do the same test as before.

He could hear how the clone muttered a little as he walked around the table before the clone hunched down and told him that it was almost completely hidden. Despite that it had been a lot better result than before, Emi didn't want to settle with only almost hidden, he wanted to disappear completely. So he moved out from the room and went up to the bedchamber, in which he had his different sets of clothing. Then he began to swap around what he was wearing with some darker clothes with tight sleeves and a very thin material. The material followed his movements almost flawless, making them perfect for what he had intended to use them. The boy then hurried back down and once again hid in the same place and way like he had done a few minutes earlier.

To make sure that he didn't force the fabrics out from hiding due to his stomach getting bigger from breathing, Emi made sure to keep his breath until he saw the face of the clone again. But only a shaking head faced him, it was still not perfect. Angrily Emi told the clone to replace him, so he would be able to see what actually was visible when crouched underneath the table. Surprisingly the clone was less hidden than he even had expected and Emi had to walked around a few times at different distances to figure out if he actually could consider himself hidden at all. Only when the light was glancing from the right area were the clone completely hidden, which made the boy conclude that for such a risky place he had to have some bad illumination in the room.

Emi dismissed the clone and scratched his head as he looked around in the room for a possible better hiding spot. The chimney was luring him quite a lot, but as he wasn't sure if it was safe he tried to find another one. But after a while Emi gave up and went over to the fireplace, the heat made him realize that the circumstances that he could use it was fairly limited. But as he removed some of the wood in it, allowing the flames to settle down a little, he felt that the heat went down to fairly acceptable levels. So when he no longer burned himself while moving his hand across the fire, Emi began to climb into the chimney from the wall. It was a little difficult climb and it forced him to constantly use chakra to both his hands and feet, but he was able to get in.

As Emi finally had some time to craft some items for himself, he had to come up with something that he would like to wield on a regular basis. As he preferred to be fighting in the shadows, it had to be light and yet very flexible to use in most scenarios. So he pulled out some paper and began to sketch a couple of ideas, to see what would be the most appealing idea to him. It didn't take him long to figure out that the most practical weapon to have was the normal claw, to be able to climb and scratch in one was very useful.

But that also required him to actually attach the claws to something, the most stable version would just to add him upon something permanent, which ended up being some gauntlets. As it was important to actually be able to use his fingers as a ninja, he made sure that the sketch wasn't all too plated, the agility couldn't be tampered with. So at every joint, there were some extra room and a clear bending mechanism to avoid having the metal being in his way. But the boy quickly changed his mind as the solution looked too crude and he wasn't even sure if it would be possible to do in a real life project.

So he instead erased the joints and replaced them with the metal just going in layers, as his fingers just could go in one direction anyways. But then he looked at the wrist and realized that he couldn't do the same thing there, so he tried to work out a simple joint system there instead. It was a lot harder as there were a lot larger area that would need to be bend and as he didn't want to have large things jumping out to the sides he instead worked out that he just needed to have small gap in between the plates. That made it possible for him to have smaller joints on the inside of the metal without tampering with the direction in which it could move.

Since he could be completely sure of the actual function of the bend, he figured that he would have to try it out before putting any specifics on it. So he took out some metals that were approximately the same thickness as the one he intended to use on the gauntlet and divided it into two plates. Emi then rounded the plates so they had a similar shape to what the actual gauntlet would have before marking where he would have some of the other things close to it. Then Emi looked at his wrist and tried to turn it around in different positions to figure out where he would want to place the hinges.
